Is It Okay For To Try Weed

Is it ok to TRY weed?

Ok, hi. I'm only 14 years old. About to enter in to my freshman year of high school. I noticed that a lot of my friends have started smoking "pot".
I have had many health classes throughout my elementary and middle school years. I understand that pot is referred to as a "Gateway drug". However, I can never see myself doing anything else. As far as I know, at least according to my friends and a few family members, pot has never been linked to the death of any person.
I am curios now though. I'm not being pressured, or even offered weed, but if I am presented with the question of whether or not I want to TRY it, do you think it would be ok?
I am really looking for personal opinions here. Give me any experiences you have had yourself, or that you know other people have had. Give me a yes or no answer, as well as an explanation. Also, feel free to add in any little facts you may have about the drug weed itself. I'm very interested in trying, and learning things about this drug. Thanks!

Is it ok to try weed once?

I wouldn't do it. I see students in high school who are high off of pot and they are nothing like themselves. Don't feel pressured into doing a drug just because your friends use drugs. And, no one goes into trying a drug saying "I'm going to be an addict." They all try a drug once and beforehand say they'll just try it...Just a thought.

Then again, do whatever you want. Your choices are yours.

Is smoking weed at 13 ok?

No, no and furthermore NO!Patrick Alexander is probably being a little tongue in cheek and playing with you. I’ve known hundreds of folks who smoke(d) weed and not one became addicted. And crackhead? No. Ridiculous. However, having said that and telling you that I began smoking at about age 20, I agree with Patrick’s intent: to scare you off weed. Please don’t smoke now. Don’t risk brain rot. Here’s the reason, and it’s an extremely important one:Your 13 year old brain is still growing. Weed will interfere with that growth. That’s it in a nut shell. The teen years are the most important time in your brain growth. Because an extremely important part of your brain is growing: your frontal lobe.Photo: The frontal lobe is that raspberry-colored section upper right. The frontal lobe is where complex thinking happens. Judgement. Impulse control (which teens notoriously lack) Take a few minutes and check out the Wikipedia article on the frontal lobe. Worth a read even if a tad technical. You’ll get the point: it’s the single most important thinking place in your brain.Weed would interfere with frontal lobe growth because of weed’s active ingredient, THC, (Tetrahydrocannabinol if you must know. The high maker) Another Wiki article on THC awaits your expanding teen mind.THC attaches itself to the brain’s fat, and our brains are mostly fat. Smoking weed makes one kinda fuzzy wuzzy and woozy. Very pleasant to be sure, but you don’t want the most important part of your brain permanently fuzzy wuzzy and woozy, do you?“Stoners” are kids who took the risk and started smoking in their early teens. They are sad jokes who will never fully think well. Ever. “Fer sure.”Please think about that. Never is a long time.Stoner in the making. This must NOT be you!Look, I loved marijuana, aka Miss Mary Jane. I spent many a pleasant stoned time with her and friends. Great fun! Wonderful insights into…everything! But I didn’t start smoking until I was in my twenties. My brain had built out to its present eccentric state. Yours hasn’t.Please be patient. Don’t let friends badger you into smoking. Just say, “Later.” Let your fine teen brain grow without damaging additives (that includes alcohol) Then, when you hit your twenties with a fully built brain, fire up. The high will be all the sweeter for the wait.“Awesome! I can’t believe we got this high, ha ha.”

I want to try weed once, is this a bad idea?

I'm a very sensible 18 yr old girl , i don't usually do much out of my comfort zone, but i'm sick of always pleasing someone and i want to start making my own mistakes. My old friend smokes weed and wants to introduce me to it and says you have to get into a mindset first. My younger brother occasionally tries it and thinks i should. But my housemate thinks i'm not the right personality to enjoy it (i try to be in control a lot, but that's because a guy made me this way but trying weed will be with someone i can fully relax with).

I don't think i'd get into weed after trying it once, i barely like alcoholi guess and i don't smoke. But i do want to try it, i want to be my old self, the person who used to release theirselves.

What are pros & cons

Smoking weed at 16, is it bad?

Yes and No. The problem with smoking weed at 16 is that a lot of times 16 year olds aren't mature enough to smoke. You are doing something that's illegal and if you aren't smart about it you may end up getting caught and arrested. Not to mention your parents probably will make life hard on you if they find out. I'm wondering why you are doing a drug that you know nothing about. You should do some research before you try a drug.

Many people smoked at 16. I did. I made good grades and was never in any trouble. I'm actually a geologist now and so weed never caused me to have any negative consequences. There are stories that it is a "gateway" drug but that's not true. When someone smokes weed they are normally around people who do other drugs because they have to obtain it somewhere. Most dealers don't just sell weed and so you must have self control and enough personal responsibility to not be talked into things you don't want to do by friends or dealers.

If you are really worried then you should just look up marijuana and read about it. Many people say that it is harmful and others say it isn't. The best thing you can do is look up research studies done by independent scientists. However, based on personal experience, I'll say that medically you will be just fine. Even if you continue smoking for years you will be ok medically. Just be careful because it can wreck your life, your career, and your future if you are caught.

Is it okay to smoke weed occasionally?

Weed is a nice drug. No long-term effects physically, even with abuse. If you have an addictive personality, I'd advise that you don't try it. If you have a family history of psychoses (schizophrenia, clinical depression, etc.), I'd advise that you don't try it. If you're big on sports, I'd advise that you don't smoke it (you can try vaping or eating, though). If you're looking to escape from emotions and hardship, I'd advise you don't try it (this definitely leads to addiction and harder drugs). And if you're under 18, I'd advise that you don't try it.

If you like adventure, I advise you try it. If you want to experience a broader sense of the real and abstract, I advise that you try it. If you like food, music, and hikes, I advise you try it.

As far as smoke goes, the lungs can easily heal occasional use (up to smoking daily, I'd say). Vaporizing is also a healthy option -- no carbon particulates.
