Is Basic A Bad Score On The Cst

Is scoring basic on STAR testing bad?

It's kind of bad, yeah, but nothing you should concern yourself with. Chances are you learned a lot in your geometry class but your teacher didn't teach specifically to the state test so you saw questions you weren't really prepped for.

What really matters is that /you/ feel you got the most out of your math class and that you're confident you can succeed in high school math.

Question about SAT, ACT and CAT scores?

Well, a Stanine of 7 is a little above average and a percentile rank of 88 which is equivalent to an SAT score of 1900 or an ACT score of 27 to 28.

I believe we're talking about the California Achievement Test and not the Common Admission Test held in India? The California Achievement Test is quite different from the SAT/ACT and is more like the Stanford Achievement Test (not the college admissions SAT).

I got a score of 247 on my 7th grade Fall NWEA MATH MAP test. As a student enrolled in the gifted program, my scores should be above the 95th percentile, (247 is not). Should I be worrying about this?

Being labeled “gifted” or having greater academic intelligence makes it easier to get into Ivy League Universities, but that doesn’t mean you’re a better person or that you will be more successful average non “gifted” person. I was straight A student, been “gifted” and top 2% in almost every test, with full scholarship to top Universities, including UC Berkeley. My husband had to drop out of college to care for his mother who had cancer. My husband makes 4x more than me and is highly successful and respected. He was often labeled as “trouble” in school.Test scores are only a snap shot of what you know, not what you can apply. Knowledge by itself is meaningless unless shared and/ or applied to real life situations. Even if you lose your “gifted” title, you’ll be fine. Please don’t identify yourself solely by your grades and test scores. (I did in middle school and well into high school. When I got my first B in Sophomore year I became suicidally depressed because the foundation of who I was ripped away. I couldn’t be a straight A student with a B. I went to summer school to change to B to an A but it didn’t change my depression. Looking back, I was stupid to think that way. I’m so much more than just my grades and tests, I’m a photographer, a poet, a swimmer, a tennis player, calligrapher, a foodie, an excellent chef, a sister, a daughter, and a mother.)Universities and colleges doesn’t even look into middle school scores and grades. Only the grades and scores you have in High School counts towards college admission.Worry less about the numbers and grades you receive and more about what you are actually learning - socially and morally. It’s EQ not IQ that is the best measure of success.

How many hours of study per day are required to score in the 99th percentile in CAT?

That really depends on how strong your base it and how much you grasp.I can share my experience, i am an average student with a normal IQ, and i cracked CAT with a percentile of 96.56 i.e CAT 2014 that was held in Nov'14.I started my prep in april and devoted 4-5 hours daily.Steps to crack it,1. Complete your maths NCERTS from 8th-12th. Seriously this is the most important step, because all the questions are based on these concepts2. Read A LOT. I myself read the hindu, the economic times(only the editorial and international news) Once you are pretty comfortable with these, you can start reading The New York Times, The Economist etc. Even refer to blogs like thenewyorker , the philosopher etc. This may seem pointless, but believe me it will help you loads with your English part of the exam. Highly in RC Passages, also an additional tip, read everything online because its Eco-friendly and since you will be giving an online exam so reading long RC's on the net will help u develop a habit.3. So after your maths concepts are clear, cram your tables. Your tables should be done up to 25 AT LEAST. Even learn the square and cube roots of first 30 no's because CAT is all about time management and this helps alot.4. From personal experience can vary person to person, buy some study material from Bulls eye, Times etc and make a habit to devote 1 hr each to all 3 sections. Don't underestimate the verbal and DI sections and just prepare for quant.5. You should be pretty clear with the basics, and now is the time to start giving mocks. Mark my words, its not the person who does max questions in cat exam who scores but the person who knows which questions to solve and which questions to skip and you can only learn this by giving maximum mocks. Give a mock test atleast once a week and analyse it and rectify your week spots.Thats about it, just remember hours really don't matter, but which solving each question you should be clear with the methodology to solve it and solve it within a time frame of 2-2.5 minutes max.If you liked my ans plz upvote and do ask if any queryUPDATE: I gave CAT 2016 exam as well and scored 98.1 with the same strategy.

What is an average bowling score?

Mathematically the “average” score is 77, as that is the score with the most possible ways of reaching it (if that makes sense). In other words, there are more ways to get a score of 77 than any other score (it’s a curve maxing at 77 and dropping off on each side, ending at 1 way for 0 and 1 way for 300).Non-mathematically, I’d put the average league score around 150. For general “having fun” bowlers, that 77 number seems pretty spot-on, plus or minus 10 pins perhaps.

What is the ideal score in AIMCAT and SIMCAT to achieve 99+ percentile in actual CAT?

In a brutal generalisation i would say that anyone who is able to maintain a 95+%ile in the last 5 AIMCATs is well equipped to score 99+%ile in acutal CAT. To score 99%ile the strategy to attempt the paper has to be decided very carefully and should have been practiced in a few mocks to become accustomed to. With the correct strategy and its efficient execution in actual CAT any one with 95+%ile in AIMCATs can achieve 99+%ile in actual CAT.I have attached the spreadsheet i used to maintain to analyse and monitor my AIMCAT performance. Few rows are missing. Last 5 AIMCATSs were around 98%ile +-0.5 for me.Aimcat analysis.xlsx
