If You Crack Your Iphone 4 Screen And You Fix It Will It Reset Everything

How to tell my parents I cracked my iPhone screen?

Why tell them an excuse? Just tell them what happened. Your parents are not idiots, so any lie you come up with, will not fool them.

Any lie about someone taking the phone, would not fool them, because if someone took it, why would they give it back?

Personally I would be more worried about getting it fixed, than trying to come up with a lie to keep them from getting angry. You know they get mad, so let them get mad.

But took it out of your pocket and dropped it....
Bent over and it fell out of my pocket.....
Walked up or down a flight of stairs and it fell out of my pocket....
Used the toilet and it fell out of my pocket......

Any of these might work, but knowing parents, they will ask, which pocket, and why has it never done that before? Why are you not more careful? Blah blah blah.... all of the above is no worse that you being a child and racing with another child, and it coming out of your pocket. As far as they are concerned, you did all of those things without thinking about taking care of the phone.

And so the volume switch doesn't work, the screen is still cracked and could have happened at the same time, and you are worried about it not working? GET THE PHONE REPAIRED, either through APPLE or a local cell phone repair shop, problem solved, with a little money.

I cracked my iPhone screen?

I'm literally crying right now. I haven't even had this phone for a month. I had a case on it. And it fell on the floor and now my iPhone 4, has a big crack in half of the screen on my phone. Honestly I always crack screens, my iPod has all screen cracked. I don't understand why, this the only time I had dropped my iPhone and its when it cracked. I'm crying, cause my parents are gonna kill me, and it's so hard for them to give me money or buy me stuff. I don't know what to do.

I cracked my iPhone 6 screen, any tips?

How difficult is it to fix it on your own?I checked some youtube videos and it seems if I am careful I should be fine.I also read an article that warned me not to fix the screen on my own because the battery is fragile and it can blow up and release poisonous gas.So far the cheapest repairer i found is apple($109), is there any cheaper options?I added a picture and you can see it is a pretty bad crack.

i want to fix the screen for the cheapest price....any tips?

What do you do when your iPhone screen goes black?

You have to check a couple things in order to make a diagnosis...Is it vibrating when you turn the mute switch on and off? If yes, it means the device is still alive. If not, then the problem is the phone itself that's off. Second, you should check if you've put the device in DFU mode by mistake. This happens very often and people always think the phone is broken. When the device is in DFU mode it won't display anything on the screen, it won't turn on by just pressing the power button.. so the first test I'd do would be to press the power button (the one on top) and the home button (the one at the bottom of the screen) simultaneously for 10 seconds. If after those 10 seconds nothing happens.. then it might be something serious. If you are not able to get it to work by following these steps try the following as a last resort: Plug it to a computer with iTunes. Once you do that you are gonna press the power button and home button simultaneously for 10 seconds (you have to count 10 actual seconds in your head or with a timer) then keep pressing the home button and release the power button (the one on top). Keep the home button pressed down for 5-10 seconds and see if any popups come up on iTunes telling you about a device in recovery mode. If a pop up comes up you might be able to reinstall the software in it and bring it back to life. If nothing happens then there's something defective.. Good news is that even if there's something wrong with the actual device it doesn't have to be bad.. most devices usually have a bad battery or a bad charging port. That's assuming there had not been accidents of liquid exposure or drops or anything like that. We see a ton of phones people get rid of with very basic simple problems. Hope this helps

Nail Polish Trick for Cracked iPhone Screen?

Today I cracked my iPhone 4 screen. The screen doesn't look shattered but it's cracked. There is a small crooked diamond shaped crack on the right of the screen. Then a few cracks are connected to that little diamond and spread across the screen. There aren't that many cracks. They're like very large puzzle pieces. I've heard of this clear nail polish trick where you put a coat of clear nail polish over the cracks and it'll be like brand new, but I wanted to be sure. My dad will kill me if he finds out. Should I tell him and face the screams and pounding of furniture and risk not having a phone at all, or use this nail polish trick?

Will I have to back up my photos before a screen repair?

Whenever you give your device to an authorized service center for any repair, they themselves Factory Reset the device to ensure your own privacy and security. In any general repair shop, the shop person may try to dig into your personal data and information. So, it’s always sensible to backup all your data and reset your device before giving it to the service person.

Cracked iPhone screen has a hole in it..?

Apple won't replace it, warranty won't replace it, so your next option is to go to a cell phone repair store or APPLE and ask to have the screen fixed, and decide for yourself, which option will cost less, The cell phone repair shop or Apple's fix .

Apple will fix it, but they will charge you for it and let you know ahead of time what it will cost you. They may also let you know what a new or refurbished iPhone will cost you as well. Knowing what it will cost to fix the screen vs replacing the phone will help you make a good choice for your personal budget.

The cell phone repair shop will just replace the screen for whatever their set price is for screen replacement on the phone you happen to have.

Shattered phone screen, can it be fixed?

Okay, here are the two parts: the digitizer and the lcd screen.
the digitizer senses your touch(which is what is broken, hency why you can't slide your screen open and what not)
the lcd screen is the display. I'm not sure if you lcd cracked or not, you will have to take off the digitizer to determine if that cracked as well. When you replace the digitizer and lcd, you don't have to worry about your phone being reset. It's like a computer. You need a new fan? just remove the old fan and place in a new one. Same goes for digitizers. you need a new digitizer, take off the old one, and place the new one. so when you go get your phone fixed, and all they're doing is changing the digitizer (and maybe the lcd too if it's cracked), you don't have to worry about your information being swiped off and deleted. So once you get your digitizer fixed, you touch will be bettered sensed, and once your lcd screen is fixed, you display screen will not be cracked.

just something random: Imagine that the digitizer is just for sensing motion. No matter where your screen is, your finger will always correspond with the same place as shown on the screen. so coordinates on your digitizer correspond with your lcd display. So even if your display is out off place, you shouldn't have an issue unlocking your phone. The reason you are having issues is because the digitizer is broken.

How do I fix a purple screen on iPhone 6?

Well..Recently I had a similar issue on my iPhone 6s but was not consistent. Sometimes the screen turns pinkish(something like Inverted colours) and distorted lines used to run all over the screen. And sometimes it used to work fine.Identifying that it could be some hardware related, I tried to replicate the issue by slightly pressing the screen with my thumb. At one point (in my case- right below the right corner of the receiver), I could replicate the issue.I took my phone to the nearest Apple service center and replicated the issue by slightly pressing the screen in that area. Later they ran a diagnostics and identified that it is a display related problem . I submitted my phone and they replaced the display after which it is working like a charm. They did not charge me a single penny as my phone is covered under warranty. So, if your phone is still covered under warranty, go to the nearest Apple service center and replicate the issue if possible. Or else ask them to run the diagnostics and check for display related issues. If an issue is found, they will make sure that it’s been fixed without charging you any money. If your phone is out of warranty, you will get to pay for the display replacement.Make sure you backup your iPhone before you go to the service center as you may need to submit your device. Upon submission, they will reset the phone to factory settings which will erase all the data on your iPhone. Once you get your phone back, you can restore from the backup. One liner:It couldn’t be a software issue and hence nothing can be done from your end to fix it. Take it to the authorized Apple Service center and they will replace the screen for you.
