Well, first and foremost : EGYPT IS AWESOMEI know how biased that might seem, since I'm Egyptian and all ,but I will prove my point to you in the following sentences.A) The variety we have here is absolutely unmatched:I could go on for pages while addressing that point in particular, so allow me to use the power of the visual instead :1-Pharonic MonumentsAL Karnak Temple — LuxorAbu Sembel Temple — AswanGiza pyramids and Sphinx ( obviously)2-BeachesWe have some extremely gorgeous beachesBlue Hole — DahabMarsa AllamNorth Coast3-Mountains and SafariMount Sinai ( a challenging climb)Siwa Oasis 1Siwa Oasis 2 ( I personally ADORE this place)B) Egypt is relatively cheapThat is to answer your question, since Nov 16 the price of the EGP has been going deeply down compared to the the USD.Here is the current ratePlus, the declineof tourism in Egypt in the recent years resulted in some outstanding deals from hotels everywhere in the country. If you do enough research, you can find rates for acommodation, transport, … etc that can match ANY budget.C) No CrowdsYes, all of that and you will enjoy most of it with minimal crowdings and short waiting lines. ( apart from the HORRIFIC traffic on the streets)My answer here is simply a “drop of an ocean” ,as we say here in Egypt, of the whole picture. Please do some intense research to get the most out of your visit here, I certainly hope that you'll have some joyful time- to say the least.

Why are diamonds so expensive? Why not offer synthetic diamonds for the same size but half the price. Will the average Joe know - probably not. Was the De Beers marketing campaign the best marketing scheme ever?

Anything extremely rare is also precious.  Diamonds, formed billions of years ago, are rare in that only a few survived the hazardous journey from the depths of the earth to reach the earth's surface.  Indeed, you may be surprised to learn that even though diamond production has increased in recent years, it is estimated that as few as 350 tons have ever been mined in recorded history to date.  Of diamonds mined today, only about 50% are judged to be of gem quality.  Even fewer are large enough to be cut into diamonds that are much bigger than the head of a match. To answer your question, the reason diamonds are so expensive is because of a multi-national monopoly held by De Beers. They have warehouses in multiple countries filled to the ceiling with diamonds, but don't sell more than so many a year, to purposefully drive the price up and make more money.

How much is a pound of weed?

1 lb of weed is exactly that; 1 lb of weed. Or, in other words, 16 oz, 64 quarters, 128 8ths, or 448 grams. Here in Southern California, if you buy your weed at $10 a gram, a pound will run you $4,480. However, one can usually find decent-quality ounces for $200-250, in which case a pound will run you between $3,200 and $4,000. To put that into perspective, a new smoker usually doesn't need more than 20% of a gram to feel a good buzz. At that rate, if the person is getting high once a day, every day, using only 20% of a gram a day, it will take more than 6 years to finish a pound of weed. That's spending about $1.79 a day for 6 years, if you purchase ounces for $250 or less.

Any car buying advice?? warnings??

I've been saving up for my first car, and any advice will help. My parents are divorced, Dad lives in another state, and Mom doesn't know anything about cars. I've heard how people try to take advantage of girls especially in buying cars, overcharging, etc... how can I make sure I'm getting a good deal, and a good car?? Dealerships vs. Private Sellers, online?? what's the best way to go? (kinda long, but answers are appreciated ^.~)

What are some affordable towns in Tennessee near Nashville that are considered safe to live in? Doesn't have to be right near Nashville, but preferably within a half hour or so drive.

Thanks for the A2A….Let’s start by eliminating a few:“Within a half hour or so drive” eliminates a few, unless you’re planning to drive only in the middle of the night. I bought my house in Murfreesboro after making the drive from work to see the house during off-traffic hours, which was a huge mistake. I drove from Murfreesboro to Nashville every working day for 11 years and during rush hour it was never under 45 minutes. With that logic, you can also eliminate Spring Hill, Clarksville, Portland, and Lebanon as being more than a half hour drive during reasonable office working hours.“Affordable” definitely eliminates Brentwood and Franklin, so the 65 south corridor is basically out for you. Brentwood and Franklin are nice but not cheap, Spring Hill and Thompson’s Station are relatively cheap but not close enough. Affordable also cuts almost any smallish town west of the Briley/I40 junction until you get to the Cheatham county line.“Safe” is relative, but I don’t think many people would argue with me for deeming Antioch and Madison relatively unsafe. I’d put LaVergne and Goodlettsville in the list of relatively unsafe places, although that might be a stretch. Although I say these are unsafe, that is mostly anecdotal general knowledge. I have never had a problem in any of these areas. Now for the recommendations:If I were picking a suburb with your qualifications right now, I’d probably go with Hendersonville, Kingston Springs, Mt. Juliet, or possibly (pushing the limits of that half hour) Smyrna. I’d sort those by which part of Nashville in which you’ll be spending most of your time.

What is the cost of an apartment in Jakarta, Indonesia?

Jakarta is interesting, because no matter how deep is your pocket, Jakarta has something for you.Is it expensive or cheap?Well, it depends on two things : which part of Jakarta and your lifestyle. For a city in developing nation, Central Jakarta is expensive. My living cost for one person is around US$ 1,200 which offers decent but still only a bit above average lifestyle in city center. However in some parts of Jakarta US$ 200 to 400 is often enough. Of course being expensive is relative. The living cost in Central Jakarta is a bit cheaper than Taipei, Vienna, and Istanbul. However, it is a bit expensive compared to Budapest, Cairo, and Manila. It is also relative to how do you allocate your expenses. For example, food can be somewhat cheaper in Jakarta, but the apartment rent in city center is crazy expensive. For example a two-room apartment in the city center often costs more than $1,500 which is more than cost of rent in Montreal. One room apartment however can be under $1,000 for an ugly and tight room.If you are single, you can rent a cheap room in a shared-house (called "kost") which costs only around US$ 50 to US$ 300 depending on location and facilities. Or living somewhat outside the city center.
