Ingrown Hairs For About 3-5 Years.

Laser hair removal on ingrown hairs?

You can shave over it or pop it, it doesn't matter
As long as you don't pull out the hair you're good =)

Okay... science answer:

You grow in at least 80% of your hair during puberty. When you have laser hair removal the hairs it kills will never grow again. But you still have up to 20% of your normal thickness that will grow in throughout the rest of your life. So people get touch up sessions every 3-5 years after their big 6 treatments. You need about 6 treatments, one each 2 months for a year, because the hair grows in different stages and it can only kill hair in the active growth stage. The laser works by targeting dark color (the hair follicle) and passing through light color (the skin) the hair and skin have to be very different shades of color for the hair to work. The darker and coarser the hair and lighter the skin, the better results you will have.

Okay... Personal Experience:

I've had 2 out of my 6 treatments so far. It HURTS! It's like being poked with a sewing needle over and over, but it's not as painful as a tattoo, and that's not as painful as childbirth, maybe that can put the pain in perspective for you =) I've had my legs, underarms, and bikini area done. When you get your bikini area done they do ALL of it! Including spreading your butt and vaginal lips apart to laser all the cracks... It's sorta awkward. After the 2 treatments I've had so far I've lost about 60% of leg hair, 40% bikini hair, and 25% underarms hair. It's because the underarms hair is the thinnest and the leg hair is the coarsest. But the legs are the most painful. The more it hurts the better it works.
I spent this much for 6 treatments in each area:
Bikini-$750
Underarms-$750
Legs (toes to bikini)-$2,500

Ingrown Hairs.. for about 3-5 years.?

Hi i've been having ingrown hairs for about 3-5 years and at first i really didnt mind because i never cared. But now that im old enough I understand and im trying to remove them.

Can you tell me or give me any advice about my routine that i have olanned out to do?

1. I will sit in a warm bath for about 10-15 mins for my pores to open, then i will exfoliate with a homemade scrub. ( made out of brown sugar with oil and honey and cinnamon)

2. I will shave my legs with a mens sharp razor with eos shaving cream.
3. i will apply AHA Souffle 12% it's a cream i found on ulta. It says it will basically remove all the dead skin or dead skin cells.
4. OPTIONAL - should i apply witch hazel to relive and calm all of my ingrown hairs or is that what the AHA moisturizer is for?
Im really new at this and i really want to get them off.
(They are on the front of my thighs and the back of my calfs. )
I've been doing research but they all say or show how to remove ONE hair by tweezers.
Thanks, I really appreciate your time.

How can I remove a 5 year old ingrown hair? Please help?

With Boils/Ingrown hair there are a few things you can do. I have found that when treating patients the best thing to do is make sure that it is completely drained (this requires removing a larger portion of skin than if you were to just pop it). At a doctors they can numb it, your options will be limited in ways to numb the area before doing this. After you have it drained and rinsed with water it should be rinsed with an astringent (I would suggest Biore with Tea Tree Oil) it is going to burn bad. You do this because the alcohol will kill off anything in there that causes it to come back. Then the best thing you can do is lather it in lanolin (you can get that at any WalMart in the breast feeding aisle, or buy it from http://www.amazon.com/Australian-Anhydro... where you will get the best kind). Put a band-aid over the lanolin. If you don't want to do lanolin get the band-aids for blisters or the active flex premium. Just keep it clean and keep it covered with one or the other.
I know this is going to hurt, I have treated myself this way before instead of going to the doctors. It works, the skin will heal up and have a weird tint to it, but I've never had a boil or an ingrown hair come back after doing this. Good Luck, I wish you could go to a dermatologist for this, but I understand the no insurance I've been there.

How long should i take Keflex (cephalexin) 500mg for my ingrown hair infection?

keflex may be taken without regard to meals. be sure to finish the medication unless directed
otherwise by your doctor. do not pop the pimple unless the doctor provided you with a
sterile needle. you should begin to see some improvement in 3-5 days. not sure if it will
be completely gone in 7 days. how many keflex were you prescribed? did your doctor
mention soaking in warm water several times a day? do not drink alcohol while takin
keflex as a disulfiram reaction may occur (nausea/vomiting).

