Are we heading towards World War III?
How likely is the WWIII? I don’t know . But I know how will WWIII will be. You may remember that WWII ended with Hiroshima and Nagasaki bombing. Hiroshima atom bomb was 15 Kiloton and Nagasaki was 21 kiloton. Those small bombs killed million and effect is still visible. The biggest nuclear bomb tested by Russia was Tsar which was 50,000KT.50000/15=3333.33 times destructive than Hiroshima and 2381 times more powerful than Nagasaki. Now have a look on world stockpile -Russia-7000US-6800France-300China-260UK-215Pakistan-130India-120Isreal-80North Korea<15Total - 14920Lets do analysis of Russia only ,if out of 7000 only 10% are like Tsar Russia can impact destruction 2,33,3100 times more than Hiroshima. I guess total cities in world will be less than this number. So on a rough estimate only Russia can destroy whole world twice same is the case with US. If a common man like me can do this calculation people in govt administration can do a precise calculation and before starting WWIII all govt of the world will consider this .
Christians, is God responsible for natural disasters?
We live in a fallen creation where sinful people still have free will to either turn to God and love Him or continue in the rebellion that started in the Garden of Eden with Adam and Eve. God doesn't act like some supernatural guardian who makes free will a parody by not actually allowing sinners to break His commands. Being sinners and rebellions against God by continuous sinning will bring judgement up on human kind. God had asked Adam to manage and subdue the earth, make the earth a nice place to live and multiply in everything. But, apparently human kind is greedy and exploited the earth and the earth is groaning in pain and will anytime erupt. It's all about the choices we make, so we better use the freedom of choice to help us improve not to hurt us or to ruin us. The fault lies with the people in question, not God.... There are some points to clarify. (1) To break an atom it is needed a particle accelerator like the CERN. It has 151 Km in perimeter, full of giant electromagnetic coils, sensors and so on. (2) When the atom is braked by a proton at the speed of light, small particles spread in the particle’s detectors, nothing like an explosion or a chain reaction ever took place.(3) “Atomic” bombs are just dirt bombs. What kills is the long lasting contamination of water.(4) The contamination spreads and cannot be reversed back in time. It is an irreversible phenomena.(5)Given enough time all living tissue will be contaminated.(6)If the radioactive pollution passes a small level, organisms die because neutrons break macro molecules.(7)Dead contaminated tissue affects all the food layers, bacteria can’t clean it.(8)A 1000 years is an optimistic horizon for life to last, some fish in the abyss may last. However only to be contaminated later. The half life of the uranium 235 is about 700 million years, and you will need to pass several half-lives for the earth to be clean.(9) When a radioactive isotope decays it also decays in a less heavy radioactive isotope, creating more radioactive lighter garbage. That chain should have been kept underground, but who may ‘clean’ the water if there is no people alive beyond the year 2500 ?

Winds generally do not cross the equator, so it's possible that all the radiation would stay in the northern hemisphere. However, the nuclear winter effect would no doubt distrupt wint patterns enough to blanket the whole earth, not just north of the equator. If it were only sub-zero in the northern hemisphere, for example, warm winds from the south would rise and flow over the colder air in the north and push the clouds southward. The book "On the beach" was a fiction story about the very thing you describe, but the nuclear winter effect was unkown at the time it was written.

Why won't a World War 3 occur?
Primarily because of nuclear weapons. Without nuclear weapons, WW3 and WW4 would have started & ended in Korea, Vietnam, Cuba, Czechoslovakia, Ukraine or even India.The great thing about nuclear weapons is that they give people the chills. Imagine all the people talking about Hiroshima-Nagasaki even though they sustained less than 1% of all deaths in that war. As though the 99% of other deaths from bombs and bullets were from showering roses.People talk so much about nuclear weapons because in their minds the conventional bombs are not that dangerous. These conventional weapons don’t scare them to death when they actually should. Since the populace is not scared, they don’t stop their governments from fighting silly wars.The beauty of nuclear weapons is that it makes people really worry about the consequences of war. They cannot just send their young boys to war while they sip their coffee [like what the Americans are doing while fighting half dozen wars right now]. The nuclear weapons promise total destruction. Someone could bomb their home right there in the middle of the US or China or Russia or India and instantly vaporize them. They could “enjoy” the same consequence as their brave lads on the frontlines that they have sent to fight [through voting].This bone-chilling fear of personal harm keeps us from being too irrational. Not trade or prosperity. There was enormous world trade before WW1, but they didn’t have a deadly weapon to scare the people.However, there will come a day when the danger of nuclear weapon will peter off. We will find a way to disable or destroy nuclear warheads in a consistent way. At that point, the public will once again lose this fear and plan of delivering vengeance. The leaders merely reflect the public opinions and they might act irrationally too. That is when the WW3 occur. Or there might be a party that could lose a nuclear weapon when a third party could steal and use against another nation. That will start a major war.Until that time, the present nuclear weapons regiment provide a sufficient protection against a war. Fear works.
