Jacob was concerned about obtaining the birthright, and at the age of 97 his wrestling all night with an angel to get a blessing showed that he truly appreaciated sacred things. God blessed Jacob's physical and emotional efforts because, Jacob and Rachel kept Jehovah's will in focus and they cherished their heritage. They earnestly prayed for his blessing and they took positive actions to work in harmony with God's will and their prayers.