Getting Rid Of Vagina Hair?

Honestly, that is NOT an area you want to be messing with yourself. Leave that to the pros. TRUST ME! I speak from experience -.-
If money isn't an issue, just pop a painkiller (cuz it'll hurt at least a bit) and go to a place to get it done. Don't worry about the awkwardness. Just tell yourself, those ladies see hundreds of vaginas every week; it's their job, they are very professional and friendly. They get that it's a tricky procedure haha xD

If you're set on doing it yourself, I really like Persian Cold Wax. It comes in a tub and it's good for several rounds (I use it on my legs and one tub takes care of both legs with a bit left over). And it's around $10, Canadian.

I'd say the best thing is to just stick to shaving in that particular area. Get a good shaving gel and lotion for the burn or any ingrown hairs you might have. I've heard witch hazel prevents them but I've never tried it myself. Another option is, if you have the money, invest in laser hair removal. It'll take care of that problem for years.

Good luck!!

I'm suffering from PCOD and I have the problems shown below. What should I do?

PCOS is extremely depressing condition and I'm a fellow sufferer. The main pathology is insulin resistance caused by excess weight especially truncal and PCOS itself causes weight gain so it's kind of a vicious circle. The first thing u need to do is see a good endocrinologist ..u might need to check ur thyroid status too since it's quite common to have both then get a proper treatment plan. Metformin might b prescribed to u which helps greatly in insulin resistance and weight loss when accompanied with exercise and good diet plan. Second most important thing is exercise put in at least 1 hour of cardio in ur routine with sincerity. Take care of ur diet if needed seek help from a nutritionist. Low glycemic index foods are advised, reduce carbs, eat healthy. Now the dermatology issues there's a possibility if u having testerone excess... Laser is a good tool to combat with unwanted hair problem though expensive. U can always find a licensed dermatologist with reduced prices especially if u take large area packages. And they are any day better than high end beauty clinics offering laser services. A few times in a year they even give discounts so keep looking for that. Stretch marks are the worst to deal with ... Nothing can make them disappear only appearance can b improved tht too will b dealt by a dermatologist. There are laser and chemical peels which improve their appearance especially the new ones. For hair fall ... Once ur PCOS (and thyroid) is controlled there will b remarkable improvement. Till then u can use biotin (at least 10 mg) containing multivitamin once a day. If the combination is expensive buy a simple multivitamin n biotin separately. U can even use aminaexil 1.5% and minoxidil 2% combination locally on ur scalp helps immensely with the new thicker hair growth. Reduce stress!!!In short .... See an endocrinologist and dermatologist ASAP Work out Diet B confident n happy...This phase will pass if u take care of yourself and let no one tell u tht u r not beautiful. I hope I'm of some help here!! Take care !!

How can i remove hair from between my legs?

Try a 3" scissors, but you need someone to help you, you're 15, you may end up cutting yourself!

Females: "Going Brazilian increase your odds of an external infection where the hair grows. Shaving and waxing can make the skin angry and irritated the more hair you take off the greater your risks. A bad cellulitis infection on her labia a patient went to ER, they were swollen the size of a golf ball. A little lawn maintenance is fine". ~ Glamour 2-13
Pubic hair shaving incidents landed nearly 12,000 people in the E.R. in recent years.

Of 30 cases of STMC that presented at a private French dermatology practice from January to March of last year, 93 percent were in patients who had removed their pubic hair. The vast majority saved; 10% waxed).
The dermatologists saw 6 women, 24 men, and a bunch of lesions -- which were "located on the pubis with extension on the abdomen in four cases and legs in one." Six patients also had ingrown hairs. Four had genital warts, indicators of papillomavirus. Two had folliculitis, and another had a benign cyst. One had scars. The Atlantic. MAR 19 2013
