Im Writing A Story And I Need A Name

Im writing a story and i need names for an elf....?

Okay his character can have any of these qualities and a suitable name to go with it : misunderstood, strong, mysterious, gentle, dark, swift...and the name mustn't be hard to pronounce and should sound hot...and remember, HIS an elf....no rude comments, please...

I'm writing a story and I need to figure out a name for a group of supernatural hunters. What would a good name be?

The hunters of Artemis. The hunters are BOSS, alright? Let me tell you; They’re from greek myth, hence the name Artemis within their title. Artemis is the goddess of the moon and the hunt. Her hunters are the semi-immortal (they can die in battle) women she hunts and fights alongsid. The reason why it's women specifically is because she is an eternal maiden, and prefers to keep around women who won't go for her.Only two noted men were in the hunters of Artemis: One of them was kicked out because he wanted to love Artemis in a non-platonic matter. The other was murdered by Aphrodite (goddess of love) because she was angry over the fact that these two immortal powerful forces refused to fall in love with one another... in other words the guy was the perfect package, hot and smart and stuff and the princess of the world was mad that he wouldn't go for the pretty moon lady.He was later brought back to life by Apollo, Artemiss twin, though he didn't resume being apart of the hunters because it was unfair. Apollo couldn't just toy with the fates and bring anyone he wanted back to life. Which means males can be apart of the hunters, but it's not common. These women that are within the guidelines of the hunt fight along Artemis and keep their eternal life so long as they remain honorable in the eyes of the olympians and abstain from marriage, dating, etc. They are literally some of the coolest hunters out there, male or female.

I'm writing a story and i need names for my characters!?

When you are writing fiction the story is coming from within you and the names should come from your subconscious as well. It will mean nothing if someone gives you a name. Names in stories match in some way the personality of the character. Only you know the personality of the character. I suggest that you take some quiet time, a pen and paper and think, about each character one by one. Really get a feel for the person that they are in your mind and then one by one ask them what their name is, and they will tell you. Good Luck.

I make up people myself and I know if a name is right or not when I hear it. We often have know people by a name and that name doesn't seem to fit the character because it is colored by our memory of the first person we knew with that name. I hope this is helpful.

Also as the person above me said, the time frame that the people live in is important. You will want to be aware as well of the religion of the person or community. For example if you are writing about an Amish family, most everyone will have a name from the Bible. So look at the person, their family, the community they live in, and the time and country.

Im making a story and need a girls name any ideas?

Brenda?

I'm writing a story about vampires. I need beautiful last names that sound like they could be from the 1800's.?

Here are some websites I came across after typing "19th century surnames" into a search engine:

http://www.hallrichard.com/surnames.htm
http://www.shtetlinks.jewishgen.org/Suchostaw/sl_suchostaw_surnames.htm
http://www.irishmidlandsancestry.com/content/family_history/surnames/19cen_names.htm

The third website is my favorite, and should offer you a wide variety of possible surnames for 19th century vampires...if in fact that is what you are writing about.

I'm writing a story and i need last names for my characters PLEASE HELP!!!?

Olivia,

If you want some unique names from various nationalities, here’s a little trick. Do what I do. Get one of your DVD's and go directly to the credits. Don't bother with the cast, but go to the people behind the scenes. Best Boy, Lighting Crew, Sound Crew, Hairdressers, Assistants, etc... I take a first name and marry it up with another last name. This is a great way to get away from the hum drum names that simply come to mind. It takes a little time, but it’s well worth it. It’s a great way to come up with names for various creatures of the night, too. Vampires, Werewolves, Witches, Demons, etc…

I'm very bad at writing stories and making up names for my characters. Is there any website or tips to help me with my problems?

I myself have received this information not too long ago, so I’m not guaranteeing anything.I have a suggestion.Try writing something. Anything. Until you believe it’s the best you can make. Then, show someone you trust who doesn’t sugarcoat what you made. Accept whatever criticism they give, even if it makes you cringe. Since you’re most likely going to present a story to the general public (I highly doubt a writer writes just to stare at his writing and doesn’t show anyone), the opinion of someone from that general public would be useful.Try reading classic literature. Like romantic classics or whatever you fancy. Try looking for books made before 2000. You can learn a thing or two about how you can effectively convey emotions in dialogue or how to develop a character. No guarantees though. When trying to make up a character’s name, you can be like Ace Attorney and be corny with it (Dick Gumshoe => basically Detective Detective, Frank Sahwit => Frank Saw It) or have a deeper meaning behind it. I can’t think of any but I’m sure you can find some with a quick search. Or maybe just use a random name generator. If you have a specific question, PM me. I wouldn’t mind. I’ve written a few decent stories before. Though, I’m still learning myself.

Writing a story, need faction names and unique creature ideas/names?

Dang all those negative responses :( I'm sorry but they do have a point. I understand Wattpad has a reputation for either new found author gems or cheesy fan fictions. If you are the first or some one in between them you shouldn't be asking random people.
Here's what you should do:
I know names can be a hassle or something you want to get done quickly but you should really spend at least a day researching and finding the names you want.
Think about the cultural significance, race, meaning within the character that might affect the plot or foreshadowing.
Good luck ??
