Im Writing A Paper On Either Pop Culture Or Advertisement Which Should I Pick And What Would You

What are three ways that marketing affects popular culture or individual behavior?

1. Brand names make people loyal and they continue buying those products, even if they are more expensive, and if you aren't wearing or don't have those "expensive" things, than you are seen as being poor or just not accepted sometimes by certain social groups.

2. People are influenced by the product in their environment or adapt it to their environment. For the first example, what did people do when Starbucks didn't exist? They went to regular coffee shops and sat down but it wasn't really the cool thing to do. Now Starbucks is all over the place and its okay to go in, have coffee and sit in there for a few hours. For the second example, not all marketing products adapt well to their environment as an in-of-itself but rather, it is adapted to suit the people's needs. For example, McDonalds in America is a fast food place. People usually go through the drive thru, order, and their gone. Other people go in, sit down, eat, and then usually go after 20 minutes or so. In Asia, McDonalds is more like a social restaurant. People actually go in and have a meal and might spend an hour in there just socializing.

3. Business Targeting: Who is your audience and who do you want to reach? A sports site will likely make their advertisement directed towards older males, while a site for teenage girls will show advertisements that their viewers will most likely click on. So its effect on individual behavior is that trends may start for a certain age group and a certain gender.

Which published authors use freewriting?

I was asked to answer this, but I don't know any "famous authors" who use it.I've used the technique, and a writer's coach I know uses it, regularly, to brilliant effect.  Part of her coaching process, the "writer's workout", is to send out three words everyday, and encourage writers to use them in unusual ways, writing non-stop for 5-10 minutes at a time.  When I would attend her weekly writer's group, we would begin or end the meeting with at least one of those exercises, sometimes as many as 3 (5 minutes; 5 minutes; 10 minutes); and read them aloud to each other, usually with fits of laughter and giggles, and occasionally with jaw-dropping awe inspired by the remarkable and beautiful variations - or similarities -  in each other's creative process and experience. It's a great way to loosen up the cogglewebs in your brain.  Even if the most you can come up with at a time is a few sentences that seem to go nowhere, it's a fabulous and helpful exercise for quick, risk-free experiments in plot and language.  Everything is material.  Here's the website for Ellen's "writer's workout" in Southern California:  Ellen Snortland

What kind of examples of religion in pop culture are there?

Almost none.

Pop culture either:
+ Ignores religion completely
+ Implies that religion is it old fashioned and worthless
+ Implies that religion is dangerous

A proper exposure to God and religion can help to counteract the brainwashing that popular culture is constantly throwing at all of us in books, movies, TV, songs, advertisements, and even video games.

Popular culture is constantly bombarding us with intensive, not-so-forcible indoctrination, aimed at setting up worldly convictions and attitudes.

Popular culture comes at us from all directions including books, movies, TV, songs, advertisements, video games and even the Internet.

A few of the these immoral values include:
- Lust and Sex (outside of marriage)
- A disrespect for God and religion
- A disrespect for lawful authority
- A disrespect for our human dignity
- Envy, greed and consumerism
- Anger and Violence
- Drug abuse including smoking and alcohol
- Vanity, outside is more important than inside
- Prejudice and hate

With love in Christ.

Do most Europeans, both intellectual and regular, view American culture as inferior, and/or vulgar?

Some do. Especially younger, university age Europeans and harder left-wing followers do, as they are more likely to buy into European myths of “The Grand March of European Culture”, i.e., the notion that the world is coming forth from a violent and bloody past into a peaceful and cleaner, more ordered future led, always, by Europe; and thus the way they view things selects aspects of the USA to emphasize or not.Furthermore, I’ve found that Europeans that lean left tend to vilify and distort America beyond all recognition; while right-leaning Europeans actually idealize it a little bit, which also distorts it. I’m always surprised when I go back to America to find that it’s just…well, kind of normal feeling and is neither the horrific place it is depicted to be by news sources (many of which actually come from American sources.) nor the shining example of libertarian grace that right-wing people would have us think. The majority of people go on with their lives in both places and don’t spend too much time thinking about it; but America is pretty much always on the TV as entertainment in Europe — and the way it is presented is often , frankly, skewed. It is not uncommon to take American news sources(which are already biased and untrustworthy as it is), translate them into the local tongue, but leave out important bits of information that leave the viewer shaking their head in wonder at “those crazy Americans.” I’ve seen this more than once. But to be fair, I’m sure if you observe internet behaviour on international forums (and Quora is one of them) you will find that there are many Americans who have extremely warped and distorted visions of Europe as well…perhaps even more warped and distorted because Europe is NOT always on the TV in the USA and their distortions are direct political distortions that have been fed to them by the leaders of whatever side they follow. At least there are more grains of truth in Europe’s distortions of the USA.But as far as culture goes, high European culture like opera, classical music is not really all that popular in Europe; certainly not much more popular than it is in an American big city; so the superiority that some Europeans might feel with regards to that is not because they like it more or know anything about it: it’s just because they have been taught in a Eurocentric way that presumes, as a matter of course, that European culture is automatically superior to American culture (or Asian, or whatever.)
