In The Book Bridge To Terabithia What About The Tone And Word Choice Would Change If The Narrator

What book made you cry and why?

I am a bit choosy when it comes to my life. I choose people, things and books in my life very wisely, so that I get the best. When Breath Becomes Air was really a one of them that didn’t disappoint me but kept the promise that I had with it before I bought it. Well, it is not just a book that made me cry but gave me a lot to ponder upon.I went to the end of the book and I couldn’t hold my tears back. They were all over my shirt and the book. It was completely hazy. The fact that the writer Paul Kalanithi died before completing the book and it was then completed by his wife. The fact that this book elicited such a reaction in me really speaks to its power as a piece of literature and how much of an impression Kalanithi makes. This book is not meant to be read in front of people. Trust me, you won’t be able to hold back your tears. It was such an overwhelming experience from the book. This book really left me in tears. What a talent! What a loss!He was diagnosed with terminal cancer when he was on the verge of making big contributions to the society in fields on neuroscience. He was a good writer indeed with two English literature degrees from Stanford. His journey as a doctor and as a patient is depicted so flawlessly in the book that it leaves an indelible mark on your mind & soul. Definitely, one of the best non-fiction books I have read so far.Just a small peep into the book and adding some quotes which I found so perfect.“You can’t ever reach perfection, but you can believe in an asymptote toward which you are ceaselessly striving.”“We shall rise insensibly, and reach the tops of the everlasting hills, where the winds are cool and the sight is glorious.”“If the unexamined life was not worth living, was the unlived life worth examining?”“Suffering can make us callous to the obvious suffering of another.”“all have a notion of what it means to be good, and we can’t live up to it all the time.”“life’s meaning, its virtue, had something to do with the depth of the relationships we form.”“The fact of death is unsettling. Yet there is no other way to live.”I am sure I would read When Breath Becomes Air again as I am sure I would have deeper insights the second time around. We try to find the real meaning of life whole our lives. But, on this journey, we tend to forget who we are. Life is short and unpredictable. Take a moment, cheer up and spend time with your loved ones. Tell them that you love them. You never know what happens next!
