Ramadan: who was the first and ONLY person born inside the ka'bah?
I quote from: Translation of Sahih Muslim, Book 10: The Book of Transactions (Kitab Al-Buyu`) Book 010, Number 3662: A hadith like this has been transmitted on the authority of Hakim b. Hizam (Imam Muslim) said: Hakim b. Hizam was born inside the Ka'ba and lived for one hundred and twenty years. ============== Hakim ibn Hazm was the name of that man. History has recorded that he is the only person who was born inside the Kabah itself. In reply to the statement: "The idea was to show that Imam Ali's birth in the Ka'bah was a great virtue [for him]" It is not authentically reported that Sayyiduna `Ali - Allah ennoble his face - was born in the Ka`ba. However, it is firmly established that the Companion Hakim ibn Hizam ibn Khuwaylid ibn `Abd al-`Uzza ibn Qusay al-Qurashi was born in the Ka`ba, as Imam Muslim stated in his Sahih (Kitab al-Buyu`, Bab al-Sidq fi al-Bay` wa al-Bayan). See also al-Hakim, Mustadrak (1990 ed. 3:549) and Ibn Hajar, al-Isaba (#1802). Hakim ibn Hizam is the first entry in Ibn Mandah's remarkable book, Man `âsha Mi'atan wa `Ishrîna Sanatan min al-Sahâbah "Those of the Companions Who Lived 120 years." They are fourteen - Allah be well-pleased with them: 1. Hakim ibn Hizam (d. 54, Madina) 2. `Asim ibn `Adi al-Badri 3. Huwaytib ibn `Abd al-`Uzza 4. Sa`d ibn Iyas al-Shaybani 5. Makhrama ibn Nawfal 6. Sa`id ibn Yarbu` 7. Sa`d ibn Junada al-`Awfi al-Ansari 8. HASSAN IBN THABIT radyAllahu Ta`ala anh, the poet of the Prophet and the one supported by the Holy Spirit. 9. Abu `Umara `Abd Khayr ibn Yazid 10. Hamnan ibn `Awf 11. al-Muntaji`al-Najdi 12. Nafi` Abu Sulayman al-`Abdi 13. al-Lajlaj 14.
