Inflammation Under Arm Pit .

Painful red lumps under my armpit ?

I have about 3 red quarter size painful lumps under my armpit. The lump is under the skin. It hurts pretty bad even to touch it. What is it and how do I make it go away??? They also come and go. They'll be gone for a couple weeks and will come back for weeks. This time its more bothersome than before.

Sore spots & rash under only one armpit?

it could still be caused by your antiperspirant even though it isnt occouring bilaterally. Antiperspirant can clog the pores and cause lumps and sore spots to form. and the blotchyness is probably irritation caused from these sores. another issure is skin tags, which are caused by ill fitting undergarments rubbing on your skin.
so i would suggest changing deodorants, maybe a non antiperspirant, and checking that nothing is causing excessive rubbing.
and its never a bad idea to go to a doctor when something persists, especially if you try changing things to make it go away.

What should I do if my armpit hurts after a flu shot?

TL;DR: I’m not a doctor. If it’s only been a few days after the vaccination and you can control the pain with aspirin or ibuprofen you’re probably fine. If it lasts longer, go see your doctor, just to be sure.I am not a physician so please take my assessment of the situation with caution until someone with an MD as verified it. I’d like to think that I know why you might be feeling discomfort in your armpits, however. There are lymph nodes all over your body, you’ll usually not notice them when your healthy but when your body is fighting an infection they can swell up and become noticeable. You might have noticed some swelling below your lower jaw when you have a cold. That is because your immune system is becoming activated, cells divide and differentiate to fight an infection, and because the site of the infection, your nose and throat, is close to those lymph nodes. There are lymph nodes in your arm pit as well, which are very close to the injection site. The vaccine is meant to prime an immune response so it makes sense that the draining lymph nodes swell up, as your immune system goes to work. Your arm presses against the lymph nodes as they hang down against your chest, so it would make sense that you could feel some pain after the vaccination. This is seemingly not very uncommon, together with redness and swelling at the injection site, even feeling a bit like having caught a cold. All this happens because the flu vaccine does its job, which is to prime your immune response. If your symptoms last longer than a few days or you’re developing an allergic response, go see your doctor immediately. I suspect you’ll be fine though.Do let us know in the comments when you got the shot and if you have any other symptoms. Get well soon!

Bladder infection w/ swollen lymph nodes?

I am having a weird series of events. I was going in for a routine pap smear this past Friday, but the night before, I awoke in the middle of the night with a high fever and the chills. I had to take Ibuprofen to break the fever. Before that, I had developed a lump on the back of my neck, which I assumed was just a knotted muscle from working out. And even before the lump on my neck, I had noticed some pretty sharp lower back pain. I didn't know if any of these symptoms were related, so I mentioned them to my doctor after the pap smear. She did a bunch of tests, including a blood test and a urinalysis. And, when she felt around my neck area and collarbone, she noticed a couple more swollen lymph nodes. I go for a cat scan on Wednesday of my abdomen and pelvic area. However, they did a quick dipstick test in my urine and had a prescription sent over to the pharmacy that day for an antibiotic. The results of the quick urinalysis test was that I had some lukocytes, some nitrate, and a little protein in my urine signaling a bladder infection. The doctor put me on Bactrim, and I have noticed that a small amount of the swelling in my lymph nodes are going down and my lower back feels a lot better. However, I am kind of worried..I know fevers and swollen lymph nodes indicate infections, but would a bladder infection cause swollen lymph nodes prominently on the back of my neck and glands? I did just get over a sinus infection not too long before this-- could it be residual symptoms from my sinus infection as well?

I will get my test results back probably in a week or two, but until then, does this diagnosis seem right?

What causes armpits to be sore?

Hello,Soreness of the armpits can have a (limited) number of causes. It is possible to get swollen lymph nodes in the armpits. (Axillary lymphadenopathy: Unilateral Axillary Lymphadenopathy) This is very common with various simple infections, such as the viruses that cause colds and the flu. If you feel in your armpit and detect a few soft, round, mobile lumps, then these are probably lymph nodes and this is most likely what is going on. A common cause is a painful, red lump on the skin, which may grow into an abscess. I constantly have very inflamed lymph nodes...could this be a sign of something serious?

I always have had painful large and inflamed lymph nodes specifically under my right arm pit and my neck. I'm not sure why they;re like this, but if you know any thing that might help that would be great. I don't think its anything bad, but in the back of my mind I think of possibly maybe lymphoma but thats just me most likely taking it to the extremes. Anyway thanks!
