Is My Friend Really Overweight From Having Muscle

My boyfriend's friends call me fat? Am I really fat?

At 5'1" you are not unhealthy, but you might find yourself looking healthier if you lost a little weight. However, there are other factors involved, including your natural body type, and as I cannot see who you are, I cannot possibly know what that is. You may be a very thin person who has more lean muscle, and so aren't actually fat, but have muscle weight. I can't know without seeing you, and I'm not saying you should show me who you are. If you are truly worried about your weight, ask your parents, in a tone that says "just trying to be healthy", if you can go talk to your doctor about your weight. He might suggest some weight loss, he might say you are the picture of health. I don't know, and cannot know, without seeing what you look like. Also, because you are a girl, you might not actually have fat where you're not supposed to, assuming you don't have much muscle, and so this could explain your weight as well. Overall, you are most likely not overweight, but most definitely not fat.

I'm overweight, but I really want to join the soccer team?

What'd I'd do is play defense. That's what I played and I loved it. I hate running, the same thing happens to me. It's because you and I both lack stamina. This is what I suggest to gain more stamina...
Start by walking a mile or so a day nonstop, until you can do so breathing comfortably.
Then, jog a mile a day nonstop until you can do so without collapsing.
Then, try running a mile nonstop. Then, 2 miles. Listen to music while you do so. or something to take your mind off of what youre doing. music is easy to get lost in. Work your way up. Try to eat better. Ride your bike more. Swim. Drink diet soda instead of regular. Wheat instead of white bread. simple stuff.
When you DO join soccor, before a game, eat a lot of carbs (breads, spaghetti, pizza) because carbs give you more energy or something. My coach told my team to do this, and it helped with the running.

Also, you dont have to run the ENTIRE time durning a soccor game. You CAN stop and walk or jog. or stay back whilst everyone else attacks the ball so when it comes towards you you can make a goal.

Good luck. hope I helpedish.

I'm 5'6" and 205 pounds, am I extremely overweight?

I was talking to my friend and never thought of myself as fat..sure, I weigh more than a lot of people, but I'm built to where it doesn't show too badly. Am I overweight?

How is my friend so muscular?

Of course your friend may have just hit the genetic jackpot and was born a mesomorph - someone who is genetically predisposed to gaining muscle and maintaining low body fat without much or even any effort. We all fall into three categories of body type:Ectomorphs: Those who are naturally skinny and don't carry much muscle or fat.Mesomorphs: Those who are athletically built with low body fat and high amount of muscle.Endomorphs: Those who generally carry higher amount of body fat and find it hard to move it even with exercise.Of course we can carry traits from more than one group too. There are people who gain muscle easily but still carry a lot of body fat: endo-mesomorphs as one example.Myself, I fall into the ectomorph category and with a good many years of weight training and good food intake, I managed to increase my body weight by 40% and stay lean in the process. This was by no means easy and I remember those early days of eating six huge meals a day whilst working out hard to attain this.About three years into my training I lived in a shared house with a bunch of Irish guys and one of them was the poster child for the mesomorph body type. He worked in a pizza shop and ate nothing but free pizza. Okay, when peckish (which he always was) he might put away a few pork pies and some bags of crisps (chips in America). He drank heartily and in advisedly and every time he went to the pub, the share price of Guinness would soar :) His main form of exercise was the odd bar fight he got into. So what was the upshot of this? He was extremely lean and muscular like he had been working out all his life. His six pack had a six pack and you could see every muscle on his body. As someone who had been working his arse off to attain this type of physique with hours at the gym and more protein shakes, chicken and steak than an Olympia contest all-you-can-eat buffet, it was disheartening for me to say the least. But hey - thems the breaks.Chances are your friend HAS worked for their muscularity, but I just wanted to point out that not all of us are genetically created equal in the muscle stakes. (muscle...stakes....see what I did there? Okay, never mind :)EDIT: Having auto shared this post onto my facebook page, it comes posted next to a free picture of a professional bodybuilder which made me want to add one more thing. Maybe - just maybe, your friend is supplementing with a good old dose of vitamin S. It is another route to gaining more muscularity.

My bmi says I'm overweight but I don't look like it!!?

I'm around 5'6/5'7 and like 145 pounds. I'm extremely flat stomached. All my weight is in my butt and thighs so I don't have a problem with like clothes and stuff. I've never been called fat and when I wear shorts sleeves where you can see my arms and wrists my friends are always like "I could snap it like a twig!" I'm a cheerleader and I fit a lot smaller uniforms that the other girls. I just don't know why my bmi says I'm overweight and I don't look like it.

I'm starting to feel self conscious and I've been trying to restrict myself to 800-1000 calories a day to lose weight. I'm exercising a lot and drinking only water.

I think that I'm fatter than my friend?!!!?

She told me that she's gonna start exercising daily b/c she thinks she's fat and wants that "bikini body". And I asked her how much she weighs and she said 115- 120 pounds. Idk if she was lying but anyway I felt hurt b/c I'm like 122!!! We are the same height and age (I'm a few months older). She never exercises and is really weak. She doesn't play sports and watches what she eats. When we eat lunch (in school), I eat 2 peanut butter and jelly sandwiches while she only eats one. I play tennis 2-3x a week, burn 140 calories about 3x a week (on the eliptical) and eat way more than her. We seem the same, but i'm more "toned" it's just that I'm NOT 115 and I wish I was!!! I don't understand why I wiegh so much (more than her) if people tell me I'm skinny (as skinny as her or even skinnier)!!!

Help me**
any tips/advice!!

Can someone be 300 pounds in mostly muscle, and still be healthy?

I invited a friend over a few years ago to visit me and my family. At that time I lived on the third floor and there was no elevator in the building. My friend was a colossal guy, close to 260 pounds of muscle. He got to this level via steroids. So that day my friend rang the intercom and I opened the building’s main door to him. I waited a couple of minutes when I started to hear some very heavy breathing getting closer and closer to me. My friend was making his way up the stairs. When he got up to the third floor he was sweating and he needed to catch his breath. He was clearly gassed.Remember that you can increase the size of your muscles via exercise and diet, and to a very large size via steroids, but the size of your most important muscle, the heart will remain the same size. This means that it will have to work extremely hard to pump blood to this much larger body now.My buddy was an average 180 pound man before he started lifting and started taking steroids. His heart grew to a perfect size to take care of that size of a body. Yet, now my friend was carrying lots more muscles.Being 300 pounds in mostly muscle is not healthy. You carry a lot of unnecessary muscle from an evolutionary point of view and your body can’t function efficiently any more at that level. Also, people of that size need to eat a lot. As you probably guessed it, it is very difficult to take all those calories in broccoli and lean chicken, so they tend to eat a lot of unhealthy food too. Here is a picture of an off-season body builder. As you can see even though he is big and have huge muscles he does not look very fit:

I am 13 years old i am 5'4. i weigh 171 pounds but am pretty muscular. am i fat?

yes you could lose some weight and probably leaning out will help you in sports (not to mention you'll feel great).

here's an example of a good meal plan. its easiest if you stick to the same thing everyday and get into a good routine so you can easily stick to it.

breakfast: granola bar or one small (not a big bowl!!) bowl of cereal.

lunch: a basic 20oz fruit smoothie or a salad with not many toppings or a REALLY healthy sandwich.

dinner: just have small portions. soup or lean cuisine is great and really easy to make

*dont eat ANYTHING after dinner*
*drink TONS of water*

trust me i do cross country, lacrosse, and surf so it will really help.
stick with this you'll be glad you did
