Is Being A Waitress Though

How can I ask a waitress if she’d go out with me?

Make it extremely easy for her to say no.This is how I did it:There was a cute waitress that was serving me and my friend at a restaurant and we had a couple of pleasant exchanges with her, nothing out of ordinary and unusual. Then I asked her for a blank piece of paper and pen. She jokingly asked me if I was drawing something for her and I said yes. Even though my initial plan was to just leave my number, I decided to improvise and did this:I left the piece of paper with the check and my friend and I left before she could see it.We went out and it was fun.A couple of things to keep in mind:Make sure you leave your number like I did and don’t ask her in person. A restaurant might have a policy against giving out numbers or getting too comfortable with guests so even if she wanted to give you her number she might not.Make sure you don’t use the check since it might be used later on by a manager to submit tips or something similar. Ask for a blank piece of paper that she can easily dispose of.The above-mentioned 2 points also take care of all the objections that others raised in their answers. You aren’t making her uncomfortable. You already paid, tipped(tip as usual, don’t tip too much), and left. If she isn’t interested, which is the most likely scenario, she will just throw away your number and that’s it.Get creative. Draw something and/or write something unusual. You will stand out from others that do the same thing.Last but not least, don’t get your hopes up. Just leave your number and be happy that you expressed your interest. Whether she responds or not isn’t up to you, so don’t worry about that part. As I discussed with her above, it’s part of her job to throw away the numbers and apparently that’s what she did most of the time. I have tried something similar in a couple of other occasions and this is the only time it worked.Good luck!Edit: Some people commented that they cannot see the drawing and the note. After my number which is erased, it says “do whatever you like with it” and then there are male and female stick figures and it says “us on the first date,” a suggestion of what she could do with it.

Is it hard being a waitress?

At first, then after a couple of months if your good your good. But man I've seen some bad ones! Learn time consolidation, eye contact, listening, taking care of special needs, putting up with customers crap, balance, and always refill drinks.

What is it like to be a waitress?

LOL @ Rai. Being punctual, clean & following the rules is a requirement for all jobs so don't take those as negatives for waitressing!

If you like to be kept busy and on your feet then you will enjoy it. Yes you will get nasty customers but these people crop up in every sort of work place. You will get lots of nice customers too, plus if you're friendly and do a good job you could make a fortune in tips!

The downside will be potentially working evenings and weekends but that might be perfect for you if you're studying or working through the day. x

Should I be a cashier or waitress?

You'll make a lot more money serving, but cashier is a much easier job.

As a server, you'll be a lot busier and you'll have to manage your time carefully. You'll have to be able to remember a lot of things, do several tasks at once, and keep your head cool even when you're frustrated. You'll have to learn to be nice to people you don't like.

As a cashier, you'll have to stand in the same spot for hours and hours doing the same thing over and over.

As a cashier, you make a fixed wage so you'll get the same thing every week right from the beginning.

As a new server, you will make $70 - $100 per shift. A cashier might make about $40-$50 per shift.

As you get better at serving, you might expect to make $150 or more per shift. As a cashier, you might get a raise of 10 cents an hour.

Servers go home with cash every night, cashiers get a paycheck every two weeks.

A server can increase his pay by getting better at the job, increasing your sales, and/or going to work in a nicer restaurant. Cashiers get paid what cashiers get paid, period.

You have to be more of a go-getter, have a strong work ethic, and be willing to be engaged in what you're doing to be a good server, but you'll make a lot more money.

Waitressing and weight loss?

I want to begin waitressing at a place called Ruby's Diner, which has pretty much all bad-for-you food with the exception of a small caesar salad maybe (which is all I eat usually anyway), and I am wondering if running around constantly by being a waitress can help with weight loss. I won't be eating any of the fattening food there; I'll either get a small salad and water or bring my own lunch. I eat 1500 calories a day and exercise a lot. thanks

Is being a waitress really that bad?

Thanks y'all. Just a few extra details. The real problem with my current job is that I am not getting enough hours. I work 3 hours on saturday which brings me to $20.00 a week :( There's this other guy there who was hired in December ( I've been working there since June) and he is working every day of the week, aaaarghhh!!!!!! I used to work from opening to closing on saturday before Christmas and then after Christmas, (after he was hired) I was reduced to three hours a week and now he works all day saturday. I think that they don't really like me all that much because i'm not outgoing enough and I don't do as good a job. But still, there's no respect for seniority ( even though i'm younger than him). If they don't like me, I really wish they would respect me enough to fire me or tell me what i'm doing wrong. I'm pretty sure that the reasons that they haven's fired me are A) My sister-in-law works there. B) I'm always on time and reliable C) I'm honest and don't steal or lie. Oh and my

How can an introvert handle being a waitress?

I was scared to apply to waitressing jobs for a long time too.  Recently I found the confidence to do so and have been hired as a host at a casual breakfast place.   The only times I get stressed out at this job is when I try too hard to be like the extroverted people around me and I lose my own unique traits.  They are faster and more talkative me, but I can tell they are sliding more on the surface with the guests.  Yes, they get things done fast and efficiently, but they don't provide the deeper connection that I can.  I really enjoy these one on one interactions with the guests and it actually keeps me energized.  The guests really appreciate this as well...they've told me themselves! You MUST be yourself in order to be satisfied as a host or server.  Bring your quirky personality to the table (literally haha).  Everyone will be happier and more relaxed.Don't put pressure on yourself to talk, but don't hold yourself back either.  With some guests you'll just ask for drinks and be sweet, but with others you'll strike up a genuine conversation and those are gold :)  Another thing to remember is that you may have a lot of people telling you what to do and often these things will contradict.  The introvert in you will want to point out and fix these discrepancies, but I found it's best to just let it go and learn as much as you can.  Don't get a bad attitude about it or it may ruin your day haha.  Speaking from experience of course! And always...be proud of who you are, hold onto your confidence and go be awesome.

Is being a waitress at Pizza Hut a hard job?

Being a waitress (or just working in the food industry in general) can be pretty demanding, though most people don't realize it. You have to be on your feet the entire time you are at work, and you will have to deal with lots of VERY rude people, and you have to be able to smile and be nice no matter how rude they are to you.
