Is Evil Real Prayed To God And Asked About My Ex That Night Something Scary Happened

Has anything weird happened after watching the conjuring?

Haven't watched that one (I'll wait for it on DVD) yet, but I've seen all the top 100 scariest horror films of all time so I can still answer your question. I happen to like horror films.

Even though I haven't seen The Conjuring, I know perfectly well that the answer is yes. People have watched that flick and then, that very same evening, experienced weird stuff happening. As more and more people see that one, you can expect more and more reports of not just paranormal activity, but decidedly evil paranormal activity. And those people will not be kidding.

I also know why that is. After you watch a scary / shocking movie, sooner or later you'll have to be alone with the lights out. That's when horror filmmakers earn their money in fact, not when the film is playing. When someone just watched one of those flicks, their mind and nerves are still on edge. If it was a good movie, their mind and nerves are still absolutely frazzled. A good horror movie is one that gets under your skin and makes you say "I know it's not real, but what if" after you watch it.

When people's nerves are on high alert, they notice everything. Every normal sound seems threatening, every normal shadow seems to move, and the furnace or AC suddenly coming on will cause their heart to start racing. Especially when they're alone, and even more especially when they're alone in the dark.

Is that stuff really happening? Does watching a creepy movie somehow 'attract' nasty spirits or whatever? Of course not. Ghosts don't sit around waiting for you to be alone in the dark, and they sure don't wait until you just watched a scary movie. Think of it, why would a ghost care about that? But while ghosts don't wait until you're alone in the dark, your imagination certainly does. And if you just watched a scary movie, just guess what your imagination is thinking about.

I feel an evil presence in my bedroom...?

There is a spiritual realm that shares space with the physical, and though the two rarely seem to cross paths, it can and does happen. The spirits that may interact with us are angels and demons; "ghosts" are not the souls of the departed, as those souls are elsewhere.

Demons are made to deceive you, to cause you to question your faith or tempt you to sin against God. If what you feel is an evil presence and you have ruled out any underlying psychological or other physical causes for these visual and auditory disturbances, then you may want to consider a spiritual possibility.

Draw yourself closer to God: Receive the Eucharist, confess your sins and examine your conscience daily, pray to the Lord, recognize and fight the temptation to sin. Remember the leper whom Jesus healed who had said, "If you will it, you can make me clean."

The Archangel Michael is a defender against Satan and his ilk. I would recommend saying this prayer when you feel that evil presence - say it with conviction. No evil can stand in the face of faith:

Saint Michael the Archangel, defend us in battle, be our protection against the malice and snares of the devil. May God rebuke him we humbly pray; and do thou, O Prince of the Heavenly host, by the power of God, thrust into hell Satan and all evil spirits who wander through the world for the ruin of souls. Amen.

Why do I have nightmares every time I pray?

I'm not really religious. I do believe in God, but I just don't like praying. I just do it because my mom forces me. So whenever I pray properly, I get nightmares. Also, when I pray I think of other things like I don't focus. Btw, I'm Catholic. No stupid answers please.

Ex.: Yesterday, I prayed with my mom and I actually focused, on most parts. At night, I dreamed about a possessed girl.. I don't wanna go into details. It was just so creepy.

If it helps, most of my nightmares are about zombies, possessed people, ghosts/spirits, etc.

Why are evil spirits bothering me?

I know for a fact that evil spirit/s are always present in my home and are trying to ruin my life. Every single time I go to sleep, within min I start having some kind of weird nightmare. At first it was like just nightmares like suddenly hearing demonic growling and "time to die" and dreaming about people I know trying to kill me. But I have actually trained myself to be conscious while it happens so now I can fight it by saying things like "get out of my room", "leave me alone you prick", or just asking God to send an angel to scare it away. But it gets so bad sometimes that I give up and wait until it stops. (Which is always after I wake up) I can tell that this spirit has a deep hatred towards me because it always tempts me to sin, and when I fight temptations the nightmares come again. Which shows me that it wants to drag me down to hell with it. It doesn't bother me as much because I know it is just jealous of me and wants to see me suffer. My mom has problems with it also she woke up screaming and saw it standing in her room. I call it a coward because it attacks me at my weakest not while I'm fully awake and aware. I have even seen my little puppy shake and whelp while it slept and I would have to wake it up. I have a problem with sleeping, if I don't get enough sleep I can't make myself get up in mornings and I guess it knows that. One night I had a nightmare every time I lost my conscious in sleep, I would wake up and fall back asleep for it to happen again and again. Not just at night, even during daylight I will take a nap and my family will be in the next room talking and it still attack me. It is scary but I'm more annoyed than afraid. But if I overslept on a school day it leaves me alone. It pisses me off big time! I was wondering if anyone else had these kinds of problems and how they deal with it.

Christians, is God actually protecting us from evil?

So I am a 17 year old guy and I witnessed something terrible that really scared me and I don't want to see it happening ever again. I was an agnostic but I was leaning towards the atheist side, I was almost sure that God doesn't exist. For the past 6 months I've made an actual effort to return to God and I've made a progress. It's just that my faith isn't strong enough yet but I am getting there. I've prayed to God asking Him to protect me from similar experiences but is He going to help me? I really hope He is hearing my prayers and I am still very scared.

What does it mean if I dream of someone I know being possessed by a demon and I was praying desperately for them?

Dream interpretations are intensely personal and only you and God will know what they mean. It could be a warning that they are involved with something they shouldn’t be and you are to guide them away from it. You could have a guilty conscience of getting them involved with whatever it was. It depends on how or what you were praying for. The literal interpretation would be extremely unlikely. The bottom line is that someone in your life is doing, or about to do, something that you are not comfortable with. Praying for them in real life can help you alleviate your worry and may prevent anything bad from happening at all.
