Is It Better For A Mother To Abort Her Female Fetus

Is it right to have an abortion when the fetus has a heartbeat?

Yes. A beating heart does not make a person. It just provides life, but something being alive doesn’t mean it’s a person. Cows are alive with a beating heart, but that doesn’t make them a person. A human with a beating heart may not be a person..Being a person depends on something else. Different people have different opinions on when personhood begins. As well as, you know, the value of bodily autonomy for the female gender during the medical condition of pregnancy. Somehow people think it just disappears. We females are no longer real people when we become pregnant…only the living tissue called a fetus is the person with full rights in that equation, to hell with the human rights of the mother :)If we are denied freedom of our bodies, are we truly people? Does the “right to life” of a fetus immediately cause the female host to become less than a person? Pro-lifers seem to think so.

Would liberals support a woman's right to abort her fetus because it's a girl (common in India and China)?

I support a woman's right to abortion, but the irony is it is seldom a woman's decision here in India. Female infanticide is shamefully still practiced in India, even though prenatal sex determination is a punishable offence here. So now the question arises how is the sex determined? I will leave it with you to ponder.Among so called educated circles, every evil in our society is attributed to illiteracy and poverty. So the educated elite are neither this nor that. The evils are blamed on rural India or the status of women in some parts of the country. So coming back to my question.. How is the sex of fetus determined in a country where it is legal offense. The answer to the best of my knowledge are following:People go abroad, take a sex determination test, do abortion and come back or come back and abort.Indian doctors reveal the gender to their parents under persuasion by force, peer pressure or money ( Forcing some one to a legal offense is very difficult). So the people who can afford to go abroad or the doctors who help in this crime are neither illiterate nor poor. In majority of cases they are residents of cities or towns. I would like to state that the abortion laws in India are quite liberal and fairly clear. Still people commit this heinous crime.Sorry for the rant. This issue is close to my heart and a huge cause for embarrassment as an Indian.

In India, why do mother-in-laws want their daughter-in-laws to abort female fetuses and when a girl is born, why are more women than men sad about it and hell bent upon torturing the daughter-in-laws?

See, the number of abortion of female foetus have decreased , it is still prevalent in rural areas .What I believe is that every mother-in-law has at some point of time been in a daughter-in-law and also a daughter. So she knows what kind of a life my granddaughter is going to lead in her life, because of her whole life experience, she knows what a women goes through in a lifetime so she doesn't want her unborn granddaughter to live the same hell of a life. And secondly she knows what her father has gone through to get her married in the first so she doesn't want her son to go through the same problems. This is the reason women are more hell bent than men to abort female foetus, because men don't know half of the problems women go through .Secondly, why mother-in-laws torture their daughter-in-laws? Two reasonsPeople give what they have receivedMay they try to make their daughter-in-laws tougher and ready for journey ahead in life. These are my opinion.

Who can tell me why abortion should be legal?

These are all old arguements.
A fetus is not a human being. That's why it has a BEATING HEART 18 days after fertilization, and BRAIN WAVES 6 weeks after fertilization. Abortions cannot even be performed until after 6 weeks. So this fetus, with a heart that beats the same as any human being and brain waves that support brain activity (yes, even-- gasp! thinking) just as every human on this planet... well, it's just a tissue. No value. No purpose. 'It' should be given no chance at life.
Even if this 'fetus' that miraculously becomes a human being (just like magic!) after it leaves it's mother were given the chance at life, it might as well be dead anyway, since it could be born into poverty. One less human being overpopulating this planet. Good riddance.
So... tell me, all you intelligent people out there, who is the one forcing their views on others?
Oh, and by the way, if you've done all your 'research', have you bothered to 'research' how abortions are performed?

If abortion is not considered murder, then why is it considered double homicide when a pregnant woman is killed?

