Is It Possible To Own A Pitbull In Nsw At All

What's the real answer to pitbulls in aulstraila?

I have a bluenose pitbull, I have raised him well. he's a harmless submissive dog. I'm moving to aulstraila in 1 year and have been reaserching the laws on pitbulls. I can't seem to find a common answer. Some responses say there're illigal to own and some not. Some say I can't bring him from another country, some don't. So what's the real answer to this. Can I bring him legaly? And if so, can I own him legaly when I get there. I plan on moving to Sydney. Thanks for your help.

If a male gets trichomoniasis will it go away on its own?

I wouldn't bet on it. Trich tends to linger around and cause very uncomfortable symptoms. Some men carry it with no symptoms but you'll still pass it which is why it is recommended that both partners get treated.

Can you get away with owning an illegal dog breed?

And how does the court even determine that your dog is a pitbull type

Over in this area of the UK we have dogs left in gardens barking all day long that never get walked, I would take care of my dog by the way and walk it but if these bad dog owners can get away with leaving a dog in their garden all its life then why cant someone get away with owning an illegal dog

Banning Pit Bulls, what is your opinion, and what proof to you have against it?

It really is difficult to provide proof against when the media and bite stats are so skewed.

I advise you to look at the ATTS temperament test results from 2006 and 2007, which shows that Pit Bulls scored higher than many "family breeds" Here's a link:

It's also advisable that you do some research on the history of the breed, and it's original purpose.

Then you should explore the challenges the breed is currently facing For example: Shoddy breeding practices, irresponsible/undereducated ownership, and of course, the ever popular dog fighting subculture.

Sum it up with what pit bulls CAN do and ARE doing: Including therapy work, search and rescue, narcotics work, ect

Here are some useful links that can get you started. Any questions, you can contact me via email. I'm happy to help

EDIT: Here's some bite stats, but they ARE NOT reliable. There are upwards of 20 breeds of dogs commonly mistaken for pit bulls, and there are a number of misidentified bites. Also, pit bulls are grouped as "Pit Bull Type Dogs" in the stats, which includes 3+ different breeds (APBTs, AmStaffs, Staffies, BTs, and any mix or mongrel that LOOKS LIKE a pit bull). Every other breed is grouped individually, stacking the cards against pits.
