Im always sick, but the school says im truant?
I have to agree with the Infinity guy on this one. I was around people who were constantly "ill" all throughout high school and they managed to scrape by and graduate (out of a prestigious private school, no less). If you really do feel sick, you should see a doctor to check for chronic illness or disease. Also, your problems may be more than physical, so you might want to see a therapist or a counselor to get better. Sometimes the mind can create malady. You should try to stay on top of your work and try to take good care of yourself and limit your exposure to illness-causing situations. Also, be sure to practice good hygiene and sanitation in your day-to-day activities. Homeschooling is not a free pass. If you homeschool, you will be BEHIND in many things. Your parents and you learning out of books cannot replace an experienced, qualified educator. You must get better or you will have to drop out!
I'm 16 and a truant in high school?
I'm turning 17 on the 30th of December and my driving permit will expire on August 9, 2011. I have been convicted of truancy on December 16, 2010. Am I still able to take my behind the wheel test before my permit expires? Don't be rude.
School wants to file truancy.?
Well, im 15 years old and school has been in for about 9 out of 10 months now. within the 9 months of school i have missed 24 days of school that were marked as absent and 38 total -with doctor's notes or excused absences-. anyways they told me if i missed any more school they would file truancy charges i think its crazy that they think im truant when my grades are all a's and b's and out of 9 months i have missed not even 1 month of school. i know i have missed alot of days but not nearly enough to be filed for truancy. the reason i've been missing those days is because i have either been really really sick or at the doctors. i was told that truancy is the ''WILLFUL'' Absence from school. im not purposly missing school ive been sick and my doctors can prove it. im wondering if they file for truancy what can happen to me? it's not like i can control when i get sick and when i dont =/. any help on what to do would be appreciated Also when i turn 16 next year are they allowed to file truancy charges if im legally of age to not go to school? thanks guys i really appreciate it.

Can you get truancy when you're 18 in High school?
Yes, as long as you are officially registered at the school, you can be a truant. If the laws in CA allow you to drop out of school, you can do that officially. But as long as you are on the school records, they have to report you as absent, which hurts their funding. That's why they're after you. Go to the school and fill out the papers to drop out. Although that's a huge mistake- but it's your life.
Truancy letter from school, please help?
I am a sophomore at a California high school and I have excellent grades. This is my first time I've received a truancy letter. The main reason I received this truancy letter is because I'm tardy to school all the time, in which I admit. And it's that one morning class that I am tardy to all the time. What gets me mad and thinking is why does the school makes such a big deal out of it. I am a straight A student, I am hardworking during class and the teachers know that. Yes, I am tardy all the time but it's not affecting my grade in any way. So why can't they just go easy on student like me? So my question, Will this truancy letter be on record? Will colleges see this? and Will there be truancy officer that's going to visit me to get me to school? Any other information would be great. Thank you.
Going to court for School Truancy while on probation?
Hi all, Well..Im on probation for 6 months because i got charged with possession of marijuana at my high school, However im doing everything im supposed to be doing, ( passing drugs tests, my classes, etc..) with the exception of me being late to some classes at school. I started being late to my classes before i went on probation and wen i went on i was late another 5 to 6 times, my Assistant principle called me in yesterday and told me that i would have to go to court because of Truancy, will this have any effect on my probation? ( since there 2 different cases) does anyone know what will happen? I dont know what to do anymore, my parents are acting like its the end of the world, i have no one to talk to, i feel like my worlds crumbling in front of me, sorry for writing all this but i just need someone who might be experienced in this to give me some advice Please no negative comments, i already feel like ****
