Is It To Late To Make A Morkies Ears Stand Up

Why do puppy Yorkies get their tails cut?

Short answer:  Because the American Kennel Club says so. It's part of their breed standard that a Yorkie's tail be "docked to a medium length."  If it's not, the dog will be disqualified from competition in dog shows.  TL;DR:  As Tom Harris said, with Yorkies this is purely aesthetic.  There are no functional or health-related reasons to do this. With some of the hunting and working breeds, there exist practical historical reasons for tail docking, ear docking, and dew claw removal, but even some of these are questionable - see here for a long explanation:  Canine Tail Docking FAQ I can somewhat understand the idea of docking the tail of a hunting dog working in thick brush:  After spending hours removing burrs from my Golden's tail, I appreciated my father's naturally bob-tailed Brittanies.Bottom line:  Most of this "puppy augmentation" is done simply to conform to a breed standard, or to custom. The Yorkie seems a bit of an outlier to me, because there wasn't even the thinnest 'practical' historical utilitarian reason:  Simply appearance. In my opinion, if you never plan to show your dog then there's no need to surgically alter them from the way they were born.

Will Morkies ears stand up like a Yorkie?

It's a mixed breed. No way to know. It is all in the genetics.

60th day of pregnancy for my yorkie?

So my Yorkshire terrier will be a first time mommy. Her first date of breeding was April 15th which would put her somewhere around June 16-17th for delivery. I took her in for x-rays on the 9th and the vet had said expect puppies 12-24 hours. This was before I told him her due date and he said expect early puppies because she had milk already. Anyhow still no puppies. Thursday morning the 12th @ 9:30 am her temp dropped to 98.2 degrees, but 2 hours later she was back up the 99.9. I called the vet and she said she will have these puppies today. Still no puppies. It is now Saturday her 60th day and still nothing. I have had other litters before so I am not new to this, just now i am dealing with a smaller breed. She has light, clear vaginal discharge. It is not much. She is very very tired and only gets up every once in a while. Her appetite has decreased only eating a few bites every 2 hours. She is urinating and pooping fine. Please help with some suggestions........

Is it to late to make a morkies ears stand up?

Yes, yes it is

My dog won't eat her food, but she'll beg for ours. Why? She'll whine and go crazy for human food, but when it comes to dog food, she avoids eating it. It's as if she knows her food doesn't taste as good as ours.

If she doesn't eat her own food and she's not starving to death, I'll have to draw the conclusion that her strategy is working and that you are being manipulated into feeding her your food.......? ;-) Let me tell you a true story.I'd had a very shy dog here for two weeks to work with her. The day after she was back with her owners they called me. I wondered slightly worried if everything was ok...?"Yes, yes, she's fine. She's really doing much better. But I have to ask: since she's come back she doesn't beg at the table any more! We've been trying to fix that for two years and never managed; how could you make her stop begging at the table in just two weeks??""I didn't feed her from the table.""Oh..... Ok... We'll try that."True story. :-) In my experience fussy eaters who turn their noses up at all types of dog food have become this way for two reasons:They are given plenty of other foods and treats instead. They are not given enough exercise to work up a proper appetite. So the solution is, as is usually the case :-), with the owner. You need to stop giving her lots of other unhealthy food and stick to your guns with tasty, good quality dog food as her only option, and you need to make sure that she gets plenty of exercise and activity so that she is hungry when she comes back and you present her with the food. I also recommend feeding her before you eat, so that she has the stomach full when you're eating.Good luck!
