Is It Possible To Lose Appetite

Is it normal to lose your appetite because of a crush?

It’s not exactly normal, but young people often feel too excited and nervous to eat when they have a crush on someone. While it is not usually a problem, if it is affecting your health or alertness you do need to try and turn this around.First, try to calm down and have a wee conversation with yourself. Take deep breaths. Remember that your body needs nutrition to function properly— and you need to function properly if you want to engage with someone you care about. Good health is more than sensible— it is attractive. Ill-health is not romantic, so don’t think your distress is an indication of your sensitivity or the depth of your affection.Second, thing about talking to someone about how you feel; a counsellor, doctor, mature friend or family member. Do you need to share how you feel, or get a confidence boost, or get caring advice, or… ? Often just a discussion and some perspective can help a lot. Finally, until you feel calmer, stick to foods that are easy to digest, like rice and chicken. Eat the foods you generally really enjoy, like strawberries or avocadoes or yogurt. And best of luck when you finally do ask her out!

Why do some antibiotics cause a loss of appetite?

Antibiotics are drugs given to eliminate pathogenic, or disease-causing, bacteria from the body. They can be given in a number of ways, but outside the hospital they are almost always taken in oral form.Antibiotics do cause loss of appetite because of their activities in the gastrointestinal system.A number of antibiotics -- including, but by no means limited to, those in the "-cillin" class -- can, in the course of eradicating offending bugs, disrupt the balance of normal or "good" bacteria in the gut and elsewhere. As these normal flora are helpful in maintaining homeostasis, or a normal, nondisrupted state, in the GI tract through their effects on acid-base balance and other microorganisms, perturbations in these colonies can lead to nausea, vomiting, diarrhea and other effects. These symptoms decrease appetite and also lead to water loss in the body system. To find out how you can regulate your feeding, tackle obesity and or weight loss, you can check out the links below:EBook link:Dietary Balances; Obesity & Starvation; Regulation of Feeding - Kindle edition Health, Fitness & Dieting Kindle eBooks @ Amazon.comPaperback link:"Dietary Balances; Obesity & Starvation; Regulation of Feeding"

When you get your period do you lose appetite?

I started my period this morning and the past couple days I've been stressed out a little. I have really abnormal periods as they only last for a day or two days.

Friday I didn't eat anthing
Saturday I ate a pb&j
& today so far all I have had is yogurt. I tried making soup but I really couldn't stand the smell and didn't eat it.

Does anyone else go through this and is it caused by your menstruation or could it be something else?

Why do I lose my appetite when I smoke weed?

Cannabis effects us by interacting with receptors in the brain and nervous system that form the endocannabinoid system, using cannabinoids. The last time I checked there were 111 known cannabinoids, and probably a lot more we haven't discovered yet, which affect, among other things, appetite. I believe there have been some studies done specifically in this area, which seem to indicate that cannabis can be an effective appetite stimulator (and we've all heard of ‘the munchies’ right?) but I've never come across any data on it being an appetite suppressant. However, if we leave science alone and head into the wonderful world of anecdotal evidence we find lots of people reporting both appetite suppression AND stimulation with no clear idea of why or how and with lots of theories being bandied about. My own personal experience has been that appetite stimulation is brought on by THC and suppression is brought on by a combination of CBD and tolerance levels. For instance, I have been smoking cannabis for 30+ years and I very rarely get the munchies, it mostly happens after tolerance breaks, but even then it only seems to happen when I smoke indica or mostly indica strains which tend to be higher in THC and lower in CBD.As I said though, this is personal anecdotal evidence only, and since I'm always high when I gather this evidence I wouldn't swear on its validity. What I would say is that eating a whole load of, usually sugary, crap when you're high is probably bad for you and will certainly sober you up, so if you are avoiding the munchies, good for you!

Loss of appetite in early pregnancy?

