Is It Illegal To Use An Online Pic For A T Shirt

Is it illegal to make a band shirt with an image?

I wanted to make a shirt of a favorite band of mine. I came across this video on YouTube and it was a DIY band shirts. They used an image on google from a band and the logo and used print on paper and iron it on the shirt. It looked cool and I wanted to try it for myself. Well I go to the bands official site and buy a shirt but they're too expansive and I don't like any of the shirt designs. Can I make a shirt on a "create your own design on a shirt" website or do a print on?? Im not gonna sell them or anything I just want to make them for me to wear only. Is it illegal?? Thanks

Is it illegal to wear weed shirts? it says only the best buds stick together and has pics ofweed. isit ilegal?

It depends on the circumstances. You are supposed to be accorded the freedom of speech, but the Robert's Supreme Court has stripped some of that right away from even adults for the benefit of a school's anti-drug message. In the "Bong Hits for Jesus" case and 18 year old man held a 14' long banner while off school property and while school was excused for the Olympic Torch coming through Juneau. The banner was removed by a school administrator, and was upheld by the court.

John McCain has said he respects Roberts and will appoint judges like him. So is it illegal?, not yet.

Is it legal to use an anime or a character from a TV series on t-shirts for selling online?

No. It is not legal. Both the companies you mentioned have no rights / licenses from original creators of various characters etc that they use on their t-shirts. In fact they don’t even have any designers working for them. They are often just copying designs of companies like GingerCrush, Bewakoof, WeTheChic, VoxPop, FreeAuthority, etc.Go to Tumblr, Reddit, you will find plenty of designers cribbing, whose work these companies have stolen. They have also received several DMCA notices as well. And quality per say too, they are really crappy.

Isn't recoloring illegal?

If one is doing it just for themselves, it is NOT illegal. ( http://www.copyright.gov )

And, just because YOU find it "stupid," it doesn't mean it IS stupid. When you were younger, did you thing coloring books were "stupid?" Or do you find it stupid, now, that you are the ripe old, mature age of fifteen?

Is it illegal to take picture of library books?

This is a very interesting question without a clear cut answer.

Obviously we are allowed to make photocopies of books, libraries provide photocopies to allow us to do that.

The rules vary a little bit between countries as to how much we can copy.

For example in Australia it is illegal to photocopy all of a book, but you can copy, I think, 20% of a book without breaking copyright laws.

In China you can copy the whole book, as long as you don't make many copies (what is the exact definition of many, I don't know).

So if you treat photographing a book as you would photocopying the book, then apply the same rule and assume you can copy 20% of the book.

If the book is out of print then many countries also let you copy the whole book.

So I say go for it.

Legality of using internet images for printing t-shirt designs?

Hello,

My club and I need custom t-shirts for an upcoming competition where we need to wear the shirt to represent our school during the event, sort of like a team uniform/jersey. I've been tasked with coming up with the design image to print on t-shirts and to forward the image file to our treasurer so we can purchase the shirts from a local t-shirt printing seller. I'm using a combination of Adobe Photoshop, GIMP, and Microsoft Paint to finalize the image. I've obtained a few images from generic Google image searches that I really liked and to simplify the process since I'm in a bit of rush to get these t-shirts ordered. However, I'm just wondering about the legality of using online-obtained images to print on t-shirts and to order them and wear them that way. Is it illegal to use the images? Do I really need to contact each individual uploader of the image to print the image on t-shirts and buy them? The intent of the image is to be used for t-shirts which we will buy with our own funds, and not for our own profit or to be sold by us. If the t-shirts are for our personal use (like wearing them as team jerseys during the competition), is it ok for me to use the images that way?

Thank you, I appreciate the responses!
