Is 200 000 Miles Too Much For An Acura Rsx 2002

How long do Acura RSX last with 155k Miles on it?

Mileage doesn't hurt those cars - if maintained, they will keep on going. We service a couple of them pushing on close to 300,000km and they are going ok. If the car has been modded too much or abused then it can be curtains long before it even reaches 100k miles.... Have your potential vehicle professionally inspected prior to purchase. All the best

Worth it?--- 2003 Acura RSX Type S?

Please do not listen to this guy... 172k miles is fine. As long as the vehicle was properly maintained, that kind of milage is nothing to worry about. The K20 is just as reliable and durable as most of the older model D and B series motors. So long as it was taken care of properly, you won't be looking at issues. You should also look into the history of the vehicle and perhaps the previous owner. If it was dogged out you may be looking at issues. But that price is actually not too bad. This is a great car!

There is no such thing as a car "designed to last 200k miles". That is just an average for most vehicles because of owner neglect.

Good luck!

Should I buy a Used Acura RSX?

I've just gotten into a car accident and they've considered the car a loss. They gave me a $5,000 check for the loss. Now I'm considering buying a 2002 RSX Type S. I haven't really looked at it in person yet but the only thing I have noted that is bad is that It has 140,000 miles on it. Has anyone ever bought a High Mileage car and had any problems with it? Now the Seller is asking $8,000 for it. Does this sound reasonable? If not, What would be a reasonable amount to start haggling with? Please Help!!!

Is 200,000 miles too much for an Acura rsx 2002?

No it is not its an acura not a Nissan or a Cadillac . Acuras will go forever my freinds has a Rsx with 300k . But just make sure you get it regular mainence at a local acura delear . I remember once when I took my acura to a different dealership they ended up putting General Motors parts on it.

How many miles do ACURA MDX's usually run until they start having problems?

Acuras and Hondas last as long as you want to drive them and maintain and repair them. My wifes 1997 CRV has 196,000 and my 2002 RSX S has 135,000. Both run AS NEW. Her engine is a little noisy when its super cold until it warms up.

Old skool thought was v6's outlast 4cylinder cars because the engine is under less stress. So if properly maintained MDX should go until you get sick of it. My sis has a 02 MDX with 140,000 runs awesome. They did have the tranny repl under warranty though-thats the only problem Ive heard about the Automatic honda/acura in V6 is some had tranny problems like 1998-2002ish years.

To the guy complaining about the RL-if you get a car loaded with gizmos, sometimes they will have bugs. Ask any BWM, Mercedes, Audi. VW, Caddy owner about electricl bugs, they all have them. Fix it and move on-this guy is asking about real failure like engine/tranny.

Acura RSX Type S or Infiniti G35 Coupe?

Really, your torn between an Acura over an Infiniti?? Not to be to brash but any one in their right mind would take the Infiniti over the Acura. Infiniti is the best performing luxury manufacturer next to BMW is terms of its excellent driving dynamics which is why they call it the Japanese "BMW" the same way Lexus is the Japanese "Mercedes". Acura although a reliable product isn't really a true rival in the luxury market, they still have a long way to go if they want to compete with the top dogs like Audi, Lexus, Infiniti, BMW & Mercedes Benz. The Infiniti G35 coupe whether its a 2003 or 2006 model will produce a powerful 260-280 HP standard making it the class leader amongst all its rivals for that year like the BMW 3 series & Mercedes CLK. If your on a constraint budget and your looking for a car with cheaper maintenance cost then the Acura is the way to go, otherwise if your in search of a pure performance luxury sports coupe then the G35 is the way to go if your willing to spend a couple thousand more. The only thing Acura has in common at this point with Infiniti is they are both Japanese automakers but other then that Infiniti is on a whole other level then the Acura in terms of Luxury & performance, nevertheless both are great reliable manufacturer's however they appeal to two different drivers with certian expectations.

How much does it cost to replace a 2003 Acura RSX engine including labor.?