Many women have digestive changes the first trimester so I wouldn't be worried. I definitely had a loss of appetite and then when the morning sickness hit, that didn't help things. Be sure to take your prenatal vitamin every day and I drank a lot of Carnation Instant Breakfast/Boost Nutrition drink the first trimester. Ensure is another similar thing. They're drinks (normally mixed with milk) that have a lot of vitamins and minerals in them so a nurse-practitioner suggested I try those to make sure I was getting the vitamins I needed. My loss of appetite disappeared at around 13 weeks and since then, I have just the opposite problem. Good luck!

Is it normal to lose your appetite in summer?

My daughter goes through this and we end up taking her to the doctors for it because it gets to a point where she’s lethargic and can’t stay awake. Since this is a routine issue, the doctor did a complete work up on her and did a complete adult like physical instead of tje routine basic physical she has to go through each year just to rule out medical causes. She had to undergo a lot of blood tests. We were told it is normal to a point but my daughter crossed the point. What she recommended we do is give her 6 small meals a day instead of 3 large meals. She also recommended a lot of carbs and proteins which gives your brain food (carbs) and helps with energy (protein and simple carbs). She suggested that we give her a lot of water based fruits such as watermelon and cantaloupe. This will give her healthy sugar instead of her regular snacks (a few cookies or something like it) She also recommended to cut out tea, flavored water, juice, milk and kool-aid. Reason being: these will fill you up and curb your appetite-especially in high heat. What we do is give her 3 small meals and 3 healthy high protein snacks (peanut butter and crackers or apples with peanut butter, fruit salad with yogurt dip and wheat germ in it, fresh vegetables like cucumber slices, carrots, celery, and tomatoes) this seems to be working quite well. She has been able to eat better and has lost some excess weight. You should try some of these. We give her plain water with some lemon in it for flavoring but no sugar. We freeze these bottles of water with lemon slices in it and as it thaws, she drinks it and has her “flavored” water. Also, if you can, get a wading pool or a small pool and fill it with ice cold water. Then let the sun naturally warm it up a little bit. Relax in it and keep yourself cool-this will also help you with heat-curbed appetite. It turns out that she has a small problem cooling herself down inside so she over heats. The doctor said it’s nothing to worry about but it sounds as if you have the same issue-a difficult time cooling yourself down through sweat. Get a fan that not only cools you but also allows you to squirt yourself with some water. Wal-Mart has these but I don’t know who else does. Also, look into getting cooling cloths-found in most athletic departments and some Dollar Trees. I hope this helps.

Sinus Infections. Can you lose your appetite over it and can you feel unsteady when you walk?

A sinus infection can cause loss of appetite and unsteadiness. The sinus cavities are connected to the throat and ears. The fluid can back up into the ears and thereby throw off your sense of balance. The fluid draining from the sinuses, which you may or may not feel, into the stomach can cause nausea, loss of appetite and loose stool or if severe, diarrhea. Lack of appetite can also stem from the general malaise that comes with a sinus infection~ it is good that you're doing your best to eat as your body does need fuel.
Not all sinus infections are bacterial, but if you have been prescribed antibiotics, make certain to take the full prescription. You can also take ibuprofen or acetaminophen for fever or pain and mucinex (plain) to thin the secretions along with a decongestant such as sudafed (drink plenty of fluids with these) if you have no allergies if your doctor did not prescribe such adjunct therapy. Another helpful thing is to use a saline nasal spray- only saline, not one of the ones containing medication unless prescribed by your doctor. The last bit of advice is to blow, blow, blow your nose- with your mouth OPEN- keeping it closed will allow secretions to enter your ears if they meet resistance.
Wishing you well!

What causes a loss of appetite during one's period?

The rise and fall of hormones throughout the cycle can have a huge effect on appetite. This varies from person to person, but I have found that estrogen acts as a big appetite suppressant for me. During the week of your period, your estrogen levels are starting to rise, while your progesterone level is very low. Progesterone will make me eat the bark off trees. So at this time, your “feed me!” hormone is very low and your “eh, maybe later” hormone is rising. (Both have effects on blood sugar and insulin resistance.) Add to this a little queasiness or pain from cramps, and you might have a good time to start a diet if you’ve been meaning to—at least from a psychological perspective. ) Be sure to take a multivitamin with iron though—especially if you’re a heavy bleeder.
