If You Upgrade Your Skyrim To A Legendary Edition Will You Start With Your Saves From The Normal

Help, Skyrim Legendary Edition for Ps3?

The "legendary" edition comes with the DLCs and includes all of the official game updates (the patches 1.5, 1.6, etc) that were added after the game's initial release (and which you should have automatically been prompted by the Playstation Network to download, if your system is connected to the Internet).

I've heard conflicting information about the compatibility of the legendary edition with previous game saves. Some say it won't work, some say it will work, and some say it will only work if your previous Skyrim game was fully updated (with all of the patches) at the time you created the save files. I've also heard that the game and the DLC are on separate install discs (or perhaps you can download and install them separately, from the PS store). You might be able to install the basic Skyrim game, see if your saves work, and then try installing the DLCs.

I did not have to start over when I added the DLCs to my game, but then I didn't begin with the "legendary" edition, I just bought the regular game and added the DLCs and the patches separately, one at a time, later. If you do end up having to start over, it's still worth it. Skyrim is a massive game, and it's always fun to begin again and make different choices or try different play styles. Remember, there's no reason you HAVE to do anything in any particular order after you leave Helgen. Don't rush to complete the "main" questline but explore. I've played this game for 900 hours with three different characters, and I'm still playing.

What is different about Skyrim: Legendary Edition?

Apart from the fact that Legendary edition includes all three DLCs, it also includes the legendary upgrade.Basically, now you can level up your skills infinitely and obtain all the abilities from all the trees by levelling up endlessly instead of choosing which ones to take. Earlier you had to take a few select abilities from each tree because the number of skill points was limited(one per level up and I think my character was at level 83 at the end when i played - been some time). It also adds a Legendary mode of gameplay. The highest mode was Master in the earlier editions. This mode is supposed to be for really hardcore Skyrim gameplay.Hopefully that answers your question.P.S. : I'll see if I can play it some time and make the answer more accurate.Edit : I did manage to play it at legendary difficulty and literally everything can kill you at lower to mid levels. Also, u can't seem to kill anything. The damage enemies deal is made 3x and your own damage is 0.25x. A draugr took several hits, spells and arrows before it went down. Several people are of the opinion that legendary is good for maxed out people who got bored because game gets easy. So start off on expert and master and when it feels easy due to ur equipment and high skill level, u can switch it. It's not unplayable though, even if u start legendary at level 1 which I did. Also, almost mandatory to have companions with you as they still deal and take normal amounts of damage - handicap is just for you. At level 40+ I'm dying from 2 ice spikes, so yupp… keeps u on ur toes.

Is there a reason that my Skyrim Special Edition will not load when I change the sex on my character?

Sounds like the game is having a problem loading the different gender model. This likely from a mod your using. I suggest disabling all your mods first to test if you can change genders in the first place to make sure you game isn't corrupted.Next to look though your mods and try to determine which might cause issues. Try not to have 2 or more mods effecting one thing. Are you using some character creation changes? Character model changes?Along with this try to look though the mods you have in the load order in that they are correctly placed.(there's plenty of help online to figure out what's a good load order)

Would you have to start over in the legendary edition of Skyrim?

If you're upgrading from the original version, to the legendary edition. No you don't have to start again. You can continue playing. However, you cannot switch between the original/legendary to the special edition and continue your progress. Same applies if you're going from SE to original/LE.Special edition is 64bit, which won't work with the originals 32bit engine.

What is the difference between Skyrim Legendary and Skyrim Special Edition?

Skyrim Legendary Edition differs from Skyrim Special Edition in a few key areas.Skyrim LE was released for the Xbox 360, PS3, and PC only. It was essentially the base game with the three main DLC’s released for it, that being Hearthfire, Dragonborn and Dawnguard.Skyrim SE was released so that the Xbox One and PS4 could have Skyrim. In addition to that, Bethesda updated the graphics which looked really nice at the time.Skyrim SE also released with mod support. Sadly, the mods were limited to 5GB and 2.5(?) GB on the PS4.SE was also later released for the Nintendo Switch, but without mod support. LE was never released for any Nintendo console unlike SE.

Why isn't Skyrim launching? It works fine, but when I added mods it broke, and won't allow me to play. I open the game, shows me the BGS logo, then crashes. (Mod list is in the answer by Theo Noble)

A2AFrom my experience this is eitherA. You activate some mods thst missing ESM file (look closely at the mod page, some of the mod may not have ESP and ESM file in one package).B. Some of the mods are conflicted with one another (and/or broke)You may tried TESedit, LOOT, BOSS as other suggest but from my experience, this sort of apporach almost never work (unless you really miss something obvious). My go-to approach is to remove all of the mods then re-add them one by one until you find the culprint. Also make sure you install the Alternative Start: Live Another Life mod. It allow you to skip the prologue and so allow you to quickly check if your game is launching. If possible, I also suggest you to you MO (Mod Organizer) instead of NMM. It has some quirks but some of the option suggest by other (LOOT sortig) are already built in side the manager so you can easily do some of the basic maintainance of your game quickly.

How many hours does it take to complete the entire game of Skyrim?

Aww dude, get comfortable. The ENTIRE game? The 2 story line missions can be done in a day or two (less if you know the tricks, as it's a very glitchy game)at the VERY MOST. They're pretty straightforward (and bland, IMO), but that's not what we're talking about. The little sidequests are continuous, and never end, so you never "run out of missions". I can tell you that the PC version has way more staying power than the console version. I have the console version and I still don't have the trophy for getting to level 50 because I get so bored with the game. The first time I played, I probably spent a good month playing it, so taking in I did other stuff, about 600 hrs. Since then, I've spent even more, TRYING to get that trophy, and Its great to play when you're tired, and not up for intense combat. That is on and off throughout the year and a half I've had the game. So do with that, what you will. I'm sure with all the modding and changing up you can do in the PC version, you could spend even more time than I have on it. But it never ends, so it's never truly complete

Why is Skyrim giving me an "infinite loading screen"?

Change the "0" to a "1" in both bEnableLogging=0 and bEnableTrace=0 under [Papyrus].

Start the game and then exit and read the log file and it will give you a clue why the game is in an infinite loop at a loading screen. The infinite loading screen is usually a mod conflict or may be a DLC did not properly install (there have been problems with the DLC on the Legendary edition).

You may also have a cell buffer full from the last time you played that didn't clear so Skyrim can't load. Did you end your last game normally or did it CTD or freeze or not end normally? Have you used a quick save as this can also cause the infinite loading screen.

It can also occur if your RAM is being used by background programs and services that start to run as Skyrim is loading and there is insufficient RAM for the game to load. Shut off as many programs and services that load when the computer starts and see if that helps.

Try deleting the skyrim.ini file under C:\Users\Owner\Documents\My Games\Skyrim\. Only the .ini file and I suggest making a copy of it and saving it somewhere and then deleting the one in the Skyrim file. Starting the game with the Launcher will create a new .ini that may fix the issue.

The worst that can happen is the last save corrupted your game because it had too much or conflicting information to save or it ran into a conflict. Unfortunately, this requires a complete uninstall, a cleaning of the registry and a reinstall to fix.
