Im 17 How Come My Wisdom Teeth Havent Fully Come In

Why haven't I gotten my wisdom teeth yet?

Have you ever had a full mouth x-ray? Although its rare some people don't have wisdom teeth. In my case I had 3 that were impacted and would have never grown in...but the dentist said they would push on my other teeth and actually move my teeth so I had them removed. Just go to the dentist and get an x-ray.

Why are my wisdom teeth hurting? I’m 17 and they haven’t come in yet, but on one side of my mouth it’s been hurting a lot when I bite down.

The wisdom teeth in you lower jaw are impacted, [1] or partially erupted leaving some gum tissue over part of the tooth. The flap of skin is inflamed, as in the picture below. The green arrow shows the irritated flap of skin. This tooth is fully erupted and there in not enough room for the tooth. The example above, where the molar is caught behind the second molar, will have the same problem. It is called pericoronitis, meaning inflammation around the crown. You need to have the third molars removed, the sooner the better. Waiting for a number of years will result in a slower healing process.Footnotes[1] https://www.google.com/search?q=...

Im 15 and one of my wisdom teeth came in?

Completely NORMAL. Great question though!!!!

It is obvious to me that individuals are getting wisdom teeth at younger and younger ages. It is not unusual to see 14 and 15 year olds with wisdom teeth issues.

What I do not know is if there is a relationship between early onset puberty and early development and eruption of wisdom teeth.

Thanks for the thought-provoking question!

Im 17....why dont i have wisdom teeth yet?

17 year old girl. Most of my friend have already had their wisdom teeth REMOVED because they have already fully grown in! I dont even have any teeth poking through the gums yet!
But heres the thing: My dad only had one wisdom tooth(he got it removed) and my mom has ALL FOUR! and they havent been removed because they never caused any issues!
Is there a chance that i wont get any??

Thanks :)

Can you get wisdom teeth when you are 10 years old?

You are 10 and you think your wisdom teeth are growing?K. Do me a favour. Count your teeth for me.Starting with your top front tooth on the right. Call that #1.Now count each additional tooth on the right side. How many teeth do you count?Do the same for the top left, bottom left and bottom right. If you count to 8, you have a wisdom teeth. Usually it erupts after the age of 16/17 to when you are in your early 20’s.If you count to 7, it is your second permanent molar coming in. A little early in your case but not by that much.If you count 6, the 6th tooth is your first permanent molar which should already be there because it erupts around 6 years old. After you count, please reply in the comments as to what you counted.

What medicine do you get after having wisdom teeth removed?

I'm a 17 year old male. 6'3" 200 pounds. I'm not small person. I went to the dentist today (last visit at a pediatric dentist. Whoo!) and they took an x-ray. They said my wisdom teeth are starting to come in. 2 of them by my back molars. They said I have another couple months before they fully sprout but that I should pay attention to their progress. I know wisdom teeth extraction is a serious procedure and quite painful. My only issue is my tolerance to over the counter drug meds (Tylenol, Ibuprofen etc) is very high. My body just doesn't accept them as a drug and breaks them down before they can act. Trust me, I've injured myself enough to know that these drugs fail to work. I've never taken a narcotic in my life and the only drugs i've ever experienced is alcohol and marijuana and even those took more than a few experiences to actually have any effect on me. Anyway, how do I go about asking a dentist or oral surgeon to give me a strong painkiller for when I do get the surgery. I don't want to sound like some drug addicted teen trying to get a fix. I don't want to sit in pain for 2 weeks recovering from having bones ripped from my mouth.

Is 16 years old early for wisdom teeth to come out?

My wisdom teeth first started growing this year (may-august). I am 17 now (my Birthday's 9th of December).
And they're still not fully-grown(out)
I wonder if it's too early for them to come out? (And is there a reason why if it's early?)
So far 2 are out and very visible, and another two are on their way, one side is bulgy and the other I can feel it.

Should I get my wisdom teeth removed if they aren't bothering me being 20 years old?

Part of the issue with wisdom teeth is that the risk of complications and the time to heal gets worse as patients get older.  The bone grips more firmly on the teeth (especially if they are in function), the sinuses get bigger over time (there are risks of broken roots displacing into the sinus, especially when the sinuses are bigger), etc.  I'm a GP and my line in the sand is age 30, meaning I'll refer out 3rd molars if somebody is older than that and needs their wisdom teeth out, because I don't want to deal with the risks of complications. So when you look at somebody's wisdom teeth case it's a little bit like trying to look into a crystal ball.  What kinds of risk would make the wisdom teeth be non-viable or non-restorable in the future?  If the patient has a history of lots of cavities on other molars I'm pretty aggressive about recommending 3rd molar extractions early on.  Because the odds are pretty high that the wisdom teeth will be even more likely to get cavities (tough to clean, etc.) and doing fillings/crowns/root canals on wisdom teeth is pretty ridiculous. Same with periodontal disease.  If the teeth are misaligned or not fully erupted there will likely be problems, too. There are lots of problems with teeth that don't feel painful now, but are sometimes better (more cheaply, less painfully) solved earlier than waiting until symptoms appear. Obviously you can just wait until they hurt and then take care of each tooth one at a time, but with dental issues this is usually not a well thought out or economically sound strategy.  As always, check with your dentist to get his/her opinion on your individual case.

I'm 26 and I haven't grown any of my wisdom tooth. Is that normal for my age?

Dear Iqbal, it is not normal. Usually or typically people have the wisdom teeth. The question is: Is it acceptable? Hell yeah, it is!The wisdom teeth are considered vestigial. Vestigial implies that the wisdom teeth are rudimentary structures in your body, but were functional in your ancestors. So, you do not necessarily need them and you could be wise even without them. Now there could be two interesting situations with you:(picture courtesy: Free Dental Consultation, Dental Braces, Frenectomy, Tooth Extraction and Implants, Ask a Dentist)1. Impaction of third molars: Your third molars could be sitting in the bone, and might have not found enough space to come out. Is it ok? Well, if you are not having any issues, it is fine. But, a consultation from a specialized oral surgeon is always better.2. Agenesis of third molar: The eruption of wisdom teeth is reported to occur from 17 - 21 years of age in normal conditions. You have passed that age, and apart from impaction, you might have some genetic differences from others. Some genes like PAX209 and several others are associated with agenesis of the third molars. Agenesis means complete absence. What should you do now? Well, if you are curious to find out, get a consultation from an oral surgeon. Otherwise, you can relax until it hurts. You do not need to worry for urgent care.References and further reading:Human vestigialityPage on ada.orgPage on nature.comStudies on agenesis of third molars amongst populations of different origin.

I’m 17, no acne/pimples, and dentists say my wisdom teeth aren’t coming out (which is good I would say) is it rare to not have acne and wisdom not coming out?

I’m confused? Acne and wisdom teeth have absolutely nothing to do with each other. what is your question?
