How do you get out of summer school?
“Summer School” usually refers to summer classes at a public school. Larger schools usually make a variety of classes available. If you have failed or gotten a very low grade in a subject, the school will typically contact the student or parents and suggest the student attended summer school. Students can also attend a class to get ahead, for example, taking Pre-Calc so the student can take calculus in the fall. The school will send information out and you just sign up for the courses of your choice. It’s usually one half-day per class with the class going for 6 weeks or so. You usually can only take two classes.
Does summer school ruin your summer?
yes it will definitely mess up some of your long vacation plans for the summer BUT compared to the regular school, summer school is better. they dont take up so many grades and they cover very little information it wont be like going to regular school because the hours are shorter and you will have a 3 or 4 day weekend :)
Summer School Situation?
Hey so my dad signed me up for two classes over the summer. I really don't want to take them. I'm also gonna be working this summer so he pretty much ruined my whole summer. I'm also in a band and wanted to perform so many shows and enjoy my summer! Now it's ruined. What should I do to get out of it?
Fast Tracking gr.11 English in Summer School- good idea?
I'm currently in gr.11 and am taking gr.11 University English during the summer to make room for another course during the semester coming up. I'm really good in English and managed to get a 97% in grade 10. I'm afraid I am missing out on a lot of information taking it in summer school. Also, it just seems so rushed and 10 times harder than it should be. I'm up to my head in work. I want to know also if Universities look down on you if you fast track a course in the summer. Do they see it as easier or less significant? Will it affect my chances of getting into a good school?

Thanks for the A2A @Peter T MayerThis is my summer going into junior year, and let me tell you, it is hellish. I am taking 5 AP classes next semester, which means a guarantee of 5 summer assignments. My 6th class is band, and of course I'm hoping to get into one of the audition only classes, so if I do I'm sure there will be summer assignments.Speaking of band, I'm also in marching band and am joining jazz band. Yay summer rehearsal! We will be having rehearsal once a week for 5 hours I believe for marching band, and jazz band probably ever other week for 2 hours or so. Doesn't seem like much, and it's not until the last 2 weeks of summer, where we spend 6 days a week at school on 9am — 5pm, then 9am — 9pm rehearsals. Yes, marching band is crazy.Oh yeah, I'm also going to college! Because my school only offers 6 classes a year and I want to take band all 4 years, there's no way for me to get in my requirements. This means I have to take PE over the summer at my local college, because summer school doesn't have PE for high school. Now I have to pay money, yay me. So I'm taking a weight lifting and cardio class to fulfill that requirement.Okay, so we've got homework, band, and PE, what else… oh yeah!My dad and I are planning a 2 week road trip to Texas to visit family. We haven't seen them in 4 years or so, and I haven't seen much of the country, so this seemed like the perfect opportunity. Besides, I gotta get my 50 hours of driving in somehow right?And finally, if all that wasn't enough, I want to be a surgeon. My mother isn't sure I'm going to be able to handle the blood and gore of it, though, so I will be interning at my local hospital over the summer, well, actually until I go to college. Might as well get my civics points done, right?Other than all that, I will be spending time with my dog and boyfriend. Unfortunately, though, my boyfriend lives in Florida, so we can't see each other, but we will definitely be video chatting a ton over the summer and playing World of Warcraft together. Should I take the summer off from college?
Based on what you've said I reckon you should take a break and have some fun. It's not wrong to relax and chill. If you take some time out from your studies, get some good experiences etc during the summer I guarantee you will be ready for school again in the autumn. If you don't take some of the pressure off you might burn yourself out. You're young , Misty, still a teenager , don't look back when you're older and wonder where it all went. There's plenty of years ahead of you for focusing on just your career. I can tell from being your Y!A friend that you are a conscientious and dedicated person and those attributes won't disappear over one Summer. So my advice is take a break, it's what you want, it's what you need and in the long run it's what's best for you. You're young.....have some fun!

Is taking three summer classes too much?
A lot depends on your school. I took 4 summer classes last summer... 2 in session 1 and 2 in session 2. The teachers are a lot more understanding and the work seems easier... but you need to keep everything on time. My classes were all online, I can't stress how important it is to just stay on top of the work and not fall behind. Check w your school about grades. They usually have a final day that teachers have until to put in grades. The report card probably will take a few weeks but the school should be able to at least provide you w a record of the grades you received.
