Is It Acceptable For Me To Call Her Sweetheart Or Darling

Is it normal for your boss to call you "sweetheart"?

Well, it all depends on if he calls others that. Sweetheart isn't terrible, but occasionally can be a sign. I know a lot of older managers use the terms "hun , honey, sweetie" with customers and coworkers. Most of them are women. I am a younger manager (33) and I do not use those terms because I feel it would be taken wrong because I am a younger male. I wouldn't worry too much for now. Most old schoolers use those terms a lot. Although its used less by men , and can be taken wrong when used by a man, more so then a woman. If you notice he does not call other females that, or if he starts showing other signs, then do something about it. If it makes you uncomfortable regardless, just tell him in a nice way.

What does it mean when a guy calls you sweetheart and darling?

Can I call my boyfriend sweetheart?

Absolutely.Call your boyfriend any names you want.Jokingly deprecating if he allows it. My girlfriend calls me dickhead, cunt, fucker, fuck face, but equally calls me hun, hunny, babe, baby, etc. Call him things he’s comfortable with, but unless he’s not comfortable with his masculinity, he shouldn’t mind being called sweetheart.Other acceptable names:CutieSweetieHoneypieWankerDestroyer of worldsandLove

Is it alright for a married woman to be called “sweetheart” and “darling” at work?

This is unprofessional. And this is not alright at all. There is a thing called office decorum which means the official norms and rules regulation. You may not find it written in a bold form that “You cannot call someone /approach someone randomly with sweetheart just like this” but these are all inclusive.Even if you have very good relation but still calling this type a “GUY Co-Worker” is sounds extremely outlandish and awkward. Under no circumstances she cannot say that.

Is it okay to call a girl "baby, honey, darling, etc."?

I'm not sure why, but I never refer to the girl I'm with by any cute names. I only call her by her name, or sometimes, if we came up with some temporary nickname because of something that happened, I'll jokingly call her that for 1-2 days or something (like "Miss Dangerous!" if she did something risky...), but otherwise, I always feel like if I call her "baby" or "honey", it just makes me think I'm putting her below myself. I mean, she's not my "baby," or my girl, she's just a girl I'm grateful to have be a part of my life. Or even if I say, "darling," still I duno... doesn't feel right.

Am I crazy? Or can anyone relate?? By the way, she doesn't call me any names either. If we have to refer to each other when talking, we'll usually just say each others name in a very gentle way, with a smile... And I like this!

I called my daughter 'sweetheart' and my mother said that it wasn't appropriate as it's meant for lovers?

Your Mom is way too sensitive.

My boyfriend calls other women "sweetheart" and "hon" and I don't like it.?

I've been with my boyfriend for 3 years and right now we are "broken up" because of this problem: I hear him calling other woman Hon and Sweetheart and it hurts my feelings. I've told him that it feels to me like he is calling other women names that should be reserved for me and he says I'm overreacting. I have tried to let it go but it really bothers me and the fact that he sends them text messages with "hon" in them only shows me it isn't an unconscious habit. (him always texting these various woman is another issue altogether). I don't see why he can't just see that it hurts me and stop. I know I would stop doing whatever it was if he told me hurt him. He tells me I'm insecure but I think his behavior and the fact that he is defending it so adimately is what make me seem insecure. Some of these women are my friends and others I don't even know, just woman from the bar he meets, so it isn't just women he feels close to that he is using these endearments with. What do you think?

Can two girls call each other as darling?

Of course yes!!!! it isn’t the matter of femininity or womanhood. It portraits the wholesome affection that one lady has over the another, yeah it might appear like a romantic one , a soothing one or a comforting buddy word which entirely relies on the perception of individuals. If the ladies are comfortable in the way they are; then there isn’t anything to be bothered about gossiping fools….. and it is absolutely perfect to call your beloved in the way you like unless it hurts them :)
