How did President Roosevelt act during the 1902 coal miners' strike in Pennsylvania?

C.

It was the first labor episode in which the federal goverment intervened as a neutral arbitrator. See last sentence, first paragraph.

Roosevelt was neutral, he supported neither side. He created a commission (a neutral arbitrator) whose purpose was to come up with a "mediated solution" between the mine owners and the mine workers.

Why are military personnel and trainers so disrespectful to ivy league graduates entering as officers?

Clearly this isn't a rule, and it's not 100%, but it's a fact that when an ivy league graduate enters the US military, he is often times disrespected and treated very differently. Through training, they usually single him/her out. They put much of the duties on his/her shoulders and do just about everything they can to set them up to fail.

I know when I was a marine ivy league graduates were so few and far that as soon one showed up, many of my peers would do anything they could to get them to fail.

The actual outcomes of ivy league graduates entering the US military as officers and the extra work usually thrown on them and the disrespect has led many ivy league campuses to remove their ROTC programs and try to get their students to stay out of the military.

Clearly ivy grads can have positive impacts on the military, but other soldiers (for what ever reason) treat them in some detrimental way. They go beyond just not showing respect, they actually disrespect these grads because of their degree and intelligence. Trainers often times single them out until they either break and fail or some how miraculously make it.

Why are ivy grads treated this way in the US military (especially marine corps or army special forces). (Look up some of the things that were done to ivy grads who became officers and went to army ranger training).

Are the soldiers jealous? Just mad?

Military went from actively recruiting out of ivy league schools (like harvard) and becoming a near necessity for a political career to today, recruiting out of bottom tier public high schools w/ threats like (and this is a fact, some army recruiters were telling high school students this) "if you do not join the military you will never become anything".

Has the reduced standards of admission into the US military filled it with the same individuals who chastised intelligent individuals in high school? IE "Nerd".
