Immune System And Vitamins

Vitamins for immune system?

My dear sister, obviously you want something that will give you good health, like everyone else.
Please hear me out.

For good health, two issues are involved: A) Physical and B) Spiritual
A) Physical issues:
1. Diet is of prime importance, choose healthy, high fibre foods, eat more whole grains, veggies, nuts, fruits, white meats (chicken and fish), drink non-chlorinated water (preferably mineral)
2. Minimise consumption of deep-fried foods, red meats, sugar-sweetened drinks, processed foods
3. Take supplements: vitamins A, B complex, C, D3 and E and a good multivite (Supradyn by Bayer)
4. Exercise by taking brisk walks and deep breaths of fresh morning air
5. Get enough rest and sleep: Take time to admire the roses, pat the dog (keep a pet), enjoy your kids. Have a good night's sleep.
6. Control your emotions, get rid of anger, frustration, resentment -- all negative ones which result in damage to the organs.
7. Avoid tobacco and excessive alcohol

B) Spiritual issues
1. Spend daily time in prayer, thanking the Lord for His goodness and mercy
2. Love the Lord by walking in obedience to His precepts
3. Love your neighbour, be pleasant and helpful to them
4. Avoid anger, hatred, resentment, bitterness because these are against God's teachings
5. Seek the Lord for help with your finances (He is your Provider)
6. Seek the Lord for healing of sickness and diseases (He is the Divine Healer)
7. Pray and do not give up, trust in the Lord with all your heart and He will make your paths straight.

All this will build up your immune system and you will not succumb easily to infections and disease.

Many people have received their healings from these 2 ministries.

Be blessed

Which vitamins help boost your immune system?

C for one. And you can probably not overdose it either. Make sure you get a good quality source free of sugars and other nasty stuff. Like the ones desolve foaming in water are usually containing more bad stuff than good stuff for instance. Also be aware of coatings on pills. The RDI is also redicilusly low.

How does vitamin C help the immune system?

Vitamin C is an important part of your body’s basic building functions and its disease prevention and protection system. Vitamin C is an antioxidant that can help block damage from free radicals. Vitamin C also increases the absorption of iron. Vitamin C is critical to collagen production, a protein that binds cells together and is the building block of connective tissues throughout the body. It’s necessary for growing and repairing tissues all over the body. Vitamin C boosts your immune system and increases white blood cell production as well. It even aids in healing wounds and the repairing and maintaining healthy cartilage, bones and teeth. When your body is healing from infection, injury, disease or surgery, the body needs large amounts of vitamin C.

Studies are ongoing on how Vitamin C can better help our bodies heal. Recent research indicates that vitamin C and vitamin E work synergistically having a greater effect together than separately. Studies also show that Vitamin C is a powerful protection against many illnesses and medical conditions, including heart disease, high cholesterol, high blood pressure, common cold, osteoarthritis, obesity and weight loss, cataracts, age-related macular degeneration, diabetes, Alzheimer’s disease and other kinds of dementia. Research shows that while vitamin C will not cure these conditions, it may help prevent them from occurring, or slow progression

Why is vitamin C useful for the immune system?

I'm not sure how familiar you are with the working of the immune system, so I'll start from scratch. The immunity in our bodies comes from very special and diverse cells in the blood. These cells come to the blood from either our bone marrow or lymphatic system, which have certain special cells called pluripotent stem cells that can develop into almost any specialized cell of our bodies. These stem cells undergo a lot of differentiation and 'training' before entering our blood stream, just as a soldier undergoes training before joining the army. One of these immune system cells is called a T-lymphocyte. It is a lymphocyte because it developed from the lymphatic system and the 'T' indicates that it was 'trained' in the thymus gland. These T-lymphocytes (or T-cells) further are of different types, based on certain proteins present on their surfaces. These proteins are like anchor sites for microbes that enter our bodies. A certain type of T-cells can engulf a small microbe like a bacterium when it anchors to the cell, drawn to it by chemical interactions. After the bacterium is engulfed, the T-cell produces highly reactive ions of oxygen, called superoxide and peroxide, to kill these microbes.Unfortunately, these reactive oxygen species are harmful to the T-cell too, so they need a mechanism to defend themselves. This is where vitamin C or ascorbic acid comes in. It reacts with the excess superoxide/peroxide left in the T-cell and prevents the T-cell from being harmed by its own weapon.A similar process occurs in another immune cell called a macrophage, which originates from the bone marrow instead of the lymphatic system. So basically, the vitamin C molecules prevent T-cells and macrophages from being killed by the reactive oxygen species they produce to fight microbes.

Does vitamin D3 boost the immune system?

http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/... Vitamin D and the Immune SystemIt is now clear that vitamin D has important roles in addition to its classic effects on calcium and bone homeostasis. As the vitamin D receptor is expressed on immune cells (B cells, T cells and antigen presenting cells) and these immunologic cells are all are capable of synthesizing the active vitamin D metabolite, vitamin D has the capability of acting in an autocrine manner in a local immunologic milieu. Vitamin D can modulate the innate and adaptive immune responses. Deficiency in vitamin D is associated with increased autoimmunity as well as an increased susceptibility to infection. As immune cells in autoimmune diseases are responsive to the ameliorative effects of vitamin D, the beneficial effects of supplementing vitamin D deficient individuals with autoimmune disease may extend beyond the effects on bone and calcium homeostasis.Vitamin D has a remarkable role to play in your health, influencing nearly 3,000 of your 25,000 genes, and playing a critical role in your immune response -- a role far superior to the synthetic (and often harmful) immune responses that vaccines elicit. Vitamin D could rightly be described as a “miracle nutrient” for your immune system, as it enables your body to produce well over 200 antimicrobial peptides, which are indispensable in fighting off a wide range of infections.Key feature of immune system survived in humans, other primates for 60 million years

Do multivitamins boost your immune system?

I wouldn't necessarily say that they "boost" your immune system but they do contain vitamin C.D. and E which are all great for supporting your immune system. They are meant to be taken as a supplement to your already healthy diet. So they certainly dont do any harm but they are not a wonder drug for immunity. Believe it or not, orange juice is kinda the super drug ! lol...one or two glasses a day plus a good multivitamin will work wonders for you. Honestly.
