Is It Safe To Visit Us

Is it safe for an Arab Muslim guy to visit the US now?

In NYC no one will even notice you. NYC is so racially diverse they won’t think twice about you and will basically ignore you.As long as you don’t wear the traditional male garb you will be fine. If you don’t tell anyone you are Muslim, no one will know. But really most people won’t care at all.Just be decent to everyone. Be respectful of american women (treat every woman you meet as you would a woman in an abaya you don’t know who is accompanied by a male relative, even in bars). Don’t insist on getting your way. Be kind to service personnel, waiters, waitress, hotel staff, and thank them for helping you even if they are paid to help you. Do all of this and no one will even notice you at all and you should not have any problems.

Is it safe for US citizens to visit Russia?

Since you emphasize “US citizen”, you are concerned politically. I go there regularly, and have never had any problems as an American. If it takes other national 2 minutes with an immigration officer, it sometimes takes me 5 when a judicious officer has to make some calls. I guess they are making sure I’m not a trouble maker given the political climate between the two nations. I have a Ukrainian stamp in my passport making me standout even more. But no, never a problem. Just some delays, if you are concerned with a few extra minutes.Other than that I am simply a foreigner to an average Russian. If I am ever robbed on the street, I am robbed as anyone else. It has nothing to do with if I’m American or not. I have never been mugged by the way, and I have traveled through all 11 time zones of Russia. However, I do know some people would try to charge me more for the same service as a foreigner. This is common among almost all developing countries actually. Never jump in a taxi that is trying to get your business. The rate is multiple times than for a local. If you are at the airport, pay for it at a counter designated for taxi. Or simply use an app like Yandex to call a taxi yourself. It’s a good idea to have the exact change. Some drivers would pretend they don’t have change. A Russia can insist for the drive to stop at a store to break the bill. If you don’t speak Russian, how do you articulate all that? No. you don’t need to tip the driver. The streets in Russia are A LOT safer now than they used to in the 90’s. Thus, when you read up this kind of info, make sure it’s current.English is not as common as in western Europe. Thus, download the Russian language pack into your Google translator before you go. Familiarize yourself with the Russian alphabets help too because many (or some?) Russian words have foreign root. If you know Ф is F, then when you see ФOTO, you know it’s photo. C is S, П is P, У is U, and Л is L . So CTOП is STOP. ТУАЛЕТ is TUALET. With a bit of imagination, you should know it means toilet, ie. restroom. In summary, exercise common sense when you visit any developing country, Russia or not. The Russians are actually quite warm and welcoming to foreigners. If you leave your attitude at home, you will have a good time there.

Is it safe for an American to visit Australia?

You're fine with Vegemite!? Sounds like you're an Aussie at heart already! It's very safe from a "will someone kill me?" perspective. From a snakes and spiders perspective it's also very safe. You're biggest worries are probably being caught in a rip at the beach or getting alcohol poisoning from having too much fun!

Is it safe for me as an american to visit Bosnia?

I think so

Is veitnam a safe place for an american to visit?

Is visiting US safe for a Muslim women wearing Hijab?

I am a Canadian muslim revert (hijabi) who has also lived in the US, so I will answer based on my personal experienceAlthough many places in the US are quite multi-cultural I think that overall, Canada is a better place to live (and study) for a muslim woman than the US. The main reason for this I think is the difference in our views on multiculturalism. Many Americans still hold fast to the "melting pot" philosophy in which they expect people to assimilate into the American culture. By contrast, Canada has always had a "mosaic" or "salad bowl" philosophy where people are allowed to celebrate their differences, be they cultural  or religious. This is not to say that your stay in Canada would be completely without incident. Every western country, including Canada, has its share of islamophobes, but if you are wanting to go to an English speaking country for your studies, I think it is the better choice. That having been said, I would suggest to you since you are from Singapore, that you consider Japan which is where I live now. The Japanese  people are much more kind and tolerant than either Canadians or Americans and tuition is much cheaper as well.

Is the USA safe to visit - especially in relation to gun crime - on a British tourist perspective?

Yes, of course. I'm 44 years old, have lived in the US my whole life, and I've never been victim of a crime and have only seen guns on police officers' holsters and in sporting goods stores. If you wanted to seek out violence, could you find it? Sure, you could go to the worst of our inner-city neighborhoods and do something stupid and get a reaction. As a tourist in general tourist areas (it would help if you named where you were going; this is a pretty big country, you know), are you in danger of being a victim of gun crime? No, not in any significant sense. It's a bit like asking if you're in danger of a plane crash as you cross the Atlantic. Sure, it's a hypothetical possibility, but it's very, very unlikely.

Is the USA a safe country?

Of course the USA is a safe country. Media only covers news that's interesting. Therefore watching media could lead one to believe the usa is unsafe but that not the case. That just to get ratings. The USA has large population and land mass. As a whole its safe, but certain areas can be unsafe. Generally speaking cities have more crime but this isn't a third world nation. Statistically the odds of being a victim of a random crime is very low. Little awareness of were you are helps. Basically avoid bad neighborhoods, that good advice anywhere you travel. If your worried about racial discrimination or something along those lines. Its yet again not as big as a deal as media makes it out to be. You dont have to be white to live a normal life in america. If your worried about gun control, it's not the wild west in america. Yes a lot of people have guns. Most people dont carry a gun. Its just a bad idea to go kicking doors in and robbing people because you can end up shot. Most people that own guns never use them. Worried about terrorism? I lot of people are but not very many countries have an answer for that. Just remember the USA is more than national media. Theres a lot of small towns and rural areas that crime is unheard of and are very safe.
