How do we get tonsillitis from eating too much sweets?

Whether or not you can get tonsillitis from eating too many sweets depends on your medical belief system. In the US the majority of people practice Western Medicine which does NOT stand behind the theory. In Western Medicine, tonsillitis is believed to be caused by bacteria. Only practitioners of Eastern or Alternative Medicine will tell you that you can get tonsillitis other than from bacterial causes.
Personally, I'm with the Westerners. See a doctor if you suspect tonsillitis.

Can I eat fast food while having tonsillitis?

You can eat whatever you want (although some foods are better than others), the thing is eating a more liquid diet will be easy on your tonsils. Solid food will not feel that good if you have a sore throat…No sugar or honey is recommended, nor sweet fruits, liquids (herbal tea with lemon, hot, unsweetened), no fat, dairy products, nothing fried, no acid fruits or veggies (except lemon), no pickles, sauces, cold drinks. On the other hand ice cream worked like a charm for me…

What should I eat when I have tonsillitis?

Any warm food with soft or liquid texture is okay, what about…Tekwan! Fish cake with clear broth soup. A dish originated from South Sumatera-Indonesia, yum! Enjoy it warm folks! I’m from Indonesia, and this dish along with pempek(another fish cake dish but eaten with vinegar) is a must try if you’re visiting South Sumatera.Or…Fish porridge! Porridge is definitely a common comfort food in several parts of the world, i believe most country has their own signature porridgeAnd, don’t forget the ultimate combination of Vitamin C and anti oxidantHoney Lemon Tea! Consume it 3–4 times a day to boost your immune system!Just remember don’t consume anything that too hot, warm is the key point here, since hot food/drink could irritate your tonsil. One more thing, delicious food that we better avoid during tonsilitis is…Chocolate and cheese! Both could worsen your cough and thicken your pleghm during tonsilitis, so it’s better to avoid it for a while! Conclusion: There are a lot of other foods and drinks that could soothen our tonsil, the point is warm food with soft texture to relaxing our tonsil.Enjoy your food! Should I drink cold water when I have tonsillitis?

So,I have tonsillitis...and it hurts REALLY bad.
For the past 4 months I've gotten sick about 6 times, each time lasting about two weeks,I get a fever,a severe headache, among other stuff and my throat HURTS LIKE HELL!
So,should I drink cold water?

What to eat when you get your tonsils out?

I just had mine taken out Friday April 10th. I'll tell you the whole ice cream thing just isnt wise. The milk mixed with the pain meds will cause some nausea. And trust me gagging hurts! Go for popsicles if you wnat something cold but a bland flavor, like banana. The heavier flavors leave an aftertaste and doesn't feel good trying to swallow it.

For me warm and soft felt MUCH better than anything cold. Stove Top stuffing has been a lifesaver. It has to be chewed (and the chewing REALLY helps ease the pain) and it takes a lot of fluid to get it down (which is VERY important). So it kinda kills 2 birds with one stone. Avoid anything really salty. It burns like crazy and will suck the fluids right out of you and if you are having trouble drinking, you'll want to really avoid salt. Ramen noodles without the flavor pack or only half of it is good.

The worst part of it all was the pain in my jaw and ears. my throat wasn't really that bad.

My top advice for the whole thing:
1. CHEW CHEW CHEW it really does healp ease off the soreness.
2. Take your pain meds right on schedule. Don't give the pain a chance to keep up.
3. Drink until you feel like you are floating. You don't want the back of your throat to get dry. Think about how a big scab feels when it dries out. That's what will be going on in your throat if you don't keep it moist. Plus, pain will keep you from drinking, which will cause dehydration, dehydration increases pain, it's a viscious cycle!
4.Be prepared for when the scab comes off, it will bleed. Some more than others, but don't freak out! Gargle with ICE COLD water and try to keep from gagging.
5. Burping, gagging, and hiccups are about as close to the third circle of hell as you can get for the first week. Avoid them at all costs!!!

What Party food items are OK to eat during Tonsilitis?

Tonsilitis and party food don't go well together! But well you definitely can enjoy the party keeping in mind the following:Drink soupEat rice based food with not too spicy gravy (daal would be my best bet)Eat curd rice, if availableEat desserts but dont eat too much of it as it can aggravate tomsilitis. Possibly restrict yourself to the warm variety of sweets and puddings. Avoid ice cream and the cold variety. (Cold things are given when you get tonsilitis surgery done)Avoid crunchy and crispy goodAvoid very spicy foodRoti/bread variety may hurt your throat. So avoid that.

Can we eat chocolate when we have tonsillitis?

In my case sugar makes bacterial tonsillitis and gum inflammation worse. I would prefer sage tea, walnut leaf tea and chamomile tea if I were you. Gargling with chlorine dioxide mouthwash might help too. (These don’t replace antibiotics.) If you have tonsillitis often, then before the surgery test for GERD (acid reflux).

Will drinking cold beverages and eating sweets cause tonsillitis?

No tonsillitis is caused by an infection.
