Is rapping or writing lyrics to music haram?

i like to rap and write lyrics. but my raps aren't about women and money, and violence. its more about morals, and essentials. my raps are mainly about tryna get my word across to people that they need to wake up, and realize whats going on around them, and how we can better ourselves. i use examples of conscience and greed, and power, and other stuff. i use examples like trying to find the balance in life. because that is what we all as HUMANS must do. even in the Quran it says to find moderation between all things. and when darkness befalls you. you gotta stay positive and have trust in Allah that things will get better. i say in my raps that life is nothing but a test, and we gotta try to ace it. And its not like im trying to sell my raps or anything, im not tryna start a career, i just want people to hear my words and think about it. no one reads books anymore. the only form of literature that people are interested in nowadays is music and lyrics. and music, adds a feel to the lyrics. because music, and soundwaves can alter moods. and if the beat tells a story, the lyrics tell even more of a story. the best way to get to people's heads is through music. i know for a fact that singing is haram, but my raps only consist of rapping and emotional, music. i wanna just try to make people SEE things the way i see things. i know i cant make people believe things, but i CAN make people percieve things like i do. just trying to show a new perspective. now i dont wanna just go into this, and its haram, cuz for every person to hear it, i will get sins. and i dont want anyones own opinions. i want straight hadiths and verses from the quran that let me know weather or not it is haram. when muslims start putting their own opinions in islam, it corrupts the deen. and we all know that. just cuz you THINK something is right, please dont go ahead and do it, because in reality Allah knows best, and there is a reason behind EVERY single thing he said. Its not haram. Alcohol can be used as a disinfectant which can kill bacteria! As long as your not consuming it, its fine to use.

im muslim myself and i pray and fast, but i have a passion towards music, i see it in way that a person should focus on doing good things and having good intentions instead of being paranoid of all those so called "sinful" things.

Is bollywood music haram ?

Haram or Halal is mainly based on context and intention. If the intention with which you heard bollywood music or if that music was keeping you off your duties, then it is haram, else not. If music per se was considered haram, the qawwalis at mazaars would have not existed, nor any arabian music.

If your question is bollywood music being haram because it talks of love, longing and is accompanied by images, then that some purists may consider to be haram. But then is love and longing haram? If that was so Islam would have died for want of progeny. Are images haram...its better to see and learn from images than imagination when it comes to love :)
