Is it a conflict of interest that the Queen has such a large investment portfolio?
I met a distant cousin who told me her in-laws used to be doctors who worked with the royal family, so this is a few monarchs back, and instead of getting paid they were given tips on which stocks to buy. Indeed these stocks did rather well. As the Queen has to see and sign all acts of parliament, she surely must be privy to insider information. She also has a personal investment portfolio worth 100 million pounds. I guess it would not be a conflict of interest if the portfolio was managed blind for her, but based on the disregard for insider dealing that allegedly happened a couple of generations back, is this really the case?
