Is 19 a good age to start martial arts?

is 19 a good age to start martial arts? i'd never did martial arts before cause i've trained football since i was 4(till now) so as a shape and stamina i'm ok.i'd like taekwando style but i haven't decided yet about what martial art style

Can you learn martial arts at the age of 18?

Yes you can learn at any age.

Japanese Jiu-jitsu is in my mind mainly for adults unless you attend a fully qualified coach for children as they have a separate syllabus.

Best wishes :)***

Martial arts age average?

There is no good or bad age to start, the one advantage that starting earlier gives you is flexibility. Becoming flexible after your teen years gets harder and harder. Aside from that there is no good age to start martial arts, if you train hard it doesn't matter how long you've trained.

Is there an age limit to joining martial arts?

No age limits. you are not even an adult yet. I have had new students start that were in the 50's. What is confusing is why so many people ask if they are to old to start training. The only answer I can guess is that there are so many McDojo out there promoting 5 year olds to black belt. I can only guess that many people are getting the wrong idea that if you don't start very young, you can't do it..... Total misinformation. If you want to train then find a good school that is not a McDojo and go to it.

56 years old and still training and teaching!

Best Of Luck!

Is 17 a good age to start learning martial arts?

Yes!!!

Thats when I started and I've done alright :)***

Is there an age limit to learning martial arts, such as kung fu? Can I still learn it later on in life?

There is certainly no age limit (as has been stated numerous times already), but certain styles emphasize flexibility, which if you aren't already somewhat flexible may become discouraging. It's not impossible, but often times older students get frustrated at having to work harder than their younger, more agile counterparts. That's not to say you shouldn't give it a try if that is your interest. I've seen all sorts of students of different age ranges and abilities. I had one older student that became disenchanted with the idea of sitting in a horse stance for 10 minutes and decided that Aikido was more his speed. Aikido isn't any easier than any other martial art, but it doesn't have any hard strikes or odd stances.

Unfortunately, it doesn't matter what age you are, you are still limited by the schools available in your area. Hopefully there is one close to you that suites your needs.

Good luck!
