What are some good anime movies to watch?
The list can never be exhaustive. Different people have different interests and are inclined towards their preferred genre. I tried to include some of the movies that are from different genres.Grave of the Fireflies: It is an animated Japanese film released in 1988. Pretty old, huh? But the emotions it depicts are timeless. It is somewhat of tragic nature but it tries to invoke sympathy in people for those affected by war. A must watch.Perfect Blue: A psychological thriller anime film that came in 1997. Anything about the story-line will be spoiler. Just Recommended.Your Name: Again, a Makoto Shinkai masterpiece! It is a 2016 Japanese animated film adapted and directed by Makoto Shinkai. It is one of the most successful anime movies ever made. The film achieved the second largest gross for a domestic film in Japan. It is a blend of gorgeous, realistic detail and emotionally grounded fantasy.Howl’s Moving Castle: It is one of the most commercially successful Japanese films ever made. Soon after its release, it became the third most financially successful film in Japan. One for the action-lovers.5 Centimeters Per Second: Makoto Shinkai is the king in aesthetics and romance. He knows how to nail it. The film was awarded Best Animated Feature Film at the 2007 Asia Pacific Screen Awards. It gives a realistic view of the struggles many of us face against: time, space, people, and love. It leaves you wanting more. My Favorite. :)Watch any of these or all of these. They are great, and makes you fall in love with anime. :)

This is strictly my opinionHotarubi No More eThe story is about a young girl who gets attached to a forest spirit at a very young age.She visits the forest every summer vacation as it is near here relative’s house. After a couple of years she develops romantic feelings towards the spirit.The catch is that if the spirit is touched by a human it will disappear .This movie is a personal favourite and very touchingAkiraThis is the movie which brought Japanese anime to the world. It takes place in a post apocalyptic Neo-Tokyo after World War 3,it deals with the psyche of the characters very well, the character development is very good.The movie depicts how power can corrupt even good men.Spirited AwayA masterclass by none other than Miyazaki,it deals with the adventure of a young who stumbles upon the spirit world by a mere coincidence.The protagonist Chihiro is a smart and brave girl,she feels a bit empty and lonely as her parents are moving.Her experiences in the spirit world will leave you amazed and thrilled,this movie is a must watch for avid new anime fans.Princess MononokeAnother one of Miyazaki’s bestThe story revolves around Prince Ashitaka of a forgotten clan and Princess Mononoke of the spirit forest.Ashitaka is being overtaken by a demon and he must go to the forest for answers,but the forest is full of mystical creatures both dangerous and harmless.This movie portrays the ongoing conflict between the humans and the forest beautifully.The animation is very good and the plot is excellent.Grave of the firefliesAs World War 2 reaches its conclusion in 1945 ,Japan faces widespread destruction.The journey of Seito and his sister is Setsuko is ravaged by the war .The plot is nothing short of breathtaking and will definitely bring you to tears.One of the best anime movies ever.These are my presonal favourites and I hope you like it too
