That's because you already set up your phone number and it doesn't let you change it. Just try to remember what number you used and look for your phone there. Why does Instagram keep asking me to verify my account?
So Instagram keeps on asking me to verify my account by providing a phone number so that they can send me a security code. Now, I don't have a phone so I used my friends. So far I have tried over 4 times and it doesn't work. Like it tells me to make a new password so I do that but on the step of the verifying my email when I press submit, it says page not found. Like why would the page not be found ugh can somebody please please help me :(

That is not Instagram’s code for security checks. The phone is a good way of saying you are who you say you are. An email is easily breached or copied, a phone is much harder to do.
