Is It Rational For Supporters Of Marriage As An Institution To Oppose Expanding The Franchise

Why are Indians so influenced by the Western culture, when the Indian tradition has so much to give?

Indians have of course been influenced by the west since the time of European invasion in both good and bad ways.good sense-abolishing inhuman practices and superstitions ,introduction of modern education ,idea of indiviual rights and modern technology. In the bad sense - losing of our traditional values, objectification of women , rape culture etc.Although Indians generally have this colonial hangover ,to copy everything from the superior white ruling class of once, the mad extreme of it is seem among women expecially in NCR and surrounding region.Wearing shorts even in cold Delhi winters, going to pubs and hooking up with guys secretely in car parks is seen as the new cool or being culturally advanced…ALL THOSE ARE JUST STUPID ACTS by some hypocratic guys and girls who have no idea of Western culture and values. The way of life in western countries is totally different from what they think .While in India most people try this secretly to keep up their ego and peer pressure ,and remain good in front of parents / society …in the west everyone lives by his / her individual choice and views .For example in the USA you can find orthodox Jewish and xtian communities where even mingling freely with opposite gender can invite social isolation. Also there are hippies and free travelling women who enjoy life to the fullest.Everyone respects the individual freedom of others and never interferes in the personal life / choices of others ..even if it's your mom or sisterCan that ever happen in india ????Will any ultramodern guy who scores worth a new girl every month tolerate if his sister goes to a pub with her stud boyfriend ??Will any guy who supports short clothes and PDA accept his mom / sis wearing a bikini in front of his family ,colleagues ??Will these so called self reliant modern independent Delhi girls ,admit their hookup history to their family .?? Or to the arranged marriage proposal coming in ??While in the west people are open about all these to the people who deserves to know. You can't find a fake sanskari American virgin who secretly hooked up with her college BF and then bitch about other girls wearing sleeveless. So indians being fully western is a total hypocrisy.People just want to satisfy their egos ,thinking that they would be labelled as an old generation if they condemn any western ways. But at heart they are all a bunch of sanskari indian having deeply imprinted values about modesty , virginity , ideal man, women etc.

What would a socially conservative and fiscally liberal party stand for?

Some possible examples:Education: In theory a classical Western education is something that a socially conservative party would stand for - maybe education spending increases would be a sticking point. Mandatory social/military service: Patriotism and social service are ideals that many social conservatives feel strongly about (e.g. conservative religious organizations are some of the greatest providers of social welfare services) and if there was less correlation between social and fiscal conservatism, this could become a large part of government spending.Economics-based affirmative action: While it is hard to completely separate fiscal and social issues - one can assume that socially conservative, fiscally liberal views would be more amenable to re-distribution of wealth in some cases. One manifestation of this could be by making affirmative action move from a racial to a purely income/socio-economic subsidy.Maintaining traditional family values: It's not clear how this would play out as different political, corporate and religious influences all come together to form the existing socially conservative view. I would expect that forbidding gay marriage and limiting abortion/birth-control rights would be a large part of this party's platform.

Liberalism? Conservative? What do these really mean?

Wow...good job! Pretty much sums it up and yeah...prepare to be attacked with namecalling. I'm sure they are on their way!

Women: What are the disadvantages of women empowerment?

Not only empowerment every act with an imbalance approach will have certain disadvantages. No matter whether it is men or women empowerment, anything that goes against the essence of development will have its own repercussions.I strongly favor women empowerment; rather it’s their birth right. A woman born with all her rights and duties that make her an empowered by birth, all we have to do is to provide her with a compatible atmosphere and all possible facilities for smooth progress and development. As said, in case of any exaggeration, imbalance approach or unhealthy trends, the women empowerment will have some disadvantages and they are:A woman may not be able to discharge her natural responsibilities like nurturing a child, taking care of her husband etc.The society may notice an undeclared competition between the two genders. There may be an imbalance of roles to be played by men and women according to their potentials.Lack of precautionary measures may lead to cultivation of negativity, like jealousy, animosity, harassment etc.Excessive work and over involvement will exerts unhealthy impacts on physical and mental conditions. Rise in crime and sexual exploitation.Children’s moral standard and academic performance will have adverse effects. The family system will collapse.A society runs and progresses smoothly if the balance of roles, statuses and responsibilities of both the genders is maintained, if not, the inequality between the rights of genders may pose threats.
