Why are most indian movie only based on romance and action?
Love stories are part and parcel of life. We relate to reel life love stories and try to experience that in real life. This goes in time when we started making cinema 100 years back. First we made films keeping Gods in mind. Be it Raja Harishchandra or Sant Tukaram. These films talk about love between god and his followers and their struggle. Now there is love right??Then we started experimenting cinema in all forms. What changed this equation (I think) is the inception of songs. People will mostly relate to love songs and cinema having romance as story line started gaining popularity.Filmmakers now started finding love in every story they would write. From Anarkali Salim to Anari and Mother india. If not romance then faith, struggle and revenge. But little support of love was the need with perfect songs. This trend became famous and with this Music industry started growing. This was again major change in Indian cinema. People would remember love songs for years even if they forget the movie. With change in social cultural and economical situations, we started adapting Hollywood but in Indian style. On other hand, if you look closely Hollywood practices the same formats. Without songs. Love is and will always be the base for any story. Love is the most common feeling shared by humans. Individually. From sci fi movies to superheroes, love plays vital role. Again, There are many other elements too. I tried focusing on few points. Thanks :)
Why are 99% of Hindi movies based on romance? Do we not have talent in any other genre?
Okay so let’s just look at the Bollywood statistics for 2017.According to data compiled by BoxofficeIndian.com, aggregate revenues across India for the first half of 2017 totaled 5,000 crore rupees, or about $755 million. And the movies which came out with highest turnovers were obviously the commercial ones including Raees and Tiger Zinda hai. However, if you look at the IMDB ratings (which may be relied on), some of the best rated movies was DARK WIND (KADVI HAWA) which i am sure most of us are unaware of.The story revolves around a blind old man and a young bank loan recovery agent, ironically both coming from two extreme weather conditions having zero contribution to the global climate change, fight for their survival.First ever Bollywood movie depicting such a crucial issue, winning several critic awards and worldwide applaud except for for our own country because all we are interested is actually sci-fi, fiction and action movies like those of Hollywood that require high production capital and still may not see very good turnovers. May be Bollywood would be needing another 10–15 years to direct good thrillers or fictional sci-fi as those of Hollywood. But, we do have a lot of variety in our Indian Cinema too. Whether it’s a social issue or a practical problem, our industry has evolved to a great extent. These movies seem much more relatable to me as far as present social scenario is concerned. But we as the viewers, still lack to praise the talent in our industry. Some other movies on this list are RAAG DESH, NEWTON, THE GHAZI ATTACK, POORNA and SACHIN. Except Sachin, I bet most of you haven’t watched any of the movies. Now is it the talent which is lacking ? Definitely not. A simple observation tells us that we as audience, lack the capability to appreciate the talent in our industry. Most of the times,a well scripted movie will not make a high turnover unless it’s featuring some of our commercial movie actors.
A romantic comedy movie that starts with a metaphor about cows?
Someone Like You" a movie base on a booq by sarah dessen After a series of ill-fated relationships, Jane (Ashley Judd) has finally met Mr. Right, Ray (Greg Kinnear) - he's emotionally available, and not afraid of commitment. Six weeks into their blissful courtship, he asks her to move in with him, and they start looking at apartments. But little by little Ray starts to pull away, until Jane realizes that once again she's been dumped. Jane's womanizing coworker, Eddie, just happens to be looking for a roommate, and Jane reluctantly moves in. Desperate to understand what happened and get over Ray, Jane comes up with a theory of interpreting male-female relations by observing the behaviors of wild animals. She shares this idea with a friend who works at a men's magazine (Marisa Tomei) and is given an anonymous editorial column devoted solely to her thoughts on the matter. But no one could have predicted the chord she'd strike among women with her theory, and the column's wild success makes Jane start to question her conclusions - and opens her eyes to what might be right in front of her.