You can generally find a low mileage engine for this car in the $2,000 and under range and add another $1,000-$1,500 for labor at a decent shop, but less if you know someone that can do it. If the car is under $2,000 then do it, or you can get a RSX- type S engine and spend another $1,000-$2,000 and get 50 more hp out of the deal too. Basically you would have a $7,000-$8,000 RSX type-S with low miles.

What can I do to improve the handling of my 2006 Acura TSX?

Start cheap and simple by swapping out the rear sway bar with either the Acura TL Type S sway bar (~$50) or a Progress RSB ($150). The Progress is a touch more aggressive and has a hard/soft setting but the TL Type S bar is OEM and gets you 90% of the way there. (Install instructions: http://tsxcore.blogspot.ca/2011/...)For the shocks and springs there's a huge range of options available to the TSX as it was also sold in Europe and Japan and was also easily modded. Brands like Buddy Club, Tein, H&R, Koni etc all offer parts that will improve handling depending on your specific needs. Best to visit a TSX owner forum like TSXclub.com to get more advice - specify if you want to lower the car or if it's a daily driver or if you need to retain as much stock ride quality as possible.

Have you ever bought a car with over 100k miles?

Every car I have purchased. The first car I purchased was a 1995 Range Rover in 2012. It had 170k miles on it when I bought it. It needed some work in addition to regular maintenance but I was happy to do it. I did a full brake job, new steering linkage, valve cover gaskets, new ignition system, new exhaust system, and more. It was my baby. I still own the car and it still starts every time I turn the key — it now has 220k miles. However, I got a job that required a daily commute of 60 miles round-trip and I wanted something more fuel efficient and reliable. The next car I purchased was a 2003 Subaru Outback L.L. Bean 3.0L with 130k miles. The car had more power than the V8 Range Rover! Besides oil changes I did a full brake job, replaced much of the A/C system, and replaced a catalytic converter. It was a good car, but still didn’t get great fuel economy and never made me feel excited to drive like the Rover did. I sold it with 145k miles. My current car is a 2009 Audi A3 S-Line that I purchased with 105k miles. It has the 2.0T TFSI and S-Tronic (DSG) double clutch transmission. It is an absolute blast to drive. It makes me feel excited to drive, just like the Range Rover did. It looks beautiful and I routinely get upper 20’s MPG around town and about 30 MPG highway. I have not done anything beside debadge the car and fill a few paint chips in the hood. The previous owner had the 100k mile service done, so the fluids are new and the timing belt and water pump have been replaced. I simply get to enjoy driving it. That being said, I do have some modifications planned to make it my own ;).I think the moral of my story is that buying cars with over 100k miles is fine. Both of my brother’s cars have had over 100k miles, two of my father’s more recent cars had over 100k miles, and they were fine. Cars today are only at 1/2–1/3 of their life at 100k miles. As long as regular maintenance was performed you will be fine. You can buy lots of amazing cars at amazing prices when they roll over 100k.That being said: I performed all of my own repairs on my cars. My dad did the same, and my brother followed. This saved us tons of money on repair costs and made having older/high mileage cars worthwhile. I probably saved the full value of my Range Rover by doing the repairs myself. If you have no car knowledge or desire to work on your cars yourself, stick to buying cars with warranties. The Rangie and the Audi, combined with over 325,000 miles!

WHICH CAR IS BETTER? infiniti g35 coupe or acura rsx?!?

ACURA RSX all the way.

I have owned one since 2002. Great car, amazing ride. I can't speak enough about it.
And - the customer service is the best i have come across. They REALLY take care of u EVERY time. Amazing service.
I even had rust on my moonroof ( i live in hawaii and have salty air) and the warranty was expired - but because i was the original owner, they took care of it and replaced it for free! - they are good about giving out a rental too, if its ever in the shop or anthing. Mind you, i havent had any issues with my car except the moon roof and getting oil changes/ upkeep stuff).
When u pay that much for a car - the customer service really does count...
And the ride is great! - and the resale value far outdoes that of the infiniti!
