Im Sending Away My 2 Month Old Puppy.

How do I potty train my 4 month old puppy?

It is a process and sometimes not an easy one.

The first thing is SCHEDULE, SCHEDULE, SCHEDULE.

I am in the process of training two puppy chihuahua's now this is what I do and it seems to be working.

1.CRATE training is a must, not all day, at night and I chose to when they are sleep (it really helped to get them to associate the crate with sleeping)

2. Schedule, when I wake up in the morning the first thing I do is take them out UNTIL they both go. Take them out after each meal, after each serious play etc. Eventually they will start to associate outside with the bathroom and let you know. My 14 week old will warn us now by scratching at the door, the 10 week old one is still learning so we keep a GOOD eye on him at all time.

3. DO NOT give him free roam of your house unsupervised. Keep him confined to one area of the house and only when you are there to watch him 100% of the time. We chose the living room and block it off with baby gates.

4.I would crate the puppy while wife is feeding ect. Puppies do not like to eliminate where they sleep. However, since she is older you will have to be easy while introducing the crate to him or her.

5. Remember it is still a baby, potty training is hard and does not come easy to everyone fast. If the puppy has to go she probably really has to go and it is no ones fault but the owners if this happens in the house is she is unsupervised when it happens.

Good Luck

My 2 month old puppy has Kennel Cough, what can I do to make him get better?

When I brought my puppy home for the first night, he went into bad breathing spasms which the vet diagnosed as kennel cough. From personal experience, other than following the vet's advice, giving his meds regularly, making sure he's staying hydrated, here are a few tips:

- make sure he's always lying down on a clean mat vs. directly on floor
- avoid picking him up excessively or putting any pressure on chest area and neck (make sure his colloar isn't too tight)
- try to keep his area and the floor clean from dust or any other allergens such as smoke that would set him off into breathing spams.
- if breathing spasms get bad, take him out for a minute outside for some fresh oxygen.
- keep him as calm as you can.
- add puppy suppliments to his diet.

Good luck and I hope your little guy gets better soon!

Does a 2 month old puppy have rabies?

An animal can have rabies at any age. However since there is an incubation period it seems very unlikely that your dog would already have reached the aggressive stage. Your puppy has probably developed food aggression. I would start making him sit for meals and let him know you are the master and that being around his food is not a threat to him.

Is it okay to leave a 2 month old puppy in a crate for 8 hours a day, 3 times a week?

No, as stated by others … It is not appropriate to leave a young puppy crated or left alone for long periods of time while at school, work, or away from home.“Crate Training” is an appropriate option, but with frequent potty-breaks throughout the day as your puppy grows. A potty-trained puppy or grown dog learns to use an open-crate as their ‘safe-quiet-zone’. The open-crate soon becomes their favorite place to nap or a quiet place to rest when frightened or not feeling well. You didn’t mention what breed or size your puppy is, or will grow to be. My two Chihuahuas (3.5 lb.and 5.3 lb.) are litter box trained, using wood pellets (not kitty litter). You can research the practice online, if your puppy will remain a small indoor dog.https://dogs.thefuntimesguide.co...Another option is a “potty patch”, which is a grass pad (appropriate for your adult dog’s size). There are several brands out there with varied price-points, using artificial turf or real grass. The following is only a photo of one brand out there: Official Potty Patch Website - Now Your Pet Can Go When He Needs ToResearch, research, research. Having a pet is a highly rewarding venture, but one must remember that it is also a full-time commitment for the duration of your pet’s lifetime.Hopefully, you will get some help. Good luck!

Our 6 month old lab mix puppy is still not house trained?

When we take him outside he goes, yet he just pees right behind me, and I can hear it. He doesn't even try to get my attention and scratch at the door. I get up in the middle of the night to let this dog out. He can hold it, because when he's in his crate he holds it just fine.
He just keeps pooping and peeing everywhere. I'm starting to get very mad. We've been dealing with this for two months now. Right now he is locked in his crate, because he peed on the floor. I rubbed his nose in it ( I didn't at first) and told him no potty in house, go potty outside. and put him outside, then put him in his cage. We let him out plenty, and we keep using keywords. What can we do. I'm about to just make him an outdoor dog if he can't learn manners. My last dog didn't take this long to train.

Will my 3 month old puppy forget me if I leave for a month?

I have to leave the country because of a family emergency :( my puppy is 3 months old now, I'm really afraid he will forget about me when i come back. I thought of bringing him with me but I think 15 hr flight might be too traumatizing for him :(

Is it normal for 2 month old puppies to still nurse from their mother?

Puppies are old enough to be seperated from their mother at age 8 weeks, but they should be weaned slowly off their mother's milk. Make sure they're all eating moist food and drinking water first. Allow the mother to nurse them for a little bit for a day or two, then remove her from the puppies. I would stick to moist dog food or puppy chow instead of people food. It's designed to provide the nutrients dogs need.