Ah, the good old double standard.Democrats say it is a woman’s right to have an abortion. Republicans don’t. They call it murder. But, they both agree that when a man kills a woman, who is pregnant, he should be punished. To make sure he gets a “fair” punishment, they nail him with two murder charges, even if he didn’t know she was pregnant. She might even not know it. It’s how “our” system works. Now, I can see it if she’s clearly pregnant and, knowing this, he kills her. But, politicians and others are exempt from this, even if they KNOW she’s pregnant. In fact, this is the reason some women have been murdered in the first place. To me, it’s simple. The baby hasn’t taken it’s first breath. Until it is apart from the mother, it’s part of the mother. Her choice. Now, I’m against abortion. But, the woman has to carry and care for the baby for 9 months, give birth, and then watch after it if she decides to keep it for up to 18 years. She decides on its treatments, what it eats, what it wears, and so on. If she decides that it should have a vaccine that kills it, will she be punished? Now, if she doesn’t have the vaccine, there are those who would have her lynched, but not the other way around.Years ago, Roe v. Wade decided this. Now, it’s up for debate again. We have a right winger in office and it’s endangered. So, it’s double murder. If a sane democrat got in, it wouldn’t be. The fact is, it’s better and safer if it is legal and left to the mother than the state. Of course, the state doesn’t care how many women die during illegal abortions, or how many get sick and injured. They claim it’s a matter of safety and all that, but it really is about their power and getting votes. We need sanity in this government. It is either murder for having an abortion AND a double murder if a man murders a pregnant woman (might help stop violence against women, but I doubt it) or it isn’t murder for an abortion and the man doesn’t face a double charge. But, we have a two party system and it’s messed up. This is one of those debates that split most people up and keep the same old problems going generation after generation. I’m actually surprised the republicans aren’t for Prohibition again and the democrats aren’t against it. Or, to make it interesting, the democrats are anti alcohol while being pro drugs. Anything to confuse people, you know?

Do Pro-Choice advocates condemn a woman’s right to abort a fetus based on gender? Are there any taboo abortions?

In the end, the choice remains the woman's, though I am against those who pressure her to have an abortion when she would rather carry it to term and I'm against her choice being overridden by anyone who would slip an abortion pill into her drink without her knowledge and I'm against her being punished for having a child that isn't approved of by society while also being vilified for aborting because of that.Issues with the gender based abortions would be better addressed with sexism related issues. So long as a woman faces struggles in society that makes having a pregnancy nonviable, she ought to have that option. It's society's loss if they want to kill off one gender and it ought to be addressed for practical reasons. Until then, people across another country have no business dictating otherwise what someone should be doing with their body.

What are good gifts for a woman on mother's day who is contemplating aborting (some of) her fetus?

Oh, my. What a very difficult time for you both, and what a bittersweet Mother's Day. I understand why you're having a hard time thinking of a gift. What about a heart-shaped locket to represent your love for her and your hope for your family? Or, if she likes charm bracelets, you could get her a bracelet with just one charm - a heart or something else meaningful to the two of you. You can add to it later with charms to represent your children and other things that are special to you. I wish you blessings and hope your situation turns out for the very best.

Does a fetus have more rights than a woman?

No, but depending on where you live, the mother’s rights of being able to terminate her pregnancy might be superceded for a certain period of time.In the United States this isn’t due to a decision when life begins but on a number of political solutions found within the various states, such as does the child experience pain when being torn apart during the abortion process? Apparently they have decided that a baby in the womb experiences pain at 20 weeks, however, I think that’s a barbaric and logically inconsistent standard...Logically the criteria for life, should be the same used for death, which are brain waves and heartbeat. Once a child develops brain waves and a heartbeat, they should be considered the tiniest of American Citizens and their rights of life liberty and pursuit of happiness, should then supercede their mothers rights to privacy as created and stated by the Supreme Court in 1973.Babies like all Americans should be guaranteed the right to pursue their constitutional rights which supersedes their mother’s rights because the Constitution is of a higher status, than the desires of a left wing court.Regardless, rights need to be determined by what is logically consistent and not political will, just because people want to screw like rabbits and not have to deal with or consider the consequences of their actions, doesn’t mean the child doesn’t have actual rights!Shame on the United States of American for allowing the slaughter of the most innocent of its citizens to continue.

Aborting because of gender?

I really really REALLY wanted to have a little girl. All my life ever since i was little, I wanted nothing but that cute mummy daughter relationship all my girlfriends have with their baby girls. I've done everything in my power to make sure I would get a girl, I didn't orgasm when me and my husband tried to coincieve, I tracked my ovulation cycle and had sex on the day most likely for female sperm to survive. I was on the baby girl pregnancy diet. No luck! When we discovered the gender, I was devastated I cried in the ultrasound room.

I have two boys already and I don't want another. I'm giving up and I want a abortion. This is the final straw. but my husband is threatening to divorce me and thinks I'm being "selfish". It's my body! Why should I have to be a mother to a child that I don't want? He gets the two little boys that he wanted. Why can't I be happy?

No one knows how hard it is on a parent when you don't get the baby you wanted. People abort their fetuses when they have genetic disorders and disabilities, but I'm suddenly "selfish" because I want a little girl? I went into a depression when I found out the gender. Maybe I'm overreacting. I need some support. This so so very hard...
