Is 60k CAD a year a good salary in Canada?

Yes, $60K is good; that’s a little above average, which is about $50K. You’ll be making more than double minimum wage, in other words. If you are young or just starting out that’s excellent. Now, Jarod Bianti brought up a good point. In Canada it’s fairly common for both partners to be working. So the family income would be $120K and that is quite a comfortable salary for any family. $60K could be difficult depending on where you live and who else in your family you are supporting. For a single person you’ll be fine. In Vancouver, it’ll be tight but far from starvation.Let’s look at Forestry Managers, (Mining & Forestry Managers) one of the top paying job groups in Canada. How good is a salary of $85,000 to $90,000 in Canada?

A salary of $85–$90K is above average for an individual, average for a family, and below average for a Manager in the construction industry, worker in the health industry, and workers in the Oil and Gas and mining industry. This salary puts an individual and/or small family squarely in the middle class of working Canadians.Rental Cost: August 2017 Canadian Rent ReportUnfortunately rental inflation has made it more expensive to live in Canada’s larger cities - 1 bedroom in Vancouver is now around $2000 Cad and $3200 for a two bedroom, per month and before utilities.Taxes are also a very heavy burden on Canadians, as other commentators have noted “In 2017, the average Canadian family will earn $108,674 in income and pay a total of $47,135 in taxes (43.4%)” Canadians Celebrate Tax Freedom Day on June 9, 2017If the $85–$90K salary is in addition to a good retirement benefit program or pension (such as a public service job), as well as a supplemental health care plan then you will be doing well and will live comfortably with good clothing, a newish vehicle, and the ability to have discretionary spending/saving of a few thousand dollars per month. If you have to fund your retirement and pay for dental/vision/prescription coverage out of pocket than you will still have enough money be able to cover all basic and most extras to live a comfortable life but you will be challenged to:Retire before 65Travel internationally for 10 days more than once a yearPurchase a home near Toronto or Vancouver or surrounding suburbsHave more than 2 children (unless you live in Quebec where childcare and education costs are subsidized)Have a spouse stay-at-home and not workAlso, if you live in the Northwest Territories or near Wood Buffalo Alberta, a salary below $100K is difficult to live on due to higher cost of living.

What is a good salary for a single person to make?

That depends on where you live, and HOW comfortable you want to live. My idea of comfortable is being able to pay ALL my bills, buy food, clothes, and necessities, and go out on the weekend.

Other people have higher standards of what "living comfortably" is. My Husband and I make $40,000 a year between us, I'm 19 and he's 21, and we're newlyweds. But, we live in an apartment, and you might live in a house with a mortgage.

Cost of living can change dramatically from person to person, so I would say add up ALL your bills and leave room to add more bills, then estimate what you spend on food, clothing etc., and of course money you spend on gifts, going out, etc. That should give you a good start. Then think about what you need to make to cover all of that and still live "comfortably".

Is a 40,000 pounds per year (before tax) a good salary in London for a family of 4?

I rekon your wife would need to get a job to survive on £40k per annum, having 2 kids to look out for as well . Either that or you would need to buy a house and take in lodgers to help pay the mortgage as an extra source of income. Even in the worst areas of London a house costs £350000. So on your salary you may find yourself living in a 2 or 3 bedroom flat if you wanted to buy your own place. If you purchased your house via the government's London Help to Buy scheme, a£40000 salary would allow you to buy a house worth up to £327000. You would need a 5% deposit, the government would then lend you 40% of the purchase price ( interest free for the first 5 years ), then you would take out a 55% mortgage for the remaining 55% or £180k.You pay back the government's 40% share in the property whenever you can or when you sell the property. So for example if the property is worth £1million in the future when you are ready to sell the property but you haven't paid back any of the government's share in that property, you would have to hand over £400k of that £1million sale price to the government.Checking on Zoopla there were only a few 4 bedroom houses available anywhere in London for £325k or less. The nicest area was Orpington, Kent, which is within a London Borough. Most of the other 4 bedroom houses within that price range were in areas such as Dagenham, Barking and East Ham. For a house to qualify for the London help to buy scheme it has to be within a London Borough and it has to be a new build. There is a seperate Help to Buy government scheme which can be used for a property anywhere in the UK, including London. But the government only puts in 20% for that scheme. And the value of the property musn't be over £450k.If your wife got a job paying say £20k per annum; that £60k per annum income would allow you buy a property worth up to £491000 via London Help to Buy. £600k is the maximum value for a property to qualify for London Help to Buy. To afford a mortgage on a £600k property through the London help to buy scheme you and your wife would need a joint annual income of at least £73334.London Borough of Bromley is a popular area in London for families. Also Sutton, Enfield, and Hornchurch. These are nice areas on the outskirts of London that are more affordable than many other areas.

Does $1,770 bi-weekly equal a salary of $47k per year?

no there are 52 weeks in a year, divide that in half, as you said bi weekly, so multiply 1770 X 26 you get 46,020, or figure 1770 bi weekly is 885 a week, so multiply 885 X 52 you get 46,020 if you do it monthly it wont come out right, because some months have 5 weeks in them......so if you just do 1770X2 you are only accounting for 4 weeks in a month, not accouting for the months with 5 weeks

Is 80k a good salary for chicago? What can I realistically do with that salary? (As a single person.) How much can I save while still enjoying myself?

From a cost of living standpoint… at $80,000 per year you should not spend more than $2,200 per month on rent. I was an apartment leasing agent for a short while. $2,200 is an awkward amount because generally rents for decent one bedroom apartments jump from $1,400-$1,800 up to $2,400+. In my experience, if you are willing to live near but outside of downtown (Lincoln Park or Lakeview) you can find a great 2 bedroom for around $1,800. Many people come to the city and want to live downtown or in a trendy area. That’s fine, as long as you know what you’re going to get and what it will cost. Here is an example of a trendy building in a trendy area very near downtown. Here are examples of 1br or 2br of good size in another trendy area but not as centrally located (we’re talking about 15 minutes to downtown, not a far distance). And here are examples of the trendies if all areas with small or non-traditional somewhat affordable sometimes strangely laid out apartments. It all depends on the area.I don’t do apartment leasing anymore but if you’re looking for something I used to work for The Apartment Guys on Clark, they’re pretty straight up and it’s free. Don’t do a seach on the site, it’s not always updated, just call them and say I sent you (Chicago works like that).
