Jobs without college degrees?

Have you tried varying the college? Or just stuck at one? Sometimes the college we choose aren't actually our best fits at all and turn out awful for our personalities and skills. I know very intelligent people who also struggled at first with college, you're definitely not alone in this! Maybe you need a smaller environment, more 1 to 1 teaching, with classes that have smaller groups? Have you tried a different college and also didn't do well?

I'll tell you, I was valedictorian of my high school, my teachers considered me extremely intelligent, as did other people who interacted with me. But when I went to college, I flunked out the first semester too. I was devastated but I realize that all things happen for very positive reasons. And I realized that that particular college's environment just didn't mesh with me very well. My mom and dad thought I was crazy, made me go back again this summer, and my mom realized the same thing. It was the college, not me! So I'm going to a new college this fall and I'm head over heels about it!

If you've tried varying colleges and you think that you're not still doing well, have you tried at least getting your associates degree at a community college? Communtiy college is very do-able most of the time, very low-key, and you can get your RN and make at least 50,000 a year!

There must be some particular reason why you're not succeeding. You seem like a very intelligent person so I'm sure it's just something that isn't meshing very well with your nature that needs to be taken care of. Think about why perhaps you're not succeeding - is it your teachers? Are they miserable and do not like to help? Is it your peers? The material? Study habits? Environment (quiet, loud, etc)? These things can be changed! I think if you don't want to struggle in the future and be able to live well off on your own, you should still consider college, especially with this economy downslide. Just think about perhaps why you're not suceeding and we or a counselor can hopefully try to fix it to get you your college degree! :)

Can you still be successful without a college degree?

Before you lecture on me I want to describe my situation. My father passed away when I was 12 years old. He was very wealthy. I inherited the home we currently live in which has no mortgage on. I checked to see the value an its esitmated to be worth $1.2 M. My father also bought another house which we rent out and has no mortgage and is estimated to be worth $1.3 M. My father also inherited a vacant lot which is around 7,000 square feet and is worth $500k. As well as commercial property that we rent out to an auto repair shop valuing and additional million dollars. On top of that he left cash for me and as of today I have a total of $387k. I am planning to major in Marketing. I spend a lot of time consulting financial advisors and invest my money for growth. I am only 20 years old and I have already started my retirement plan which I put in $300 a month. The problem is I am not compatible with school. I admire knowledge whether its a documentary on the history or National geographics chanel. I spend a lot of time researching online and reading books. I just don't like college because of the homework, exams, time availabilities and really mean professors. Right now I am going to a community college and my grades are not so good. I am getting B's and Cs. My current accumalate GPA is 2.5 and I don't have that many total credits and its already my 4th semester. Should I just give up and start working and investing or should I graduate with a degree that will probably take me more that 4 years and p.s. I know the value of my properties sound ridiculous but I live in Hawaii and the prices for land and homes are very expensive.

Can you teach English in Russia without a degree?

I am starting a job in Moscow this fall and I don't have a degree. I do have a lot of experience working for the government and in the oil and gas sector so I think that is why I had no problem. Check out the job lists on www.expat.ru and also if go on the forum there is some good info. Also check out www.eslcafe.com for job adds and Russia forum. The thing is that most jobs don't seem to pay too well for beginners. For beginners most people seem to recomment Language Links, English First and BKC. None pay well but some give you accommodations and have lots of activities. I think it would be something that you would do more for the experience then the money. It seems like you have to build up a lot of private clients to make money there. Email me if you want to talk more about this.

What can I do at 38 without a degree to make 6 figures a year?

What can I do at 38 without a degree to make 6 figures a year? - A Quora question.Dear friend, I’m 36, but my hunger for a 6-figure salary started when I was about 30.But it was recently that I finally started to figure it out. Let me explain. It begins with your mindset, you need to understand who you are and the situation you are in. Only you can figure this out on your own. Not a mentor, not a self-help book, only you can.Once you figure out the mindset equation and who you truly are, the next step is finances, and what do I mean exactly? Before you can make a 6-figure salary, you need to manage and make the best of what you have right now.Yes, we all are in different situations and live different lifestyles, however, if you don’t learn how to do this now, the only thing that will change is the numbers, you’ll still have the same problems. You need to stop consuming and buying things you don’t need, and however you can, you need to start lowering your debt.Do whatever it takes to pay all your credit cards and loans.Again, you need to manage what you have now, so you can manage what you are getting later. The next step is the skill set. A person's range of skills or abilities. If I could go back in time and change something in my career, I would have started to focus on the following:- Marketing. (80/20 Sales and Marketing by Perry Marshall)- Copy-writing. (How to Write Copy That Sells by Ray Edwards)- Public Speaking. (Talk Like TED by Carmine Gallo)- Time Leverage. (F.U. Money by Dan Lok)- And some confidence. (sorry, there is no book for this)With this skill set in your toolbox, you’ll become unstoppable. There is something you know that others don’t and are willing to pay for it. However, you need to learn how to write, present and deliver your message, product or service effectively, and last make it a systematic process. If you can learn and combine these skills, you’ll make more than a 6-figure salary. It’s realistically impossible to try to come up with the next Facebook or Microsoft, but you can come up with the best version of yourself and your idea, product or service once you learn the skill set.But here is the bottom line, you can read and learn all the skills, but you need to take the necessary action to make the change. With or without a degree, this is where most of us failed most of the time, we just wish we could but never do.I wish the best of luck to you and I hope you find the key to your success.
