Is It Constipation If When You Are Trying To Push Out Bowel

Can pushing while constipated hurt my baby?

I know, not the favorite topic, right? I had this problem too. I told my Dr. about it and he said that it was normal, just to get more fiber. I would take Fiber Choice chewable tablets. I tried a few different fiber supplements (powder, pills, and chewables), and these were my favorite. They were easy to take and weren't too gross. Also, if your prenatal vitamin has Calcium, you need to make sure that you are getting Magnesium, too. If you are taking Calcium with no Magnesium, this can cause constipation. You can ask your Dr. about getting a different vitamin that either has both or doesn't have calcium at all, and take a supplement that has both in one (that is what I did).

As far as hurting the baby. I'm not a doctor, but I'm pretty sure that it isn't going to hurt your baby, or cause any complications. I had plenty of trouble with constipation in the beginning and a little at the end, and had no complications at all during my pregnancy.

Congratulations and good luck!

Diarrhea and constipation??? confused???

ok so ill get the pain i usually get when i have an upset stomach, and the feeling of the usual rush to the bathroom, and it realllly feeels like i need to go, but then i dont/cant, but after back and forth to the bathroom like 4 or 5 times with pain ill have loose stools.

what the hell does this mean?

and then through the rest of the day im fine, it only happens once a day. my doctor knows something is going on but isnt sure since my symptoms are so vague so he wants to wait another day or two. cause its not quite diarrhea because its not frequent enough.

any ideas?

11 wk old constipated, 3 days with no bowel movement but keeps trying to go?

My doctor advised me give a teaspoon of prune juice in a bottle everyday for a week. It didn't help so she then advised me to give him 1/2 ounce apple juice with 3 ounces of water. He was about 8 weeks old at the time. There was a LOT of poop, though.

They sell suppositories for baby constipation, but you may want to ask a doctor first. Hope he feels better soon, poor baby.

Can constipation cause dizziness?

If you are not taking adequate fluids and nutrients you may have electrolyte problems and constipation. In this case your heart may not work well and you may get dizzy. If your blood flow to your gut is not good or there are other inflammatory issues in the bowel causing blood loss you may get dizzy. If you are not moving around you may get constipated and you may get dizzy when you stand suddenly due to postural hypotension, but the constipation is not causing the dizziness.Of course some people have died or passed out when they have made a vagal maneuver trying to push out a hard stool. But that is a nerve stimulation that causes that issue.

Can Constipation while pregnant cause my water to break?

ok i know the question seems kinda retarded, But i am really bad constipated! I have to Sit for about an hour of pushing just to allow 1 ball of bowel to come out? I have tried Stool Softeners, Powders, my doc has even gave me a suppository? Well my question is, can me pushing hard like that for that long break my water? or do i have nothing to worry about? And what can i do about this horrible constipation? Its not only from me being 31 weeks pregnant but its from my Hypothyroidism and the iron supplements i take... Some please help!

Bowel Movements and Fasting eating only one meal per day- no pork, beef, deserts or snacks, no fried foods?

Yeah it's normal. This is a problem a lot of anorexics have and eventually it weakens their sphincter muscle due to lack of use, making them constipated when they really do have to go. You should be eating small meals throughout the day and not restricting the amount of food you eat to be healthy. If you keep going with this it will have disastrous effects on your health.

edit- don't use laxatives either because they won't help you in this situation. they will only weaken your sphincter more and add to the irregularity of the elimination process in your body, and this can cause liver damage. if you resume eating normal meals then your problem will go away. that's really the only way to do it.

Why after pooping I feel like there is more left but when I push nothing comes out?

As Tasha’s answer said, you may be constipated. Poop should be solid, but not hard, and “logs” basically. If you decide to take a stool softener, try something more natural. Never take a stimulant laxative. Try metamucil or even epsom salts. Yes, you heard me right- Epsom Salts. However, Epsom Salts are strong, and not good for people who need low-magnesium or sodium diets- in general, they are a last resort, if you’ve nothing else on hand and no money and/or insurance.Metamucil is very good, and is more natural.Things like prune juice, and other natural foods or drinks with natural fiber are best, if that is enough to do the trick. You should have a healthy poop at least once, or even twice a day- if you eat 3 meals, or even two decent ones.Fiber is key. Eat fruits and especially green vegetables!Happy “Constitutionals”. ;)*EDIT: I need to add that many medications can cause constipation, amongst other things more serious such as health problems. At any rate, you should be pooping as described at the very least, once a day. If the symptoms do not go away after eating more fiber- then within a few days you really need to talk to your doctor.

I feel like I have to take a shit but when I go to the toilet, nothing comes out. What am I supposed to do?

Miralax (or the store brand equivalent) works wonders. It won’t help that day, but you should be able to dominate one the next day.If Miralax doesn’t help, there’s a colonoscopy prep called “GoLYTELY”. It’s behind the counter at the pharmacy; you just have to ask for it. That name is bullshit. Call into work for about 2 days, and be ready to sleep in the bathroom. When it hits, IT HITS. Hardcore. My husband had a bowel obstruction. The doctors were about to do surgery, when an old Cajun nurse slipped in our room with a big bottle of this stuff (about a gallon), and just said “Honey, start drinking. As much, as fast as you can. You won’t be going to surgery, I promise.”Jesus, was she right. We finally had to unhook all his monitors and let him drag his IV to the bathroom. She gave him bag after bag of fluids. No surgery the next day. Clean as a whistle. If neither of those work, you may have a serious blockage of some kind. Time to head to the ER. Lack of bowel movement can make you extremely ill if you let it go.

What are ways to treat a bowel movement too large to pass?

First you should treat with prevention by use of stool softeners, increased hydration, increased fiber in your diet, and daily walking. If you are on medications that cause constipation, let your Dr know because it's possible you can be switched to a different medication that won't cause the problem or adding one that helps with the constipation.I have yet to purchase this product, but the Squatty Potty can help. It moves your body into the natural way we were meant to defecate. To see if this will work, buy a 4-pack of Scott toilet paper WITH THE ROLL. Start with each foot over the paper roll with the opening for the ROLL at the soles of your feet. Make sure you are in a squatting position, such as under a tree. If you are tall may need to stack two rolls under your feet.If this doesn't work, you may try the backpacker's secret. They squat but lean their back into a tree or boulder. For you, this would be pushing your back against the toilet seat.Lastly, remove toilet paper rolls and squeeze very hard internally. Your trying to thin the bowel movement and push the rest further into the canal. Lay down somewhere comfortable with some newspaper under your butt. Breathe easily and relaxed and eventually things should start moving out.Of course, like another poster said you can manually disimpact yourself. If you're not that limber, that's cheaper done at a Drs office or an after hours place. You can always call on a friend in the medical profession. I was once called upon for such duty. She was the most impacted I'd ever done; it was like rock. Many alternate methods were employed, but under no circumstances would she acquiesce and allow me to take her to the ER. After about 5 Fleet enemas and manual disimpaction, she finally was delivered of an odd-shaped mass the size of a baseball or an exceptionally large orange.
