Is It Safe For My Albino Mouse To Jump Off Of Things

Do you think a mouse could get to the top of a bunk bed?

There is a mouse in my house and I was wondering if they could get to the tops of bunk beds? I saw things where people woke up and their was a mouse on their face, so I'm sleeping up there tonight. I've also seen things that say how mice can climb up walls... so would it be possible for him to get to my bunk bed?

Disappearing albino shark?

I've had my tank set up for about 7 months now. I have a 29 gal with 1 albino rainbow shark, 2 angel fish, 3 mickie mouse platies, 5 gold danios and an albino bristle nose sucker. Today my albino rainbow shark disappeared. I've looked everywhere, even moving a couple rocks just to make sure he didn't get stuck. I've looked in the filter, in my sink and on the floor (where he would have fallen if he jumped) but cant find him anywhere! He was pretty much the biggest thing in there and had been in there the longest. Is it possible the 2 angel fish ate the whole thing overnight (not leaving any bit left)?? I just can't imagine where he went :-(

Why is my pet mouse twitching, jerking, and acting out?

My pet mouse (Jack) keeps twitching, jerking, and scratching about every 2 seconds. I just recently got him from petsmart and he wasn't doing this when we first got him. He started doing it about 4 days ago when I changed out their bedding and cleaned the cage. I've cleaned the cage out before and he didn't do this, so I don't really think it's that. I don't think it's parasites either because his brother isn't having any of these issues. Do you have any suggestions of what it might be?

Also, him and my other mouse (I got them at the same time and they're from the same litter) have started fighting almost constantly. They haven't drawn blood, but Jack will attack his brother almost every time he walks near him. It's not all Jack though, sometimes his brother instigates it! He will go steal his food, lick it, then run away!

Their cage is big enough for the both of them, it's about 18 inches long, 10 inches wide, and it has 2 levels so space shouldn't be a problem. We have two wheels for each of them and I give them food and water every day, so competing for food and/or play time shouldn't be a problem.

I don't want to separate them because they will sleep together occasionally and I'm hoping that maybe Jack is being more aggressive than usual from the jerking problem, and I hope it's something that can be easily taken care of. I don't want him to be hurting or need something and me not understand.

They might be mice, but they are my pets and I want them to be as comfortable as they can be! :D

Any help is appreciated!! Thank you in advance!! :)

I think I saw a lizard in my room. Could it be harmful to sleep in the same room as the lizard?

Chances are, this lizard is probably thinking:I think I saw a human in the room i’m in. Could it be harmful to sleep in the same room as the human?(assuming he/she is nocturnal.)The only lizards that pose a real threat to humans are the venomous ones. Even if a lizard is venomous, it will almost never use it to attack an individual. Their venom is for defensive purposes. In fact, the lizard could mean there is prey in your room (assuming this lizard is either a carnivore or an omnivore). So actually, being in the same room as the lizard may be beneficial since it will eat small pests (again, i’m assuming it’s carnivorous or omnivorous)

Can my pet mouse survive in the wild?

Basically, yes, it is a death sentence for her.

First: Wild mice only live for about eight-months. In fact, it would be a great achievement for a mouse to survive that long outside even.

Second: There's no doubt that within a few days after her release, she'll be captured and eaten by a predator - a cat, a bird-of-prey, a lizard, a snake, humans.... whatever. There are many predators out there. And the fact that she is a white Albino mouse, well, let's just say she's a walking target.

Third: Living outside is very stressful for any animal. Inside living with humans, you are presented with a whole dish of food - as well as extras probably - each day. Your cage is cleaned out regularly and your nest materials are replaced with fresh stuff. Fresh water is available to you at all times in a clean bottle. You have room to exercise on your wheel or other toys.
But, in the wild, you must do this all yourself. You must find food and water for yourself, hide from predators every day, etc.

At the same time though, she is stuck in a cage with no companion. If you could, try to get a bigger cage, and another mouse companion. Mice are social animals and require a buddy, especially if you are unable to provide it with play-time outside of it's enclosure. But remember, you must introduce the pair slowly!* Or, if you can't handle it, give it to another person who you know will care for her - someone who can provide her with a friend or even tame her again.

* There is a chance that your mouse could be aggressive to others. If so, you will not be able to give her a friend as they will simply kill each other within the time-span of two days.

Good luck!

*Chance*

Can a mouse/rat get upstairs?

yep! they are quite good at jumping... so they just hop their way up.. cute little things. you should use live traps... they do sell thost and they are much nicer. and if you are referring to that sticky paper mouse trap stuff that is horrible. the mouse/rat will get stuck and struggle and as it is trying to get free it will get more stuck and it rips the skin and fur right off. and they die slow sad struggling deaths. so sad :(
