Is Becoming A Store Manager A Good First Management Job

How can i become a Retail store manager?

Forever 21 is a big national chain, and even though you are probably well trained for the management position, they will be hesitant to give it to a person who is actually under 21.

Call it ageist, if you will, but, given the way the world is now, they are going to prefer a person who is more than a year or two out of high school.

Additionally, you may want to do some research - will they hire you without at least a 2 year associate degree from a local college? Or do they want a BA in Business administration or management?

Whatever you do, don't quit. You will be starting over at the bottom somewhere else.

Find an HR person or someone who does hiring and promotions.

ASK that person : What do I need to become a manager of a Forever 21 store? I have been here a few years and I really know that I am capable of running a Forever 21 profitably. Do I need to take college classes? Which ones?

Ask for the experience, ask for the promotions. many...many years ago, when I was 20 years old, I asked for the management position. They told me what training I needed and in 6 months I was not only the manager...I was the DAY manager on WEEKDAYS!

Is Business Management a good major? What do they do?

With this degree and some experience first, you will be qualified to be a manager of a store, restaurant, office, etc.

Before picking a major, check out what that degree will do for you and if that is something you want to be doing. You have a little time while studying at a CC but i wouldnt wait longer than after the first semester to decide. I know its tough to do a little work during the summertime but a little goes a long way.

Is being a manager at McDonald's a good job?

It depends on who is the franchise holder. McDonalds are owned by different companies in each geographic area. Some are good employers and others are sitting back and waiting for you to do everything.

I'm going to be 16 in 2 months so I'm deciding what I wanna do for my first job. I live near taco bell and I love there food. Would that be a good first job? I also live near a grocery store if that's a better job.
