Internet Service Provider Suggestions

Internet service providers?

Hello, I have been looking for a new service provider. Due to home security systems I am limited to certain ones for compatibility reasons.

Right now I have Quest, other options are :
ATT Call Vantage
BB Telesystems
Broadvoice
Cox Communications
Earthlink
ECR Voice
ITP

are any of these better then Quest? Which one is the best overall?

I really appreciate any help I could get. Thanks

Internet Service Provider?

My husband and I are shopping around but I m overwhelmed. We have Brighthouse in our area now. Here s the deal: it s just the two of us, we DO NOT WANT a bundle, we never watch TV so that s useless. I want decent enough internet to do my online class, blog, social media, and stream movies from our Netflix and Amazon Prime accounts. I don t want to pay a ton, but I want good service too.

UPDATE (January 23, 2019)Don’t exactly remember when it happened, but the speed was increased from 25 Mbps to 40 Mbps. The FUP limit was also increased massively from 100 GB to 450 GB.The highlighted row is the plan I’m currently on. With such a huge boost in the FUP, I’ve never exceeded that value. I do, however, feel that an upgrade is due soon as I’ve been on 40 Mbps for quite some time now.UPDATE (April 01, 2017)In March 2017, Act Corp upgraded my plan again and that was @ no extra cost too. Here is the revised table.UPDATE (November 23, 2016)Beam revised their plans and guess what? My package got upgraded @ no extra cost. Still need reasons to believe my claims?I have to agree with Akhil Kadapalla. ACT Fibernet (FKA Beam Telecom) is the best of the best and it has been so for quite some time now.I remember the time when I decided to opt for Beam in 2005 (I think). I started out on 128 Kbps plan. There are two outstanding things about ACT that you will never get with any other ISP:Service SupportPeriodic free upgradesVery affordable package pricesService Support: I rarely get connection problems and the up-time is always 99.99%. And in the odd cases where I do, the issue is resolved within 24 hours, and sometimes even 12 hours. And they have been doing this consistently over the decade or so.Period Free Upgrades: From time to time, ACT upgrades the package speed at no extra cost. Yes, you read that right. As I said before, I started on 128 Kbps plan and now I'm on 10 Mbps package.Affordable Package Prices: Consider the below plan list of ACT Fibernet:-I rest my case :)

What is internet service provider ? ?

Your "Internet Service Provider" or ISP for short, is the company that services you your internet. Basically the company that gives you an IP address to be able to travel the internet. Your network bridges to their network so that you can traverse the internet. So whoever you are paying for internet, is your internet service provider.

Internet service providers?

That largely depends upon where you live. Some providers are national, others are regional, and some are local. There may be good and not-so-good providers in each category.

Speak with your friends who live near you, and discuss which ISPs they like, which they don't, and why. Make sure the ISP you want provides the type of service you want (such as dial-up, DSL, cable, etc.) and that you live in an area where they provide that service. If you are getting dial-up service, make sure that there is a local phone number for access where you live. Most ISPs have web sites, and some of them are quite useful in finding descriptions about what services they offer and at what prices.

If you travel a lot and you bring your computer with you, you may want to consider an ISP that is regional or national. Be aware that "national" coverage does not necessarily mean that service is available everywhere. This is especially true of rural areas, where most ISPs do not have local phone numbers.

A question about INTERNET SERVICE PROVIDERS!?

Even if you could get the ISP to help you with this request it would give you a completely false sense of security. New web sites pop up every day, all over the world. The ISP would have to monitor this activity and actively update it constantly which they will not do. The ISP is not in the business of providing for the end users security. However there are some fairly good alternatives. I suggest that you check out the following web site to learn more about safe web surfing techniques.

The article is long at 7 pages but it is filled with useful information on keeping kids safer on the net.

Remember that internet browsing safety is the parents responsibility and not the ISP's.

Free internet? :D But on a serious note, I've always believed that a P2P network web like torrent and Tor, which provide you with maximum benefits of sharing amazing content with an equally important aspect of privacy, should be advocated by ISPs. Rather than charging heftily for bandwidth put up a plan where if a customer allots a particular amount of his bandwidth, he would get the benefits of additional data or so on. Will ease the load off the servers too and may prove really beneficial.

Hi Rajesh,This question has been answered already here. Have a look: Who are the best Internet service providers in Hyderabad? We are a startup and my team is in the U.S. I have to collaborate with them on a daily basis. We need high speed and a reliable connection.Cheers!

Internet Providers options?

Right now I have centurylink internet and I have had that internet for about 4 years almost, Throughout my years with them the internet speed has slowed down VERY much and the bill is a little under or a bit over $80 for just internet and Phone, I have 2 Siblings with Laptops including myself and a desktop for my parents, Also and Xbox 360 and well the speed that we get from them just doesn't cut if for online gaming and the use of another Laptop or Desktop. The internet Isn't even able to sustain 2 Running at the same time, For those of you who play online gaming I get a 1 bar or if im lucky a 2 bar connection when just one other internet device is being used like the Laptop or desktop. My parents really want to switch because we don't need the house phone anymore and the internt is slow.
I live in the Northern Indiana area and I would like to know of a good internet provider that is cheap and in the end for Scam with their bills after the first 6 Months or 12 Months. Comcast/Xfinity Has the best reviews in the country but they say its $20 or $30 for the first 6 months, they never say what it will be after that time and Im sure it is well over what the bill for Centurylink is. My family does have ATT as my cellphone provider and they have Cheap internet for $15 to $20 a month But idk if they also have those scams, I am looking for an internet provider that in the End will Be able to Handle atleast 1 gaming system and 2 computers going at the same time with no connection lag or problem.
Any suggestions or Comments on the Comcast/Xfinity or ATT internet?
