Is It Okay To Touch My Ears A Lot

I’ve had this piercing for about 2 years now and it still hurts to touch or sleep on sometimes. Now, I have a bump or a bubble (it seems) and my ear is swollen, red, super sore and throbbing or burning. What do I do?

2 years is a long time for something to be hurting. I had three piercings in my cartilage many many years ago, and it was fine for a couple years, but then I got those bumps and ended up taking them out and letting the holes close up. Then, about 5 years ago or so, I got another part of my cartilage pierced a little lower than the first one. I got it done at Claire's, which was a bad idea. They clean the studs, but I don't think they ever clean the gun. But anyway, that particular piercing got infected right away, I asked opinions on what to do. I ended up using peroxide and putting in a solid gold earring, and just left that in there, till the hole healed. And I've made sure to only use white gold or yellow gold in that particular earring hole, and so far no problems. I originally got it pierced with titanium, which was probably a bad idea. I’ve really only been able to wear gold earrings in any of my ear holes. Some people can't wear anything but gold, and I'm one of them. So depending on what you have in your ears right now you could try switching it over to gold, or letting them close up, or I would suggest a tattoo/piercing place, that has more education on the subject.

Does your boyfriend touch or bite your ears a lot?

When I was dating my husband, he used to always touch my ears, now he nibbles and bites them.

Touching ears?

ever since i was just a few months old i've been told that i'd fiddle with my ears as well as my parents ears unknowingly. I'm 16 now and i continue fiddling with their ears and mine. I always thought it might have been from boredom or it is just a habit. I've tried stopping but I cant. Without the feeling of fiddling with ears, my hands have this weird feeling and as soon as i start fiddling with ears again it goes away. Is this a sign of a problem?

Can you touch your ear drum with your fingers?

Not with any fingers I've ever seen! The diameter of an adult ear canal is about 0.7 cm. The diameter of the average adult pinky (the smallest finger) is about 1 cm. The ear canal is also not totally straight, so even if you had a teeny tiny finger, you would have to navigate around the bends of the ear canal. Our body parts tend to be proportional, so if you had a larger-than-average ear canal diameter, your fingers would likely be larger than average too.

My girlfriend won't let me touch her ears. Why?

How could you not already know this? OK, forgive me, I just thought everybody knew.

To some women, the ears are incredibly sensitive and a very powerful erogenous zone. And from experience, I mean powerful. As in you can kiss the back of her ear or suck on her earlobe a bit, and *sploosh* she is in the mood. I've dated several girls like that and even married one.

It doesn't work like that with every girl. And don't get me wrong: Even for the girls where it does work, you can't just nibble her ear and watch her jump your bones. And for god's sake, don't try to use it like some natural date-rape drug because no woman is THAT stongly affected by it! (I know what some of you are thinking)

Women, by the way, won't get really really really and I mean REALLY turned on in front of you until they're good and ready. I know we want to see it, but we want to see a lot of things that they want us to wait for. That's just the way it is.

So now you know. But pretend like you don't know, or she'll break up with you. If and when this girl does let you play with her ears, remember these four words: Hold on to something! You will not regret that she made you wait.

What happens if you touch your eardrum with a Q-Tip?

The ear drum gets perforated easily as it does not take much pressure to do this with a Q-tip. If you perforate it you will get very dizzy, there will be a piercing pain in the affected ear and your hearing on that ear is significantly diminished. See an ENT specialist right away. If it is confirmed that you perforated the ear drum, it will likely have to be surgically fixed. This procedure is called tympanoplasty. For this surgery a piece of your temporal muscle sheath is taken and this is used to patch the ear drum defect (see image).

Does anyone elses boyfriend love to touch their ears?

Ok, my boyfriend loves my ears. He always touches them, and plays with them. He bites them too. We started going out like 2 weeks ago. We were friends for a while, and go to the same college. He is 21, and I'm 20. Even when we were just friends he made it obvious that he liked my ears. He always found ways to touch them. I think its kinda strange, but I don't mind. The other day he whispered something to me, and I felt his lips on my ears. Then he gently bit my earlobe. It was weird at first, but I actually liked it! I have no idea why! I never thought I would like it, and it turns me on. Does anyone else like it? He does it in such a sexy way. OMG!!! I don't like his ears. In fact, I have never been tempted to touch anyones ears, not even mine. I have never touched his, and if I have, it was not intentionally. I hope he is not expecting me to do it back, because I won't. I just love it when he does it to me. It feels so good. I'm kinda weirded out that I like it though.

I got my cartilage pierced last week and it is sore to touch and it may be swollen. It has bleed once but not a lot. Is this normal?

It is quite normal for a cartilage piercing to take some time to heal—I had mine pierced eight weeks ago and it is still a little sore! It can take anywhere between three and twelve months to heal completely!Don’t let that concern you though. Continue to gently clean the piercing twice a day with clean, salted water and try to keep your fingers away from it as much as possible. If you have to touch it make sure you wash your hands first, to avoid pushing bacteria into the piercing site. Also, try to avoid sleeping on it and keep hair away from it as best as you can, particularly if you have long hair.Keep an eye out for infection and seek medical advice if you suspect the piercing is becoming particularly aggravated, swollen, hot to the touch, or leaking pus. You will likely find in a few more weeks that the piercing only hurts when you touch it; in which case, just stop touching it!Good luck over the next few weeks! It'll all be worth it eventually!
