Is It Okay To Think About Doing Something Or Things And Not Act On It

Is thinking of saying something really mean to a person considered bad, even if they don't act on it?

No, having  bad thoughts does not make us bad. We are already partly bad, that is why we have bad thoughts. They are a sign that we are not perfect. So these are opportunities to improve ourselves.Because you are partly bad and partly good, you can choose between following the bad thoughts and following the good thoughts. For this person to not act on their bad thought, they must also have had a good thought and followed it. If they had only the angry thought, it would have caused an angry action immediately. This happens to some people. They are like firecrackers, which explode as soon as they experience friction.  The fact that the person chose to follow the good thought is a reason to be happy. It is also important what we do with our thoughts after such an event. If we act nice but we keep the angry thought alive and feed it, then it will be stronger next time. But if we think such thoughts as "Everyone else is also facing a hard battle, perhaps the person was under a lot of pressure; I am glad I could help make things easier" then we are feeding the helpful thoughts inside us and they will grow stronger over the years.Sometimes we have to stand up to rude people, but it is best to do so without anger. "Sorry, but you are making the other guests uncomfortable. Please leave."  "No, we cannot change this. I am sorry that it makes you upset, but the project is more important." When we can speak like that, it has more strength than giving a rude answer, and many people will respect it. This is how it is usually seen in civilized places.

Is it illegal to think about doing something illegal?

There are two components of a crime according to criminal jurisprudence.Mens Rea - Mens Rea means a guilty mind.Actus Reus - Actus Reus implies the actual act that is counted as the crime. Now, assuming that the law applicable in question is Indian law that is Indian Penal Code, 1860,An act would be considered a crime only when both the components are present i.eCrime= Mens Rea + Actus ReusMens Rea or Guilty Intentions alone are not punishable. A person might hatch a plan to kill someone in his mind and still he won’t be guilty of any offence.Similarly, an act committed innocently without any evil intention might not be punishable, for example, if a person has dug a ditch outside his house for some justified person like laying sewerage with the permission of Municipal Authorities and has placed sign boards and barricades, and despite those someone ends up falling in the pit and gets killed, the person who dug the ditch would be absolved from any criminal liability as he the element of Mens Rea i.e guilty mind is not present, even though though there is Actus Reus i.e the actual wrongful act (there are exceptions to this though, such as negligence etc.)

I think some very weird things but don't act on them. Is this okay?

When I turned 30, I tried to write a book. It took me about a week for me to realize that I was thinking about my book in terms of movies. Then it took me a month to get over the depression when I realized that I thought about just about everything in terms of movies, and action movies at that. (But I exaggerate). You don’t know how weird your thoughts are until you read a lot of books, because the weirdness in books far outstrips the weirdness of movies. Is it wrong to let the weird thoughts of dead authors invade your own brain? No. After a while you get used to it. You’re ingesting literature, but you’re not literally doing anything. You’ll realize that you’re getting literate when everybody else’s gross-outs don’t gross you out, but merely bore you.In the meantime, write a book about murder. Or at least a graphic description of the act. But make sure that your murderer starts by jumping out of a second story window with a pickaxe to the skull of a man walking his dog. You’ll find it easy to imagine but very difficult to buy a pickaxe and hang out on the second floor next to the dog park.

Does doing something bad make you a bad person?

if your answer is yes, would that make everyone bad? or are there specific things that even if someone stops doing, you think they are forever a 'bad person'...if so, what things?

will someone who did something bad be a bad person forever even if they don't do it again?

if your answer is no, what makes someone a bad/good person? is the only way to be a good person to never do anything bad, or are you judged on how you act in the present?

ex: an ex murderer/child molester hasn't done either of those things in 12+ years and now does community service, (volunteers, doesn't have to) and lives a normal life and is a good person to people who know him. if you found out someone like this (a seemingly good person) had murdered/molested years and years back, would that make you think they were a bad person or would you see it as transgressions in their past and keep the same opinion of them?

what if a person did something really bad when they were young (like under 15 years old) and stopped and felt bad? are they still a bad person forever?

and on the other hand, who would you think was a better person?

a) someone who murdered (or any other serious bad sin) but stopped, repented, and became a 'good person' and lived a better life

b) or someone who never did anything serious but never stopped lying, being rude to others etc. and just kept doing all of that little stuff but never truly became a 'good person'?

looking forward to reading your opinions!

just wondering...tell me what you think :)

How can you stop thinking too much and start acting right away?

Accept your best. The fear that grounds overthinking is often based in feeling that you aren't good enough--not smart enough or hardworking enough or dedicated enough. Once you've given an effort your best, accept it as such and know that, while success may depend in part on some things you can't control, you've done what you could do.Focus in positive thoughtsStart by doing little things which makes you happy. Improve yourself day by day, move out of your comfort zone which makes you to over think which is useless.Turn your fear to an excitementEverytime excitement makes you to do more with love. Fear turns out to loose confidence.Train your mind to see the good in every situation.

My girlfriend always acts like there's something wrong and won't tell me what it is?

All girls are a little different. You have your "You pissed me off, and I'm going to let you know right away what you did" type, then you have your "You upset me, but you have to GUESS what you did wrong, because I'm mad and I'm not telling you".

But mostly, I think girls get upset, but don't necessarily want to upset anyone else. I'm this way, too. Usually, I just need some time to think about why I'm angry before I'm ready to talk about it. You could try talking to your girlfriend (when she's not angry) about how she likes to deal with her problems. Ask her if she likes to avoid things, or if she likes it when you badger her (because personally, I hate that--it's guaranteed to take me from grumpy to flat out rampage).

Find out how she likes to deal--and then stick to that. If she says she likes to take time, then tell her you'll give her 30-60 minutes, and then you get to talk. If she likes to keep it bottled up, tell her she has to write it down so you can deal with it later.

She's got her ways, and I doubt you can change that. But let her know that you want to communicate with her, anyway possible.

Why do Americans ask thier police to do something like no knock warrant with ski mask on and act upset when they die?

Put all crimes aside it's designed to do one of 3 things make u freeze flight or fight. They fear for their life which triggers panic and lost in translation and top it off with many states having stand your ground some get off because of the tatic. I have family in law enforcement and I was breifly it angers me to hear normal civilians agree with the need for no knock raids and act concerned when someone they don't know dies. Asking for something they can't do that is turning law enforcement into a war situation that cuts down Chances of our survival. Don't you think that's little sick
