Is 104lbs Fat For A Height Of 5

Is 104lbs fat for a height of 5'4?

I'm 13, 5'4 and 104lbs. Don't tell me I am at a healthy weight/overweight by clinical standards, I want to know if I am 'fat' by society's standards. Am I too heavy? If you are of similar age/height, can you tell me how much you weigh, just so I can compare? Thanks x

Im 13 and I weigh 104 lbs.Am I fat?

You are not overweight.Check your BMI (body mass index) here http://www.weight-loss-surgery-or-weight...

Your BMI is what doctors use to determine if you are underweight, normal weight, or overweight.

Your BMI is about 21.6 which is in the normal range. Normal is anywhere from 18.5 to 24.9. And if you are athletic, then you have more muscle mass. And muscle weighs more than fat, so that may be why your BMI is higher than you want.

Hope this helps.

I'm 16 and a guy my height is 5'4 and I weigh like 137 LBS. I have gynecomastia. How do I lose body fat to decrease the appearance?

And at that BMI what makes you think it's fat?  It is usually the fluctuating hormones of puberty.  If the breast tissue lasts longer than a couple of years it is usually permanent.  Before that many have some growth and most lose it before it is permanent.  Then as aging, breast size goes up for all sorts of reasons from fluctuating hormones to medication side effects until all in all 50-70% of all men end up with some degree of enlarged breasts, the largest being at least H cup and the smallest are puffy nipples.  One tenth of 1% of tghe number of men developing gynecomastia each year get surgery, currently 20,000.  Those who get surgery are usually the ones horrified, terrified by it and often develop PTSD around the hell of junior high and high school harassment, phobia type reactions and basically body dysmorphic disorder.  My all means make your diet better and work out. A few do succeed in losing fat and it being the sole cause.  Of course as you grow more muscle under the breasts the more they stick out.    Good luck.

I’m 5’6, 104 lbs and I’m 15. How do I gain weight?

Eat a ton of crap and you’ll gain weight.Well, maybe, but if you want to gain MUSCLE it’s a different story. First of all, you need to be in a calorie surplus. You should be eating maybe 500 hundred more calories per day than you usually do. Those calories should come from stuff like nuts, chicken, rice, that kind of thing. Lots of proteins and carbs.Second, you need to be doing compound lifts. The reason for this is that you’ll get stronger because your using heavier weight, and when you get stronger you gain muscle, the two mostly go hand in hand. The best compound lifts are bench press, deadlifts, squats, rows, and military press. If you don’t have access to barbells and plates, some good substitutions are pushups, pull-ups, and pistol squats. But I would recommend getting a gym membership instead of the second exercises. An important thing is to add weight or repetitions each workout you do. This is called progressive overload, and that’s what helps you gain muscle and strength.

5'1'' and 104lbs, am I fat?

You are definitely not fat. You are at an excellent weight for your age and height. Eat healthy food, get plenty of exercise, don't obsess about weight, and enjoy life.

Can someone be at 97-104 lbs and still have a high body fat of 24-27% even if they look slim?

Absolutely. This all comes down to dietary planning and exercise routines. If someone haphazardly goes into a weight loss journey without a proper plan, it’s possible that they may experience an uneven proportion of diet to working out. When you workout without formulating the necessary diet to accompany your routine, your efforts will be in vain. The explanation to your question, specifically, lies heavily within this mismatched proportions game. If you over workout, but don’t match these efforts with the proper diet, your body will begin to lose muscle mass rather than body fat. So, you will appear to be slimming down, when in reality, you are losing weight… only, not the weight you are looking to lose!I offer diet and cooking advice on my blog. 5 ft tall and 104lbs, is this fat?

I just calculated your BMI and you're about a 20.4, which is perfectly healthy. If you were "fat" as in "overweight" you would have to be over a 25, and you have over 25% body fat, then I would work on it. BMIs can be fairly inaccurate as well. For example, according to the standard BMI graph, my partner is overweight, but he is a track cyclist and has less than 7% body fat. If you are concerned about your body image, you could always tone and build muscle, but I wouldn't be concerned about the number on the scale at all.

I see someone has given all answers thus far 'thumbs down'... Is this the querent? What do you want to hear?!
