What does it mean to tag someones photo in facebook?

As said, tagging means labeling the people in the pictures with their name. That way, when you scroll your mouse across the picture, you can see who is who.

Also, when you tag people (or people tag you), it shows up in that persons pictures, as "Added by Others." That way not only the pictures you've uploaded yourself appear under your pictures, but any other picture you're in as well. It also immediately alerts the person by e-mail (unless you've opted out of that feature) that a picture of them has appeared on facebook.

However, the one who posted a picture has the power to tag it. If you want to tag yourself, you recognize others in the picture that aren't tagged, or perhaps the person who uploaded the picture doesn't have the person in the picture as a friend, you have the power to tag other people's picture. The owner of the picture has the ability to take down the tags, but that rarely happens unless you added something incorrect or plain mean.

If someone tags a horrible picture of you, you can "untag" the picture. The picture stays up, but it's no longer connected to your facebook. If you want the picture taken down, ask the person or report it.

Hope that helps!

If you tag a photo of you and a friend to Facebook, but he doesn't allow it to show on his timeline, does it imply that he actually doesn't like you?

About the one hand tag you need to make yourself extremely accessible, so that new friends will find you and you will expand your system. On the additional hand, though, you would like your privacy -- and sometimes, Facebook’s interest within learning about you may be a little about the creepy side.Just to illustrate? Tagging. Tagging customers and pages within photos and standing updates creates paths, whether you want to buy to or not really. And because there are a wide variety of rules for exactly how tags work - and thus many differences in between how it works for any person and exactly how it works for any page - it may be tough to make certain that you’re doing this right. So at this time, I’m taking a closer consider the ins and outs associated with tagging photos upon Facebook. You might keep in mind that back in 04 I showed you the various ways to label people and pages inside your status updates, but photos work just a little differently, and understanding those differences could make using Facebook and staying away from the creep factor  much easier.

If you tag yourself in a photo on Facebook, does it show up in your friends' news feed?

Yes

Why can't my Facebook fans tag themselves in my page's photo albums?

1.) According to Carolyn Ellis: "Solution: To tag friends and people in Facebook fanpage posts, photos and post descriptions:Go to the photo or post on your fanpage timeline that you are wishing to tag people in. Make sure you are on the page as your personal page, NOT the fanpage ( to go onto your fanpage as your personal page, type the name of your fanpage in search while using your personal account).LEFT click on the photo or post on the timeline wall (don't right click to enlarge). Select Open link in new window. Then you can tag people in the photo and also in the post description in that new window."Done.2.) So, in plain English, this would be:"Facebook tagging links a person, page, or place to something you post, like a status update, photo or app activity. Tagging is a useful feature because it:Notifies a friend or Page when you post something that pertains to them, letting them know that they were mentioned;Makes the post more visible because it appears in the news feed and timeline of the friend or page you tagged (if the person has set the post to be visible to friends or public). [In other words], when a friend or page is notified that they have been tagged, it increases engagement because they are more likely to comment on or like the activity in which they have been tagged. Without tagging, you could post a nice comment but your friend or the Page owners may never know they were mentioned. However, since your entire post including associated comments is automatically posted onto the wall of whichever friend/Page is tagged, there is an unspoken etiquette of Facebook Tagging that you need to understand." - Posted on Facebook on Apr. 29, 2012Source: Facebook Tagging - How it Works for Timelines and Pages

Why can't I tag my friends in my Facebook page photos?

As per I am concerned, according to Facebook Guidelines, you should only tag a person in a photo only it has something to do with him/her.So, coming to the point, if you are regular Facebook user, you might be knowing that Facebook has several options/features which can be used when it comes about tagging. Its really a irritating moment when your friends tag you in a stupid meme or a photo which really has no link with you, for these situations many users set up a system called “Approving/Reviewing Tags”. This feature actually facilitates them to check and approve that who actually can tag them on Facebook, in fact, if they do not approve the tags, they are further asked to un-tag them from the post, if they like. In this way, even after your several trials, everything goes in vain.Lets assume another case, if someone do not approve but do not un-tag too, then in that case, the post is not directly visible on his/her profile. But, this doesn't remove the existance exactly, the post is still sometime visible on the someone’s (friends and their own) Facebook wall, etc.I hope this has cleared some of your doubts, for more help click here > Tagging | Facebook Help Center | FacebookPlease UPVOTE if you liked my answer & follow me……….

Why doesn't Facebook allow to tag some one twice in a post/comment?

I don't know, but you can tag a person multiple times in a post/comment if you use the internal tag format. To do this, type @[fbid:name]. For example, you can tag Mark Zuckerberg using @[4:Mark Zuckerberg]. You can copy and paste this kind of tag as many times as you want in your post/comment, and each one will become an actual tag once you submit it. Caveats:You can't tag people by username, only by ID. So using "zuck" in place of "4" above wouldn't work. You can't use an invalid name. You can tag Mark Zuckerberg in this way as "Mark", "Zuckerberg", or "Mark Zuckerberg", but you can't tag him as "Bob". If you try to do it, it defaults to the full name.As far as I know, there is no way to tag someone multiple times in a photo.

Girlfriend removes her tags from facebook photos, is she hiding our relationship?

Well, it depends. Are there any other pictures of you two on either your Facebook or hers where you look like your together, or where your tagged? It's quite possible that she just didnt like the way she looked in the pictures, i've untagged myself in photo's for that reason, or maybe she lied to a friend about being at that party, or that she possibly just doesn't want to be seen on a social networking site partying, since it is easy for family and future employers to see them as inappropriate and unprofessional.

A Facebook friend uploaded photos and tagged me, but the photos do not appear on my photo page. Why?

You are not able to see photos in which you tagged because your settings not allowed it.I suggest you to change your Facebook settings number 3 and 5( from the top) and Set it to off button.Change the setting is the only one way because if you are using facbook in app you're not able to review posts because F.B. app restrict your some activity. But If you are using Facebook in browser there's no need to change your settings because when someone tage you or post on your timeline you will get notification on to review post.Image source: mobile gallery
