Is Being A Marketing Agent A Good Idea

Is it a good idea to work as a real estate agent while in college?

Unless you are looking at going into Real Estate after college I would be cautious of a step into Real Estate as a college student.  A licenses is expensive to maintain and building yourself is expensive in the first few years.I worked as a commercial leasing agent and property manager while in college and to be honest some days were more difficult than others.  Schedules, exams, needing to be available all of the time for clients and such can be daunting.  I was paid hourly and if I would have had to rely on commissions I would have been even more of a starving college kid.  I had a lot if sleepless or near sleepless nights trying to balance everything. If you have the business already then it would be great, if you are starting while in college you need to hope you have a great broker, be part of a great team and learn the ropes quickly and have a good chuck of savings ready for the slow months when your tuition, rent and bills are due when you also have an empty refrigerator.

Is it a good idea to become a real estate agent?

the first 2 posters don't know what they are talking about.

You need to understand that you earn money when a house sells.

yes, it's a "crappy" market - BUT ONLY FOR SELLERS! Buyers are purchasing and getting GREAT deals. And the agent gets paid, even if the seller losses money.

And this is a great time to get in and LEARN. Being a realtor is much much more then writing a contract. Anyone can do this. It's marketing.

What is your opinion on starting a digital marketing agency?

I understand you have a very wide scope on your vision. Get rid of it.Even if you can, it’s a lot easier to position your agency as being a top performer in just one thing than in everything. No jack of all trades can commant top rates.Say you choose SEO as a focus. The SEO landscape is quite big. You have SaaS SEO, you have local SEO, you have SEO for e-commerce, and a few more.Say you choose Fb Ads. You have an endless combination of campaigns you can make. You’ll be full of it pretty quickly and after you start having some issues you’ll really understand the power of focus. And there’s many, many more options. It’s okay to start your own agency. There’s a huge market buying these services. It’s even growing — worldwide. But regardless on how much money you have in your hand right now, you need to make a bold promise to your client you can really get a grip on, with a limited number of clients. You can only do so much by yourself, and you’ll need to get some help pretty soon after you grow a little.Focus!Hope this helps.

Best steps to becoming a Marketing Manager?

I have been a Marketing Manager. Here are the steps I followed and that I recommend.

- Go to a good school and major in Marketing.
- Choose a school in or near a major city so you will have top notch internship opportunities.
- The summer before your senior year, do an internship in marketing -- maybe at an ad agency or in corporation's marketing dept.
- Your first job out of college will be an entry level marketing position. Try to choose a company that will help pay for your graduate degree.
- Go to business school at night to get your MBA, preferably paid for by your employer.
- Work hard and keep getting promoted and you'll be a MM before you know it!

This is what I did and I was a Marketing Manager by the age of 26.
