I've never had a bleeding nose in my life and I'm 19. Is this normal?

I’ve come to consider “normal” to mean commonly experienced by most people (a la the bell curve). So yes, it’s normal at 19 not to have experienced a bleeding nose. A nose can bleed spontaneously because one’s blood pressure can break through the highly vascular nasal mucosa. Indeed the olfactory blood vessels may be only 1 cell thick and occasionally very weak. Such thinness is essential to smell. Otherwise inhaling the vapors of cognac swirled in a brandy snifter wouldn’t be as enjoyable. The olfactory nerves and blood vessels are linked directly to the brain via the olfactory bulb. The fact that you’ve never had a spontaneous nose bleed at 19 suggests your endothelial cells are young and healthy. Some day you may have a bloody nose, which is the same but different. You’ve likely another 60 years to live. Relax and enjoy the journey.

Reason for a bloody nose?
I just woke up right now and before I went to this site, I started to get a small bloody nose, whats the reason for this???

I am really healthy, I exercise a lot.

The only thing different thing I did was went to the gym and lift weights(I haven't lift weights in two months)

Is that the reason?

Or is it sometimes normal to get a nose bleed out of nowhere?

My boyfriend keeps getting nosebleeds? I'm really worried?

Something really bad? No, not on their own. If anything sinister was going on, your bf would have more symptoms than just nosebleeds on their own.

Nosebleeds are incredibly common, almost always harmless and are almost always caused by damage to the tiny blood vessels inside the nostrils. Boyfriend isn't picking his nose, is he? Or blowing his nose too hard? Does he have any allergies? Or has he had a cold recently? At a push, they can rarely be a sign of high blood pressure (your boyfriend can always get his blood pressure checked at a pharmacy for free so no need to involve his parents - just drag him along yourself if you're worried). Nosebleeds come in at annoying rather than anything to be terrified about.

When you go to the doctor about nosebleeds, they'll usually just refer you to an ENT surgeon to have those tiny blood vessels inside your nose sealed off. It takes about 5 minutes to do, is entirely painless (cuz they use a numbing spray first) and is done by putting what looks like a cotton wool bud/orange stick inside your nostril and holding it there for a few seconds. That's all.

I've had 5 (spontaneous) nose bleeds this week. Should I be worried?

Its not a bad idea to see and ENT (ear, nose and throat) specialist. Its not unusual to cause a nose bleed when you are asleep. Often a good scratch on the nasal wall will bleed, scab, bleed, scab and so forth. Using Neosynepharine .5%, on a cotton ball will help stop the epistaxis (nosebleed.) With a pen light or flashlight try to gently spread your nostril and, standing in front of a mirror, try to spot the location of your epistaxis. THAT is where you want to apply the cotton ball wet it’s Neosynepherine or Afrin. Try to train yourself to keep your fingers out of your nose when asleep. Hope this helps.

My boyfriend always gets nose bleeds and im worried its serious what could be wrong with him?

You're boyfriend is not going to die, so fret not my dear...however, a visit to the doctor may be in order...
Basically what causes the majority of nose bleeds is that the little blood vessel in your nose is closer to the surface in comparison to when their nose doesn't bleed. When the very thin layer of skin gets too dry and cracks it can expose that little blood vessel which will begin to bleed.
Hot dry air, allergy irritations, the heater, the air conditioner things of that sort can all add to drying your nose out and cause a nose bleed.
Things you can do to help prevent it are:
Sleep with a humidifier on esp if its in the winter and your heater being on is causing more to occur, or if you have the AC on in the summer and its causing more.
Take a cotton swab and swab the inside of your nose with Vaseline or neosporin to help keep the skin in there moist and soft.
If it becomes an ongoing problem and your other half is getting them too many times a week go to the doctor. The doctor may recommend your boyfriend has his nose cauterized and that will usually take care if it. This is a simple procedure, a bit uncomfortable but worth it if the nose bleeds are happening all the time...some time after a few years some people have to get it re cauterized.

Good luck amd I hope my answer was helpful to you.

Why does my boyfriend get daily nose bleeds? I'm so worried?

Okay so my boyfriend is 19 and he's been getting frequent nosebleeds for a really long time of his life but recently they've been getting worse like he had one at 3 am the woke him up and then today at 2 and it was a lot of blood. I'm very scared for him and he doesn't have insurance so he won't go to the doctors:( does anyone know what might be the cause of this or how I could help him? Thanks in advance.

Ps.... His nose is very sensitive and if I accidentally hit it or tap it a little hard it'll start gushing blood... Sometimes it'll just randomly start on its own too. The bleeding can last a minute to 15 mins and they range in severity

8 months preggo and experiencing nose bleeds...do i need to worry?

Yes, nosebleeds do tend to occur more often during pregnancy. Pregnancy can cause the blood vessels in your nose to expand, and your increased blood supply puts more pressure on those delicate vessels, causing them to rupture more easily. Although it's unpleasant and inconvenient, an occasional minor nosebleed is generally harmless. I've never had nosebleeds before in my life, but I got them all the time when I was pregnant. And I haven't had one since having my daughter... Just another weird symptom of pregnancy!

Is it normal for a nosebleed to last hours, losing a pint or two of blood?

Your friend might be having posterior nosebleeds.Anterior nosebleeds come from the front area of the nose (the cartilage that separate the nostrils) and are much easier to treat. Posterior nosebleeds involve the large vessels in the back of the nose and will bleed longer and heavier than anterior bleeds.I’ve had anterior nosebleeds, usually from dry sinuses, and I’ve had a posterior nosebleed. My anterior nosebleeds took about 20 minutes, at most, to get under control and involved minimal blood loss.My posterior nosebleed was the result of a severely dry and irritated nose (I live in Atlanta where we’ve been getting the smoke from the wildfires) and a massively deviated septum (It’s congenital and has been this way since birth, it doesn’t affect the cosmetic look of my nose, the ENT said fixing it would only partially help my getting colds and sinus infections). It lasted from about 1AM to about 5:30AM and my nose, face, body, pajamas, and bathroom looked the scene from the Shining with the river of blood coming out of the elevator. One of the larger vessels in the posterior section had gotten irritated and burst. It had finally stopped on its own, with what the doctor said was likely about 16oz of blood lost, which is about a pint.I’m not saying it’s definitely what your friend had, and I’m not saying it’s not, but it does happen.
